U-Haul changed both my pickup and drop off locations for this rental without confirming with me via phone beforehand and I waited on hold several times and got nowhere. I was finally able to return where I had scheduled after waiting on hold and getting it updated. This rental experience was miserable because of the pickup and drop off logistics and inability to get through to anyone on the phone. Waited on hold over 30 minutes on multiple occasions. U-Haul needs to not change pickup or drop off locations and add staff to answer phones. I have used U-Haul several times and these issues happen far too often. I will not be a U-Haul customer again.Paul C.

Check-in and pick-up went great. But there was a bug/loop in the app user flow for returning the vehicle. I kept uploading a photo of the odometer, and then the app would give me a "please upload a photo of the odometer" message, and prevent me from advancing in the process.Michael D.

We were charged for 10 pads that we reserved but they were out of when we went to pick up the rental. We requested a credit and the man there said he had to call his boss. When we returned the truck later in the day still no response and the charge was on our bill. We will be calling u haul corporate and also requesting a stop payment for this charge on our credit card. This should have been very simple and easy to remedy.Sally R.

Upon arrival in Denver, I called the 888 U-Haul # to find the nearest drop off location. It took almost an hour to get through!!! I finally talked to a pleasant representative who directed me to the drop off location at 4380 W 38th St. in Denver. I doubled checked the address and questioned the rep about the correct address and was told that they will be waiting for me. When I got to the address I went into the business and talked to the U-Haul person. He was very unpleasant and seemed put out with helping me. He told me I was at the wrong place and to go somewhere else. I told him to double check his computer. He did and said there was nothing to confirm my arrival. So I had to call back on the 888 number and it took over 20 minutes to get through again!!! The gal said there was an error in their system and that she fixed it. She said to return to the original drop off place. The same man was not interested in helping me. I had to keep asking for him to check again. Finally he found the info we needed and told me to drop off the trailer in front of his place. I told him that I needed help and he said it was my responsibility to dis-connect the trailer!! I told him I couldn's lift it alone. He was reluctant to help me!! He finally helped me lift the hitch off and didn't bother to inspect the trailer or offer a receipt. This was definitely the worst experience I have had with a service company in my life. I have worked for Fedex for 30 years and know what good customer service is. This particular business should be reprimanded. I wasted several hours of my time and effort dealing with this U-Haul drop off location. I expect feedback on this matter and would appreciate a call with an explanation. Anxiously awaiting your response. GraciasRick C.

Only 1 person was working and he was more focused on serving his Conoco and convenience store customers than focusing on us - and we were about to drive his equipment 2000 miles across country. It did not leave me feeling confident the equipment was ready for the drive - and everything was pulled together ad hoc. Disappointed.steven P.
Due to this location, the LACK of customer service I have received combined with the pick up problems I will be going out of my way to tell people not to use uhaul any longer. I walked in to return the truck and the man, who was on his cellphone, just kept waving his arms around at me; I didn't understand what he was trying to say. When I told him I was looking for help returning the truck, he said â€œNOâ€ and walked out with a bar and two locks. He tried to just take the key from me multiple times and said he would take care of it tomorrow. I repeatedly had to tell him no, that if he was taking the keys the entire transaction was being done now, not tomorrow. He then locked us out of the location and promptly ran away. We attempted to call uhaul customer service, and I was immediately put on hold (AND AM STILL ON HOLD! It's been an hour). We attempted to do the after hours drop box, which is broken, not attached to the wall and not lockable. We have still not gotten to speak to a customer service representativeâ€¦ despite still being on holdâ€¦ as I'm writing this. I'd highly recommend uhaul investigating this location further based purely off the NUMEROUS bad reviews it's received simply for their behavior around uhaul.Kristen C.

I was a little late picking up the truck, and the attendant was very courteous and understanding. In taking my payment to get me on the way your system did it again and CANCELED my reservation. This did not surprise me though since I have dealt with your company before and the reservation system was A FIASCO!. Anyway the attendant got it straightened out and I was able to accomplish my task. I believe the company needs to FIRE the reservation systems head. I have had nothing but trouble trying to rent from U-Haul as it relates to making and keeping reservations.Bob A.
The guy at the store was very rude and ugly to me you treating me like I was stupid I didn't appreciate it and then I was charged $120 all together I didn't mind the money being spent the thing is I didn't like the way I was treated ...... This location was a gas station /convince store which was run down with no air conditioning inside . The truck was what we rented but was not clean ,bugs plastered all over the windows and dirty face masks left on the dash . We wiped down the inside of the cab before we loaded it . I'm not sure why uhals are rented out with any other 3rd party companies . There not giving you the service you pay for .Duane P.

Uhaul cancelled my original reservation for a 15 foot truck. We had no idea it was cancelled until we got to the location and we're told we couldn't have that truck. In a bind and needing to move we were able to get a 10ft truck which meant we needed to make more trips. Due to this I was then charged for extra miles because we had a smaller truck. I wouldn't recommend using UHaul at all. I had the worst experience. You changed my pick up location. Fine. But then I get there and the app won't let me pick up my truck. The owner refused to help me and sent me somewhere else. They weren't even open. I call customer support and waited on hold for 27 minutes to get a rep. They sent me to the location listed here which was a 30 minute drive away. They couldn't find the keys. Once I started on the process with the app, the agent on chat kept denying approval because my verification contact had the same last name. It was my son and he was not on the reservation. It was a nightmare. I was 2.5 hours behind and so the people I had hired to load the truck had to leave and I was left loading with myself and my son. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience.Trudy J.

The man didn't want to rent me a truck at first but he said let me look to see what I had. He gave us a 10 inch footer but there was a 26 inch footer sitting there. The truck was a mess not cleaned and who every used just left the blankets thrown on the floor. We brought the truck well after 9:30. We shouldn't of been charged for after hours because I told this man I didn't know how long we need the truck. This is very unacceptable service I will never use this service at this place again..Carrie S.

This is a really odd drop off location. Not only is it just a gas station with no U-haul signage whatsoever, there is also no U-haul representative there. I did check in at the store instead of online thinking it was going to be faster and easier, but the person who was helping me took almost 20-25 mins to check me in when i already had all the information since the moment i booked the U-haul. Also the cup holder between the driver and passenger seat was dirty it seems someone spilled coffee on it and didn't clean it before returning the truck. Otherwise, everything was good.Juliana G.

Remove this location. The vendor does not speak English well, and CANCELED our original reservation despite a clear note provided by UHAUL to not do so. We were not a priority to him, and were incredibly frustrated with how our discounts disappeared. Additionally, the second security deposit we had to put for the second reservation was very taxing on our move. I demand my original discount AT LEAST.JONATHAN P.

On 3/14/21 I placed my order for a 10' truck, boxes, blankets, and dolley. I also purchased Safemore damage protection. The truck and supplies were to be picked up at the U Haul location at 2000 W. Lower Colfax Ave., Denver, CO. On 3/18/21 I received a phone call and email that the pickup location was moved to 4380 W. 38th Ave, Denver. On 3/20/21 we flew from St. Louis to Denver to pickup the truck and supplies. We arrived at the 38th Ave location which was a gas station. I had to tell the gas station attendant three times that I was here to pickup a truck. He said the truck was not ready because there was a padlock on the loading door, and that a U Haul employee would be by to take the lock off. After 15 minutes, the employee arrived and removed the lock. He was very upset with the gas station attendant and told him "to do his job" when he left. The employee never acknowledged me. The attendant gave me the keys to the truck and I told him I had ordered and paid for some boxes ,blankets, and dolley. He said he did not have any boxes and that I would have to pick them up at the Colfax location. He did give me the blankets and dolley. When I started the truck, the engine was EXTREMELY loud....like there was no muffler. When I pulled into the Colfax location parking lot, two U Haul workers came over because of the loud noise the trucking was making. They acknowledged that the truck was extremely loud and looked under the truck. They said the muffler looked secure and that it should be OK to drive. I told them I was driving 1,000 miles the next day but they said it would be OK. I went to the office and asked the assistant manager if I could get a different truck (I was more than glad to pay additional money for a truck that was not so loud.) She said no, that I would have to take the truck assigned to me. She also acknowledged that the truck was extremely loud. With no other options, I had to take the truck assigned to me. The next day, my wife and I drove the truck from Colorado to Indiana in an extremely loud cab. We could not use the radio or even talk to each other because of the noise. About three hours into our drive, the check engine light came on. We stopped and texted U Haul Roadside Assistance (file # 2062851) and told them that the check engine light came on. They asked us to send a photo of the of the dashboard with the light. They texted back saying it was OK to keep driving as long as the light does not flash. For the remainder of the trip, there were no engine problems other than the EXTREMELY loud noise. When we dropped of the truck at the Indiana location, they were very helpful. I am writing this because I do not feel we got "our moneys worth" for renting the truck. I am not asking for a refund but I think some compensation is due for the fact we had to drive the truck 1,000 miles in extremely poor conditions. Gracias.Mark W.

The experience explained through the app was 80% accurate. I chose app check in and still had to go to the counter. The person didn't understand and then handed me my keys. Not sure how he knew which ones but never said a word to me. Then after getting home and opening the back, I realized that the moving blankets weren't loaded. So I had to make another trip back. The truck while clean had some major break issues while stopped with it jumping forward and shaking violently while coming to a stop.Travis O.

I pre checked and prepaid in full. When I arrived at the gas station to pick up my rental, the manager at the location had lost all of the pre check in information and I was charged an additional $97 I did not agree and still do not know why. I had to go around the counter to his laptop to fill in my information which I felt very uncomfortable with as we are in a pandemic. There was trash in the cab and the moving blankets were not in the truck until I had to ask for them on multiple occasions. I spoke on the phone with a uhaul representative who raised his voice saying â€œif you want to get out of there just pay the extra money and you can try to dispute it with corporate after.â€ His name was Dave Rosenberg and I found him incredibly unprofessional and poor representation of your company.Brooks S.

The people at the location were great. The process of checking out the truck without contact was terrible. You guys canceled my truck because I didn't pick it up on time jeopardizing my move. It took over a half hour to speak to someone and the operator blamed it on me and made it seem like they were doing me the favor. My suggestion add window time when people can pick up the truck. I don't understand why you would cancel a request when people are moving without even calling me.Michael M.

Pre-covid I never had issues with U-Haul but this time everything that could go wrong went wrong. As the other location didn't have our truck available, it ultimately took us 2 hours to finally get a functioning vehicle. The truck was dirty and the pick up took much too long. It was at a Conoco gas station and there was one employee who was cashiering and checking trucks in/out. The gentleman in front of me who was returning a truck offer to step aside so people purchasing gas could go ahead.
