I absolutely have lots of confidence in U-Haul equipment & trust on their end to help with roadside assistance. Overall I arrived @ my Location safe & sound. Thanks again U-Haul for having an Auto Transport @ my last minute request. & also thank you to all the staff & members for assisting with my difficulties throughout my travels across Canada. Johnny L | Overall ExperienceCommunication on where the pick up locations are, especially if there isn't a unit at the preferred location. The staff at the pickup and drop off locations seem to have little to no support from uhaul, and when there are issues, it's up to the customer to solve the issues. Better organization when it comes to locations of pickup and drop off, reservation numbers, equipment taken, etc. And easier to use system for staff at the locations to find the info required. Seems difficult for them to find proper info.

Mark Ha) It took FOREVER to finalize this rental. Big time problems with their scanning process. The "system" would not accept my son's driver's. They had to request my Albeta I.D. b) When the time comes to "check if trailer is ok" ALL THE PICTURES of the trailer are ALREADY in the phone. Those pictures make that trailer look as if it's BRAND NEW which is far from being the case (paint cracked on it, etc.). THAT should NOT BE ACCEPTED. Also, given the time it took just to book that rental (something like +/- 2 hours), I sure was not in any condition to start taking pictures and trying to figure out how that "app" worked. Otherwise, I asked my son and he says that "Yes" the equipment was clean and well maintained. NOT the first time I was dealing with this place. Previous time (U-Box Order No_14609592 - fall 2023 AND "Your moving help order no. #8bae79d6 - Job Number: JB-3eb1050f) when the "mover" arrived with the lettering: "We move your junk" - I knew that was terrible "marketing". The service from that "older man" (as Alain from UHaul - 950 Woods RD called him) was less than satisfying. When I mentioned that I wanted all the totes that contained my books - in the basement - the look of his daughter's eyes when she looked, concerned, at her dad - simply pitiful. Thus, I told them it was ok and they could put in the back porch. Nonetheless, I had to tell that man NOT to put bigger tote on top of a smaller one - had to ask them at more than one occasion to move something that was not placed in the right spot (couch against a wall). Big dresser was very difficultly (seemed like a man with no experience in moving furniture) moved to bedroom but taken off the trolley and DRAGGED on the floor all across the bedroom(!). When I had mentioned all this to Alain, he offered an e-transfer credit OR he was coming in Falher and could try to drop by and help me bring the totes of books in my basement - which I accepted. He never did nor did he phone to explain.I had tried AT MANY OCCASIONS to "submit a review" but the links were always inaccessible. (end of that "adventure") CONTINUING FOR TRAILER RENTAL 2024: Your "booking system" itself could use improvement. When I completed online, the "Collision Damage Waiver" appeared as $50. - and ended up being $110!!! As for the quote: "10 days and 23 hours of use requested, subject to availability." - NEVER understood what the "23 hours" is all about. ALSO, when I first asked for the 10 days, only 5 were granted. Had to call them back as my son was having mechanical problems with his van on his way back. NEVER was I informed that there is NO REFUND for unused days - even when I mentioned: "In worst scenario, if we don't use all the days, we can ask for a refund right? Like I wouldn't want you folks to be in some sort of trouble because we can't bring the trailer back on time shoul you have rented it to someone else". This, is my perception is LACK OF INTEGRITY on Janet's part as she never specified "no refund" but only agreed to the fact that yes, in May, the season is starting to be "more busy". When we returned the trailer, it was raining. Asked Janet how come the "Collision Damage Waiver" Fee was $110 instead of $50 and her reply was: "That, you have to ask "them". (situation out of her control from what I understood) Janet explained to my son where to go park the trailer at the other end of very large lot and that someone would come and help us. I had to get out of the van and go get a piece of wood to put under the "trailer's hitch" as there is nothing to hold that thing from being right on the ground. As to the hitch itself, can't help but wonder why it is SO LONG (+/-7feet!!!). Like, I calculated the lenght of the trailer (as per measurements given on U-Haul's website), plus the lenght of my son's van in order to have an idea of how much it would cost for the ferry to Vancouver Island. The cost ended up being DOUBLE of what I had estimated because of the lenght of that hitch. Like, total lenght my son says was equivalent to 37 FEET! That make quite a difference for the charge on BC Ferry. I am VERY SATISFIED with the service I got from U-HAUL USA when I rented U-boxes. (I still remember the excellent service I got from Ellen and others). However, I can't say as much from U-HAUL in Canada. U-Haul East Side Storage is way better than U-Haul back in Lachine, Quebec but they still have improvements to work on.

I had trouble when returning the vehicle I'd rented as the person who filled in the information upon registration made an error...the correction of this error took over 20 minutes... 20 minutes of precious daylight driving time (I had another hour highway driving to return to my starting point).. Add insult, the fact that I had to wait due to UHAUL error, it kind of blew my mind, re: gracious customer service, the UHAUL had the nerve of adding the charge for ONE MILE OVER ESTIMATE !!!! Are you kidding me???? really???!! making a client wait over 20 minutes for a company error!!????and then making them pay for ONE MILE !!! Public relations is NOT your forte!!! It may be only be just over a dollar , but... that's not really the point.. It just felt a bit petty on your part....If it wasn't for the professionalism on the agent at that location, I would not be recommending to anyone to use UHaul , ever!!.. but, as it is, the person did the best the occasion required which I am ever so grateful for...tho... she could also have suggested that the additional charge be negated due to the inconvenience to their customer (ie..me ).
Susan MEast Side Storage was a convenient one stop shop for all moving and storage needs, wide selection of moving boxes, supplies, friendly staff.. Clean, secure and modern self storage facility and only 6 minuets from Peace River! They have local charity storage unit where good used items are donated, when the unit is full they auction it off online and all $ proceeds are donated to a majority vote community non-profit group like the SPCA or soup kitchen for example. So if you're moving and have something to donate don't forget! ️

Anthony CWhat a difference!! The drop off location was amazing! I was dealing with the regional manager for Westlock by now, but a smooth drop off with the small exception of them being rather difficult to find initially. I got my receipt promptly once the office opened. Contact was responded to immediately- and I was never made to feel like my bad experience with Westlock was invalid or tiresome. If anything, they seemed to want all the harder to at least have one positive experience for me in the whole thing. Exceptionally friendly staff- despite the office being closed I was greeted by the onsite manager- I guess I looked a little lost, lol- and given clear direction on where to park the truck, when to expect my receipt, and the method of it, etc. All in all, a relief after the horror of the pick up!
