Kathleen MEvery time I get a truck or visit the store are not clean enough to feel comfortable. On February 23 I get a truck and they charge me $29 for 15 L of gas. I always put more gas on the trucks that I rent. I call to see what’s my options and the manager hung up on me.

robert hNot charge for a damage waiver then make them pay when the vehicle is damaged through no means of their own. Plus ensure the location has proper winter preparation as both my wife and I fell in the parking lot which was coated with ice and had not been salted or sanded. My arm was injured and my wife's ankle was injured from the lack of property maintenance.
Richard MPlease make sure that your trucks have wiper fluid, but otherwise everything was fine and presentable. Clerks were very helpful, and deserve raises.

However, if there are going to be issues with renting the vehicles outside of the location's operating hours, then this should be communicated to the customer so that they don't try to pick up the rental when it's apparently impossible. To be clear, everyone I dealt with at the location was extremely pleasant and helpful. I am simply cautioning any future customers to be mindful if they happen to book something out of hours. It might be useful to check in with the location itself to ensure pickup will be possible, rather than trusting whatever long-distance representative sets up the rental - since that was apparently my downfall!

mark sBased on my personal experience, the attendant was rude and not polite at all. He came across as if he was forced to be at work. The 26' truck that he gave me was the dirtiest vehicle that I have ever driven. When I complained about how dirty the truck was, his response was "If you don't want it, I'll refund you your money. It's not my duty to clean the truck". I found that strange, especially when he could have swapped it for another clean truck parked nearby.
Anthony MI believe; 1) Having a secure locking system for trailers so customers need not worry about theft would be so helpful. A simple latch with built in smart lock function connected to a phone app, to track the location or when the trailer is unhooked or tempered with would be a perfect upgrade for 2024! 2) For U-Haul locations, it may be nice if on-site pets can be on leash. Another approach would be to add the Warning sign of "Pet on premise" to U-Haul booking portal so customer is aware and can pick a different suitable location when booking a pick up or drop off location early if needed. At the in-person pick-up this had not been pointed out, and I had not expected/found the text that was sent advising me of this process until well after the rental was returned. Customer service response was great and quick when I did what I could to rectify this after the fact.

The people involved between getting the keys for the truck and the movers were very polite and very quick with everything!

Benjamin PHave the fuel full at the start, so when customer is refueling before drop off they simply refill and don't have to read an info sheet to figure out how much it will take to have it at the same amount as when it was picked up eg. 5/8 of a tank.

And when I questioned it, they said we needed to sweep it after you.. I have pictures taken and it shows that the inside was exactly the same as I took it from you and still no refund!!

dan gThe owner had a bunch of ridiculous signs posted with the UHaul logo on the top that 100% are not approved by the company. Extra charges for improper sweeping etc that are NOT listed on the website. That said, the owner was respectful.

Shane MI was charged $25 cleaning fee after I returned the truck, I asked the person who handles this case to show me the picture of "what's not swept out" in the truck, I got no response. I don't smoke or drink at cab, I offloaded everything from trunk. And when I returned the truck, it was " keys, OK you are good to go". Why did this happen?

Wendy HThe u-haul itself: under it front part was flopping, under it metal part was dragging to the ground, we had to temporarily fix it. Another note- might be normal, when driving the heavy load and going down slight hill, the rpm would go up 4-5… it felt strange. In normal cases you slow down, stop whilst the rpm goes lower. Thought I’d mention it. Otherwise good. We swept, but got paid cleaning fees. After 2 phone calls & u-haul recognizing the fees were not needed, we got reimbursed.
MARIE-FRANCE MThis location said I was 15 minutes late returning my rental according to the time on the contract, so I will be charged an additional days rental. The night before I arrived at the counter at 7:10 pm to arrange rental. The customer rep hooked up the trailer and took picture at 7:30, which is the time I left the location with the trailer. The next day I arrived back at the location at 7:25 pm, 15 minutes late according to them. I couldn’t believe that they would charge me an additional days rental. After app 20 minutes of back and forth discussion, with no attempt at all on their part to provide any customer support, they then said the trailer was still not returned as it’s not considered returned until they disconnect the trailer and take a picture and show it returned on the system via his cell phone! So according to them the rental period started when I arrived at the counter, not when I left with it. However, the return doesn’t happen when I arrive back at the counter, but rather after they disconnect and inspect it. You can’t have it both ways! They blamed it all on U-HAUL’s system and that they could do nothing to help me. They gave me a number to call the next day. The customer rep on the phone was pleasant and helpful and ensured I was charged for just one day. I believe that the local representative should have the leeway to make reasonable decisions in cases like mine.
