We always choose this location for truck rentals based on the ease of pick up
Kenneth CI had a truck reservation, i was late for pickup, i still thought that it's reserved on my name but the representative there let me know that it's gone already and only available was van and i had to take the van instead. I called customer service they denied for guarantee $50 for reserved equipment not available.

JOHN BI had not rented a U-Haul in Whitby before (only once previously in Peterborough), so I wasn't sure if the process would be as easy as it seemed online. Thankfully, it was! The experience from booking online all through pick-up and drop-off, was super easy and wonderful. The two people who worked at the DGT Home Improvements location were SO lovely. The woman who checked us in was fast, friendly, and ensured we were aware of all the necessary information before leaving. The man who helped us with the truck was also really friendly and helpful - he had dusted the snow off the van twice, which was really helpful! He ensured we were comfortable with the truck and had any questions, and reiterated where to drop the keys off when we were done. Pick up was super smooth, and the drop-off was as well. We parked the van back in it's spot and headed up to hand-in the keys. We took a picture of the dashboard (for mileage and gas gauge) and he was so appreciative of it. Apparently we had also met our mileage estimate exactly, which he had never seen and made for a really funny interaction overall. Great people, and everything was flawless and efficient - highly recommend and will be using the service again for any future moving needs (and will recommend to others!). Thank you so much!

LUKE HUsing The app to do a mobile check in is glitchy and takes way to long. The app is just shit overall and needs some serious work. Not sure why the app is asking me to rewrite/resubmit answers I already provided before when booking the truck?
Nirsan VVery poor lighting at the back of the building where the uHaul trucks are parked. When picking up after hours using the mobile app, the instructions state that the equipment number (TM number) is located at the bottom left of the truck - It is located at the TOP RIGHT on the back of the truck. When retrieving the truck key, enter the 4 digit word/code and firmly press down on the lever while yanking on the lock (since they are outside, they tend to seize up).

TIMOTHY SI used the truck share app and , frankly, it was useless! After spending over 20 minutes setting up the account and talking with your staff, who were not helpful, I was told I had to go inside to the office to get the keys. Kind of defeats the purpose of remote check-in, doesn't it? I get to the office just to find that the attendant is out for lunch and I had to wait even longer to get the keys, while using remote check-in. THEN, when returning the truck, I was only told the app expected pictures of the vehicle AFTER I had dropped the keys in the drop-box. Would have been useful to give me that tidbit of advice BEFOREHAND! Frankly, completely disgusted with the overall experience.

KRISTIN FDisastrous pickup. Told to be there at 8am, no staff there, not open until 9. We came back at 9 & they had given away our truck because we weren't there at 8! Another customer volunteered to give up the van they had booked as they were waiting for an upgrade! If we have a choice, will never deal with this company again. Staff rude & unprofessional as hell!

Had an amazing experience - super helpful, knowledgeable and informative. All staff made pick up and return a smooth experience.

Travis MDo your job properly. Incompetent workers who are either high on drugs or smelling like alcohol. Clean this place up and do better. I rented a cargo van with 1997km and returned it with 2199km. I get a receipt saying I drove 999km. Please tell me how I drove an additional 800km with only pumpin $56 of gas.

Daniel GI have had the worst customer service experience of my life from u-haul during a very big and stressful cross-province move. I booked a one-way and was transferred to this location specifically for that reason, because they offer one-way rentals. I was informed two days before that it was a return booking and the truck needed to return to this location the next day, which was physically impossible due to travelling to a different province. I spent nearly 72 hours trying to reach anyone at u-haul to fix this issue and only got through after two hours on hold while on the road. I was spoken to with unacceptable accusatory language and told "tough luck" and to bring the truck back the next day- something not only inconvenient but very unsafe for the driver. Eventually my mother was able to speak to someone who assured her in writing that the truck could be returned on Monday before 2pm with NO additional charges. This was made very clear. When the truck was returned within this timeframe, I was hit with an additional $950 charge: for mileage to RETURN the truck which was originally to be a one way. This exceeded the limit of my credit card which is now suspended. I called u-haul and was told they cannot discuss the contract with me, the mover, credit card holder, and account holder, because the driver (Mr. Irwin) is the contract holder and must provide permission. This issue remains unresolved and many attempts to contact u-haul to resolve this issue have been unsuccessful. I will be consulting my lawyer regarding the entire awful, inexcusable, and unnecessarily stressful experience. I will forever find alternatives to u-haul in the future, and warn anyone else to do the same.
SCOTT Ii was really disappointed in that i booked my truck with AMPLE lead time (3 weeks). On the day of my rental i was told that i had been downgraded to the smallest truck on the lot. i was moving a 4 bedroom house!!!! i then as a result had to take 3x as long to do the move. to further the insult i get a call from the rental location (whitby ontario) that i have to be back 'ONT TME' because someone is waiting for the truck!

I have had negative experiences in the past with U-Haul (not this location) but it seems like the company is turning things around. Michael.

Melinda BThe gentleman that was on duty was VERY helpful. I have booked/ rented from this location several times the last few months for local moves as we lived in the neighborhood. My most recent rental got "reassigned " last minute to an Ajax location and we did not have time to get there. He was very kind and offered to put us in a bigger truck he had at the same cost and the process was very smooth.
Nicholas Tthis location was fine, but uhaul overall was a poor experience. After having a reservation made three weeks prior, I had to go to three different locations because there was no one working at the other two locations, despite my set of keys being in the building rather than in the lockboxes. They also decided to overcharge me by $70 extra. Will not be recommending to anyone.

Stewart JThere was no box dolly available. There were only 8 blankets available. The truck I picked up was supposed to have just under 1/2 a tank of gas. I got in - and it actually had only just over 1/4 of a tank. I called a left a voicemail immediately to let you know. I put $25 of fuel back in the truck after my very short move, and returned the truck with exactly the amount of fuel when i picked it up - yet because you thought or the previous person said it was at just under half, I was charged a fuel charge - I am disputing the fuel charge.

BRIAN GI tried many many times to use your App bit got an error every time and the staff at my oick up location could not assist. This was very frustrating
