The owner was rude and forced me to get car back so that he could rent it to other person in the morning. Didn't even say that he would be charging my card initially and just wouldn't share much info and place his demand. Worst experience with uhaulRahil C.
Overall the experience was fine but felt a little unprofessional. I was taken into a strange and dark back office with no indication anywhere that it was a U-Haul affiliated facility. I actually felt a little nervous to give my credit card. Even though only one person from my party was allowed in the back office due to COVID, no one in the facility was wearing a mask (currently this is mandated in town). One small note: We never checked the odometer together before departing, which definitely feels like an essential step of a mileage-based billing plan. The employee did walk around the vehicle to point out existing damage that I would not be responsible for, which was very much appreciated. Instructions on returning the vehicle were clear. We had no issues with the vehicle. A few days before my reservation, the facility called to tell me that I could not leave my personal vehicle there and would need to be dropped off. This should be listed on the website when booking. I was fortunate to have someone drop me off, but others may be in a different situation. Overall the experience was fine, but in the future I would choose another nearby facility that was more professional.Kasey M.
Overall the truck was in great shape. I appreciate the tip on how to disable the tow haul feature and save gas. Thanks, Matt & Mike! I wiped out sticky stuff that was in the cup holders and on the door handle. No big deal. You guys work so hard in the hot weather. I was happy to help a little!ELIZABETH S.
You just need to change the uhaul page for this location. I almost had to inconvenience my driver and have him drop the truck off next day because your site said drop off ended at 5:30pm. This is a 24 hr location and should say so on your site. I only knew because I called and spoke to the attendant.Christina R.

The manager at this location is a piece of work. Not only was he rude and accusatory over the phone, but he had the audacity to accuse me of getting into an accident with the truck and said he was going to file a police report against me all for a faulty ramp. The truck itself was not harmed nor was it involved in any sort of accident. The ramp itself is faulty and does not go fully back into the ramp bed on the truck. The truck itself has seen better days and probably needs to be repaired. This location needs to learn the meaning of customer service. U-Haul, please work on your quality control here. This location does not have any regard for their customers and I would never recommend this location to anyone.Robert L.

I was a bit surprised by the location at a gas station, but the van and the rental process all went smoothly and everyone was very nice, and clearly explained everything. It would be helpful if the website noted that there was no parking for personal vehicles, but the owner did call me the day before to make sure I knew that.Jennifer M.

Stop trying to force the customer the insurance policyâ€" when they've denied the offer multiple times. It's rude and inconsiderate to try to enforce your clients to sign up for the insurance when they've decided not to; especially in a degrading + scare-like tactic way.Giang T.

Called me 15 minutes before pickup and said there was no parking and I couldn't leave a car there, so I had to scramble to find a ride for both pickup and drop-off. It was very stressful and inconvenient. I took photos of open parking spots during both pickup and drop-off, so I'm not sure why I couldn't park there, which I have done in the past.Daniel W.
The app on Android is terrible. Kept dropping back to the beginning after taking pictures during the drop-off process. Took 6 tries to get thru it. It ruins a good customer experience.Jeff G.

The owner was very rude. I took it back with a full tank and because I didn't fill it up at his gas station and he "didn't see me fill it up" he wanted a receipt to prove I filled it up. I've never been treated so horrible. I rent all over the usa and have never been asked to prove I put gas. He got upset, got in his car and literally sped off screeching his tires. Explain why you have to bring truck back with same amount of gas as when you leave, then pay 89cents per mile also. It is not right.richard B.
I happen to rent the same van I rented a couple of days ago! In both cases, there was a strange smell in the vehicle. It sounded like one of the previous renters moved animals by the vehicle). But since the van was â€œcleanâ€ I selected the clean option. Also, the instructions for getting the vehicle key was not accurate.Hossein H.

I originally scheduled my pick up in Haverhill for 10am and they failed to complete the reservation so I was told to pick up my truck in Billerica. I get to the Billerica location check in with the mobile app and they never left the keys so the wantedof course no one was there so I called the traffic number and they said well we have a truck in Salisbury so here it is almost 12noon and I proceed to drive to Salisbury within 10 minutes of leaving Billerica they told me to return to the Billerica location that someone would be forced to give me the keys so I drive back and had to wait another 45min to finally get the keys so here it is almost 2pm before I get on the road and all the gave me was a $100 credit when i should have also been given a credit on the milage I had to use in order to get the truck from haverhill to Billerica and back since I did not choose the Billerica location from the beginning...I didnt get home until 2am from moving that day...worst customer service ever i will never do business with uhaul again.Jasmine A.

I think that the owner of East Billerica Shell is a rude person, His employees were great and I had no problem with those guys. The owner on the other hand made the experience of returning the trailer frustrating! I will NEVER rent from East Billerica Shell again!!! It's not the employees its the OWNER!!
