The location itself is fine, the owners/operators seemed like decent folk. What I do have issue with is the fact that I live in Pleasant Hill, 5 minutes away from Uhaul concord, and after reserving equipment at that location, having it changed, canceling it, spending a half hour on the phone with a Uhaul representative, booking an additional reservation and still having it changed locations. What would have been a 10 minute drive to get and return the equipment turned into over 2 hours out of my way! That's absolutely absurd that I cannot pick a location closer to me, nor could anyone tell me what equipment would be available at concord for me to rent. Not sure who handles these reservations for the greater area but some changes need to be made.Jack P.

They market the fuel at 3/8 which was between 3/8 and a quarter. I returned the truck with the exact amount of gas and was charged for 3 gallons of gas after I checked the truck in. I wasn't aware of the charge until I received an email from uhaul with the charge. I called to dispute the charge and was put on hold for over an hour. Finally had to hang up because my cell phone battery was out of juice. In addition I was rerouted to Antioch which was 35 miles from Danville which was the location I originally reserved.STEPHEN K.

My review is based off of Uhaul as a whole and not specifically this location. Made reservations for pick up in Oakley a week prior. Received notification the day before stating my reservation has moved to Pittsburg due to the truck not being available. Go to Pittsburg and I'm told they do not have the truck I reserved available and that I need to call 1-800-UHAUL. After being on the phone for 30 minutes I'll told yo go to Antioch and they will have my truck. When I arrived there was a long line and I had to wait in the hot sun for an hour and half. Horrible experience all together. I'm not sure why I didn't receive a reservation in the first place for Antioch as they had an abundance of trucks available.MARK B.

We have used this same location for over 15 years and will never go back. When I rented the Uhaul online I rented for a 24 hour period and received my confirmation for the size of truck I needed. The day before pick up I received a call to confirm my reservation and was told I could only have the truck until 2:30? I let them know I needed the truck until the time I rented it and she said no and basically I needed it back by 2:30 as they rented it to someone else. Upon picking up the Uhaul as we did the online check in I followed all the instructions and it stated I had the truck from 5:30 to 5:30 the following day. The next day at about 2:45 I received a message a customer was waiting for the vehicle. I tried to call back no answer so we took the Uhaul back before 5:30 and was greeted with a man and the first thing he states as if I am a child "Nanci your late" I let him know No we had the rental for 24 hours and he gets ruder and says nope you had till 2:30. I let him know when we did online it stated to 5:30 he than said dispatcher told you 2:30 we went back and forth and finally I said how much money are we haggling over he said $30 dollars and I will admit I was heated as he was beyond rude. I told him charge the card the $30 and used not nice words as he could care less about a customer and let him know we moved a disabled vet all day and needed the full 24 hours he then took his hat started to show me he his a vet and it isn't Veterans Day? I didn't know we honor a Vet 1 day a year and try telling that to a Veteran as we all know they served more than 1 day to keep us safe! I have never been so appalled and get it is a business but I rented for 24 hours and shouldn't I receive a prorate and refund back for not getting the vehicle for the time I confirmed. I will never go back and a shame that this man checks vehicles in as I am sure he is the owner and could care less about this review. I will make sure if anyone ever asks where to rent to never ever give him a dime! He should be ashamed as he comes off right away unprofessional and rude! Just so he knows my Dad served 20 years in the Navy and is paralyzed from his service and a true Vet would have compassion for fellow Vets! He didn't need to take his hat off and start waving it at me and berate me! I am not asking for a hand out but you don't call someone and cut there time short the day before a move especially when most people organize a move and more so for me it was the timing in getting my Dads bed over last when he was able to be transported. The practice of Self Vehicle Inspection before a customer driving a U-Haul off the lot must come to a STOP. Pre-determining Vehicle Body Damage using Website Pictures versus Visual Eye Inspection does not work. This practice leaves a large Gray Area which U-Haul is lazily throwing at its customers by signing a release of liability after inspection; this feels like a set up for legal disagreements down the road. U-Haul should be using a Physical Employee along with the customer to conduct visual inspection of vehicles before coming to an agreement of what is already damaged before releasing the truck to its customers; I believe this is what your competitors are practicing. And yes, it is worth paying a higher daily rate on a truck being rented to go through this procedure versus the legal headaches it may cause for both parties involved.ADRIAN P.
I reserved the truck online for 8 hrs picking up at 9am and was called 2 days before moving to say i had to return the truck ar 230pm and have the option to pick up at 7am. I would of cancelled if it wasnt 2 days before moving. Also i was not told about the self check in process when arrived at 30 min which took 30 mins to do. Will never rent from here againKelly P.
I've Never given a bad review before, but the treatment I received at this location was excessive & rude. I rented a small size pick up & 1-dollie. In removing an item of furniture the dollie scraped the top if the plastic liner near the tailgate. When I returned the truck & dollie the owner was visibly & verbally angry about some scratches to the liner. He told me his wife should not have rented that particular dollie due to the possibility of it scraping the bed liner. I didn't dispute that I should help reimburse for the scratches. But despite charging me an additional $80 for scratches to the liner, he continued to repeat several times how I should have known better to rent a different dollie. He spent the better part of 20 minutes continuing to complain about the scratches & having someone come out to take photos. As soon as he pointed them out I agreed to take some responsibility. My only comment was that I didn't realize his wife recommended the wrong dollie. I told her up front what I was moving & asked for her to recommend which size dollie I needed. I assumed she knew what I should use for my job. I not only paid to replace a perfectly good bed liner. As well, I don't feel I should have been charged to completely replace the liner when it had a few minor scratches & is completely useable. I apologized but feel I more than paid for my inexperience in the manner I was treated & what I paid for in charges & insults..DENISE M.
