We booked a van for 8 didn’t get anyone until 9 and then they came at 9:10 for the van not to work and we were given a truck after another 20 min we were freezing and this was terrible service

Make the return of the rental easier. App wouldn't work, website wouldn't work, live chat told me to call the 1-800 number, called and they told me to go into the location, which I did and it was closed even though it said open. Tried to return trailer for 45 minutes. Called 1-800 # again and she just told me to take pictures and leave the trailer and at some point the location would email me. Very stressful. Would absolutely not recommend renting from uhaul.

Check the vehicles once they’re returned before renting out. Actually open the located during your posted operating hours or AT LEAST answer the phone during said hours. Overcharged for fuel because the previous person lied and it was never checked. Got vehicle with numerous cans of opened alcohol in the cab of the truck. Returned truck with the same fuel amount as I left. Tried to call location for 30min straight an hour after opening and no one answered before even leaving with truck

No one was at the location. It’s open at 8am, several people were there at 8:15am, no employee was there. You walk into the mall and it’s hard to find, the staircase going from where you enter from to the location was blocked off and we couldn’t find it at first. So we called the number and the employee named Abby (if that’s even his name) was extremely rude as if we should know where the location was, when we had never been there before. Then we finally find it, the gate to the store is closed… so why even bother giving us (bad) directions to find it, if you were just going to do it over the phone? He rudely asks if we even have a reservation, which we obviously do. The issue is now, we needed a hitch to go with our trailer, which in the past when we’ve rented trailers has been no issue at all to rent, but of course, no one is here… So we then had to go buy a hitch, which we don’t really need, so spending more money than necessary. He then tells me it’s one guy who does 2 locations and “he can’t be in two places at the same time”. Like are you kidding me? How is that your customer’s problem? Hire someone, to be there, when your store is open. And fire this idiot, because he’s extremely rude and I’ll be telling anyone who will listen not to come to this location. It was absolutely ridiculous process and we’ve never had such a bad experience with U-Haul before.

One factor in particular was absolutely horrible and ruined the entire experience: your employee. He didn’t show up until half an hour after you were supposed to be open already, and left at least an hour and 15 minutes before you were supposed to close. He also didn’t come close to providing decent customer service when he eventually did show up… You ask what you can do to improve for the next customer? I have one simple suggestion: fire the employee who poorly represents your brand and makes the customers experience a disaster.

The storefront was closed. Zero indication how to complete transaction remotely. Did not answer phone when I called. Was absolutely rude, racist , ignorant and unprofessional on the phone when he finally did answer his phone after I had to call costumer support. Overall a horrible experience

The store was closed when I arrived, even though it was suppose to be open. The employee was then about 20 minutes late. None of my information was saved online despite me putting it all in to save time, as requested. I had to request items I had ordered online as for some reason there was no information saved. Not a great experience for my first time using uhaul.

Made a booking at Whimsical Emporium for 8:30AM Nov 24th. Arrived at 8:10 and I used the app to find that "equipment" wasn't ready and to call a number. Called the number, agent answered and stated no one would be there until 9AM. I mentioned I didn't have time and to see if another location would be able to help me. Was told that this Bayfield location would have someone there at 8:00AM and said there would be a Cargo van ( what I needed - NOT a 10ft truck as I was loading my furniture from tight spaces). I double checked with the agent and she said yes ( I understand that there's no real way of verifying, however a call to the store would have probably confirmed). Once I got there, no one was there and called the number to be told that no one would show up until 10:00AM, even though Google says 8:00AM. Someone contacted me saying they'd be there in 15 minutes. After arriving this person helped me as fast as they could as I was already late. Unfortuntaely, he was unable to find the keys to the Cargo van and gave me a 10ft truck. This was a huge inconvenince for the locations I was picking up my furniture, additionally, I my trip was over 200KM so the gas cost difference between the two were huge. I don't necessarily blame this location as they accomdated me on extremely short notice, but the overall experience was unfair given I booked everything in advance.

The uhaul helpers you recommend on your site never showed up or contacted me. I was unable to contact them. When I contacted UHaul, your only solution was to request a refund. This is not a very good solution for seniors who are moving and really needed that help. Luckily I was able to hire another company to unload my truck but it was at twice the cost. UHaul needs to do better wrt companies it promotes on its web site.

Have the vehicle ready before reservations are made, finding out on my way to pick up the equipment that the pickup location has changed was extremely frustrating and cased is to have a very late start.

The person working at the location when I picked up the vehicle berated me for arriving an hour late to pick up. The location was closed when I returned the vehicle at 1pm on a weekday and I received a call from him. Once again berating me for where I left the keys and other odd concerns. I will not rent from this location or u-haul ever again.

There was no body there at the location when I arrived, so I had to wait 20 minutes. The young man was very polite and dealt with me very professionally. I needed an adaptor for the lights and there were none at this location, I had to shop at the Canadian tire store to buy this part . They were out of stock so I had to call the uhaul rep. And ask him to bring me one. I then had to wait more than 45 mins so what an afternoon of waiting. I suggest that these trailer are equipped with the light cords needed to do the job I was expecting $ 30.00 and it ended up costing me another $33.97 for the light cord adapter.

We arrived exactly at 9:30 (our scheduled time) and no one was around. We waited almost 10 mins for the sole employee to show up. The lack of a POS machine - everything was done through a cell phone - made paying cumbersome. We also had a lot of trouble with our BMO MasterCard, which they said happens often with BMO customers. Finally, the truck cab had obviously not been cleaned in a while and was sticky and dirty. Overall it took about half an hour to get our rental, when it should only take a fraction of that time. Do better, UHaul.

The location has no signage from the street. They locked up an hour before my appointment and I had to do the registry electronically through my phone. They overcharged me, and I'm still arguing the fees. There was no leveling Jack on the tongue and the tongue had about 100 lb weight on it. For a 70 year old that's difficult.

Overcharged, van dirty, garbage everywhere, all tires were under recommended pressure and warning on dash (40-60 spi instead of 80!), smelled bad inside, charged insurance, did not reserve with insurance, and still trying to get my money back for that!

pick-up scheduled more than a week in advance for 8am (store opens at 8am). on arrival at 8am, store closed/locked. called another location at 8:30 am and was assured someone was on the way ~ 10 minutes. Still no one showed up. Called again at 8:45 and was again told that someone was on the way but that I could go ahead an hitch up to the trailer. Finally rep showed up at 9am and completed paperwork so I could get on with my day. No apology. No offer of compensation for my time and frustration. Definitely not recommending this location.

Arrived to pick up rental vehicle at 8:50 a.m., since the location supposedly opened at 9:00 a.m. Location was locked. Called U-Haul toll-free number at 9:00 a.m. and they said someone should be there. Finally, at 9:14 a.m., someone arrived. The same happened with the return. Arrived at 3:30 p.m. to return vehicle (which was due back before 4:00 p.m.) to find location locked. Again called toll-free customer service line. Waited 15 minutes before someone answered the call. When they did answer, I was told to leave the keys in the drop-box...which was nowhere to be seen, as I explained to the representtive on the phone. She had to contact the owner to find out where the drop-box was. It ended up being located nowhere near the rental location. The entire experience seemed quite disorganized.

1st 2 trucks ac didn't work, 3rd one worked, but the box of truck smelt like animal pee and garbage. Then had issues dropping Truck off with no one to help, when finally got bill, was charged for stuff I didn't ask for

Was stressful to get the box open and all the pictures and steps would be very difficult for some. The lock box drop off could be a foot or 2 lower for shorter people. The lock to get the key was difficult. The ride was very rough, no suspension and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The phone support was top notch however and appreciated the help otherwise we wouldn’t have succeeded on picking up our new couch. Thank you to the phone support. The online steps continued to freeze and struggled with completing the drop off steps required. All and all I wouldn’t use the Bayfeild location again. Too complaicated.

I have included a dolly in the reservation and the equipment was not available inside the truck. The office was closed even though it was a weekday at 10AM. On top on the huge incovinience, I have made a note in the payment process but uhaul charged me for the dolly anyway. I'm never going to use uhaul again.

Absolutely terrible service. Rude and ignorant person working at this location. I arrived to pick up my truck at 8am. No one was there. I had to call at 8:15am to be told to go to the parking lot and wait for the person. He arrived at almsot 8:30 and proceeded to tell me he wouldn't take me inside to pay with my visa debit and acted very inconvenienced that I arrived , because " Everyone else does mobile pick up". An option that wasn't even offered to me. It gets worse whe I returned the truck to the same location after having to extend the time. Again rude, ignorant, refused to even come to the truck to check it. Then called me as I was on my way home, to accuse me of not filling it to the appropriate amount of gas. Which I had. I even told him that the gas cap was rusty and hard to use so he shoulld check it for the next person. I told him I didn't want to deal with him anymore and to email me the alleged extra charges and I would call customer service. He then said "I'll just send you to collections" and hung up. There is even more to the story, but I'm too tired to care. Garbage service as usual. A monopoly at its finest.

Had a reservation book ahead of time. Pick up for 9:00 - arrived..no one at office. Called the number-- man answred and said he would drive in to assist me- i had given my vida debit card for reservation..upon pick up the man was rude and insisted i used a credit card- he was doing this all from a sidewalk on his cell phone while complaining that his cell phone may die and he wouldnt be abke to complete my reservation. He was 45 minutes late to give my rental ovet. Messed up my whole timeline for the move- when returning the vehicle i called same man and asked where to leave the keys. He got extremely rude and told me to not call after hours (this was 5:30 in the afternoon) He wouldn't not stop getting mad at me because I asked where to leave the keys. I had to terminate the call. This man was horrible. Beyond unprofessional. Rude. Late.. accusatory..dressed in track pants and his verbal abuse was evident from the first contact. This man shoud absolutely NOT be representing Uhaul. This was a very poor representation of customer service let alone simply doing his job. I will never recommend this location. The whole service was deplorable. Ive reached out to corporate as well. Have someone call me please who actually cares. 647 300 9854.

It was easy to drop at this location , but as there is no office or attendant on site it may leave some situations vulnerable. Parking lot is very messy due to WInter service and snow clearing leaving debris. Not Uhaul fault , just the location and time of year.

The app stalled when checking in. Despite several restart attempts, we had to wait for the office to open. At posted opening time 8:30, no one showed. We called 3 times. Didn’t show for 30 minutes. No furniture blankets were provided. Had to go back to the office to ask. We had reserved 2 dozen—2 unkept ones were offered. The gas cap on the truck had been torqued so tight, we had to scramble for a large wrench to fuel the truck—tank was empty. The truck cab was littered with a cigarette box and fast food lunch trash. Engine light was on constantly. Driver’s seat belt kept jamming. Terrible experience overall.

1st of all the weather was crappy that day, I was late, and I was made to feel like oh your appt was for 10 but it's 1045. The truck inside was clean and the heat worked. I was told I needed a credit card after the fact because they don't do debit. I was left with NO windshield washer fluid and had a horrible drive. I wasted extra miles to find multiple gas stations to find fluid as everywhere was sold out. So I have a receipt for $15 that I would like to submit as I shouldn't have to maintain the vehicle. I was not shown to make sure I knew how all of the vehicle functioned. The mirrors didn't move or at least I was scared to break them if I tried. So the drive was less than stellar and I was scared when I needed to change lanes as my mirrors were not set properly. I had to bring my own snow brush to clean off the truck and the back door was frozen. It took some strength to get it open, but I managed. Overall, I didn't feel like a customer, more like $$ to them. Also I didn't know I had to take photos after my return and I returned the key before I did the return the truck survey. So the pictures are not accurate. The mileage and gas gauge are accurate but again no photo. Overall not a good experience.

The only issue I really had was we couldn't get the lock open very easily. If I had been alone I wouldn't have been able to do it. The location is a tough one because a lot of scary people hang out at the back of that mall but I feel an accessible location on Bayfield is imperative

Behind a mall..we're people seem to hang around after close right by drop box and lock box...used Condom beside truck and empty beer can ...felt like wearing a hazard suit befor I got in the back of truck...nothing was inside .thank god....horrible location very long process on line pick up ..that was not discussed when I had booked the truck...will find another option next time...
