The woman behind the desk was rude and abrupt. The gentleman who gave me the keys, stood 8 feet away and reach his hands out with the keys, they were both short and rude in the manner of speaking, neither of which I felt appropriate for customer service. I will never rent a truck from this location again. If this is how all U-Hauls operate I will not rent a U-Haul truck again.

The truck's steering was too loose requiring continuious corrections; I'd rate that as a hazard for a less experienced driver! Too, the headlights were seriously misaligned so that the night-time driving required the high beams, which were so badly set that I had to drive 20 mph under the speed limit when there was no traffic in front of the truck . I'd rate the equipment as seriously flawed and poorly maintained !

Picked up the truck 4 hours after originally requested time due to cancellation of original reservation that I made on November 4th. Had no call or email to follow up cancellation but got a text 3 days before pickup. Ended up getting truck at Antioch location. Requested Dolly and blankets. No dolly provided even though I saw several in there garage and only provided 6 of the two dozen blankets I asked for. Was in a hurry to pick up Car Dolly at secondary location in Concord. Did not initially check back of truck in Antioch. When I got to Concord opened the back to get a heavy whiff of chemical smell that was still on the floor. Was some sort of corrosive as it was bubbling the floor. In addition was not cleaned out because there was a thin layer of residue that I cleaned up. My boxes and furniture now smell of the chemicals. The manager at the Concord location document the condition of the van. I called the Antioch location concerning this and all they could tell me was her husband didn't check the back. Concord manager was going to document pictures and description in my file.

My issue is that I returned a truck and someone broke into it after it was already returned and dumped trash into it and stole the moving blankets. I asked for video footage of the uhaul after it was returned so they could see this was not of my doing and I was given excuses and never shown the footage. Instead, I was charged $400+ dollars for a one day rental! I will absolutely never do business here again.

I had my car window smashed, stereo stolen, and other items stolen while parked outside the Uhaul dealer. I suffered over $1,000 in theft and damage to my car. I was told that it was the first time in 26 years that it happened. I would not recommend other customers to park at this location.

The lady was very rude at check in. When reserving, it didn't say the hours of operation. I reserved a truck for 12pm. Was running late because of moving issues. Got there at about 2 and the lady that assisted was just overall very rude. She informed me I was late, by saying “YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO BE HERE AT 12!” And throughout the whole process of checking in, very rude. Won't be coming back here again or recommending to anyone. I understand I was late, but life happens and again, online it didn't say the hours of operation when I was reserving. Learn some customer service skills.

I drove from SF to Brentwood to pick up a 15' Truck. When I got there I was told “sorry that truck was already reserved for someone else”. I had given this Uhall company my credit card number over the phone, Prior to my arrival. And they refused to give me the truck.

The customer service was poor. I went to pick up my truck and was there for over 50 minutes because mobile pickup was not available. This was not explained at all and was a huge inconvenience. The lady in the office was also not friendly or customer focused.

Customer service is everything! The establishment does nothing to exhibit that they care anything about the customer. VERY, VERY rude, never answers the phone & literally flipped me off (with a neck roll and hand gestures) when I had questions about closing hours. Also, I spoke to her the day before my pickup and she said she had the utility dolly. On the day of pickup, there was no dolly so I had to purchase a new one. If she told me that the day prior, I would have borrowed my friend's hand truck. I do not recommend this company! If you want to be treated with some level of respect & common courtesy, I suggest you rent elsewhere.

After I reserved a truck online, I received a call from the location where I was picking up the truck. I was told I would be doing an after hours pick up and would receive an email/text with instructions. I arrived at the location and no truck had been reserved for me, even after receiving a confirmation email. I had to call the 1-800 number twice before I could proceed with the self-pick up. I was guided online and located the truck. The guided to where the key should've been. There was no key inside the lock box. I clicked on the link indicating the I couldn't find the key and was instructed to called another phone number, which I did. I explained my situation and was out on hold. At this point I also texted a friend to pick me up since the location was closed and there was no key. As I was still on hold, someone came out of the residence in front of the uhaul business and out a key inside the lockbox I had looked for a key. He then told me that key was for me after verifying my online reservation. That whole ordeal took over an hour, which caused me to lose time using the truck that day! I then realized that the truck was due at noon after my 2-day rental. I originally scheduled the pick up at 3pm and was told it was due at 1pm, two days later. I ended getting the truck after 4pm, and it was now due at noon...made no sense! When I returned the truck, I explained what had occurred when picking up the truck and asked for some compensation. The employee declined and blamed the incident on the uhaul the self-pick up software. That didn't make any sense to me, since someone from that location called me and said there would be a truck reserved for, which there wasn't! That sounds like a human error.

Give a price and availability that you are willing to go with. A cancellation 14 hours prior to pick up (a Sunday) was unsatisfactory. The “quoted” price climbing by almost 70% was unsatisfactory.

I had the most difficult u haul experience. I want to say that the customer service agents I worked with over the phone to book me were very good. However my pick up location was changed the day before to a location 50 minutes and 33 miles out of my way both there and back (66 miles total). Then I get to the location in the morning and they don't have the truck. The Stockton Uhaul at Alpine clothing did not confirm with the Oakdale uhaul at sinclair gas station that there was an availabkle u haul. Then I was redirected to another uhaul 67 miles out of my way. then I had to go 67 miles back to where i was supposed to pick up in stockton. I went 200 miles out of my way. Absolutely unacceptable. I received $50 back for the failure to provide a uhaul and i deserve an additional $50 or the entire purchase voided because of this. I spent an addition 6 hours in the car because agents didn't do their job. You have to have these u haul locations call the customer and confirm that there is a u haul available. 5 other parties came to get their reserved u haul and there were none. Nobody is confirming if locations have the u haul. This is insane.

Next time I would like to be advised fully about the return truck after night service. Please let your customers know that they will need the key to complete the return after service. I was told there would be a key box and the return instructions are on the box. Well I put the key in the box first then went to my car to complete pull up the website then it explained I would need the key to take pictures of the odometer. Never ever again will I ever rent a uhual truck. I will go through home depot going forward. You robbed me of $20. You should be proud. As a customer service representative I would warn my customers and say please advised you will need the key to complete the return drop off service so please do not put the key in first. RIPE OFF!!!

I reserved a 5 x 9 trailer with ramp and it was not available when I went to pick it up. I had to rent a truck to move a refrigerator. Below is reservation. No one called me and I incurred more cost. A local U-Haul representative will call you by 6pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 to get agreement on and schedule available time, equipment and location. At the pickup location, Employee "forgot" to apply a military discount and told me to ask for it upon turn in. Also told me to ask for a credit since I paid for 5 days and only had it 24 hours. Employee at drop off refused to do either of these and told be the pickup location lied about any discounts. Should have received approximately $200

There's way too many steps to rent the uhaul without customer service. Finding the vehicle, using GPS location, taking multiple pictures.... It's way too difficult and there's gotta be a better system. I won't be renting Uhaul anymore until coronavirus is under control.

Accuracy of what the location offers and what the website says it offers needs to be fixed. Also, the woman who called me to make adjustments to my reservation due to the inaccuracy of the website was very rude to me on the phone twice, and then was abrupt and unfriendly when I went to pick up the Van. I will NEVER rent from this location again, and I will deter my friends from doing so.
