I asked if I could get the extra day charge taking off since I was an hour late due to Expressway backup by car fire oh, and I was told no and I asked to speak with the manager in the guy told me he was the manager in the one that they will have take care of any disputes and he's saying no. Also I asked if there was a seating area or anything where I can wait so I wouldn't be in the cold and he told me know that they have a policy that there's no standing around in the building so that put me out in the cold for about 40 minutes waiting on my ride.RONALD TERREZ-LE L.

Tried to rent online. Got there to pick up the truck and the guy said online doesn't work so he had to register me. Which didn't take long. But what's the point of online reservation if it doesn't work. The truck was gross. Transmission was shot. There were lights lit on the dashboard. It was semi dirty inside. And he charged me for insurance which I didn't want we were moving a block over so it's not like it was long distance and the condition of the truck you wanted to protect? Kinda ironic. I took the truck becuz we only had maybe 10 big things to move and it had to be done that day. So yeah they got me in a pinch.DAWN MARIE N.

The self check in didn't work since both key boxes were occupied. I had to wit until the self storage place opened their doors. despite my efforts to get the key from the staff person, it took another 25 minutes for them to know the key was at the service desk. The 10 blankets were not in the truck, but the money was refunded. additionally my reservation wasnt honored at my preferred location or truck size, I had to drive further and pay rate per mile.Rachel W.

The gentleman that was working that day was far less than helpful and was rather rude. I had trouble with getting my key and he just point to a note taped to the window and said go there, in a rather annoyed tone. Then I went to the website and couldn't get it done. After waiting on hold for over a half hour. I finally t Was able to talk to customer service, and they got me taken care of. I will never deal with Compass again, and I doubt I will rent from Uhaul again.Paul M.
My story is simple: I rented a 10' truck on a Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm and returned it 2 hours later. When I got there, the lady at the desk told me to go and make the reservation online (!?). So, I went outside, sitting in my car for the next 15 minutes to figure out how to do it from an Iphone. Couldn't complete the process and went back inside where, finally, the lady did it herself. Could not have been more simpler to do it from the beginning? Anyway, when I returned the truck, the people inside just locked the door and went into the storage unit 2 minutes earlier. I waited 15 minutes and because I could not wait any longer, I put the key into the yellow box, I tried to do the return from my Iphone but it failed and I went home. I mentioned that the return was at 3:30 pm and the store hours are till 6:00pm. Next day, surprise! I got the final invoice in my inbox and I was charged a $20 convenience fee for returning the equipment "after hours"! (when it was during operation hours). What a lie! I went in person again to the store and spoke to the lady and she told me that indeed, she witnessed that I returned the truck during normal hours, but this is the U-haul policy! And she waited till next day to do the inspection so they can charge me the fee! Since than I spoke with 2 customer representatives who continued with the lies: one told me that she will send a waiver (which she didn't), the other tried to convince me that the store was closed due to Covid at the time I rented the equipment! Another lie! Like I didn't interact with nobody in the store! If these are the new U-haul policies to treat the customers, next time I'll go to another rental company!OCTAVIAN M.

Everything. I ordered a dolly & did not get it on the truck. This was a horrible inco nvenience for my when trying to move a washer & dryer with no help. I'm disabled & could hardly assist. The dolly would have helped with a queen size mattress set we picked up at a second location with no assist. Now the mattress is all scrapped on the side. The return process was insane. It took us 1/2 hour. The pick up process was mind boggling & confusing. Thought I had everything pre done for pick up & that was not the case. It took us 45 minutes to get the truck & made us 1/2 hour late for our pick up which angered the person waiting. Bad experience all the way around. And we got charged for the dolly!!!Sharon P.

The owner just peaked his head out the door when he saw us struggling to get the keys from lockbox. When we returned the vehicle no one was there to assist and had to make a complaint in order for our truck to get checked in. Anyone could have taken the truck on our contract and continued to drive with our miles, it wasn't checked in until I complained uhaul. Poor customer service. My husband and I have used uhaul for years and this was the worst!Richard S.
My experience started off horrible. I scheduled a share vehicle to pick up from the St. Clair shores, MI location. Once I got there I was unable to get the vehicle. After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes. The representative was unable to change the reservation to a self pick up. She transferred me to the 24/7 share rep. Paul Reed, who was absolutely AMAZING!! Paul advises the location I was sent to was not a Share location. He found the nearest location (Compass Storage) which was about 15 minutes away. He stayed on the phone with me the entire ride and even managed to find a way to make me laugh a few times. He walked me step by step through the self serve process and stayed on the line until I was in the truck and pulled out of the drive way. Thank you Mr. Reed for all of your help and diligence. You were professional and maintained such a positive upbeat attitude! You â€œwow'd me and saved a future business for U-Haul. Keep up the â€œGung-Hoâ€ customer service!Coffei P.

As a uhaul employee I found it very unacceptable getting into a dirty uhaul. The front of the cab was not detailed, it looked like nothing had been wiped down, crumbs on the seats, candy (m&ms) rolling on the floor, the floor in the driver's and passenger seat were not swept and the bed of the truck was not swept out of leaves and dirt. The app would not let me click the upload feature when processing my rental. With covid-19 our locations still detail every uhaul received and take precautions measures for not only our safely but the safety of our customers, their families and whomever comes in contact with our equipment. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I know this uhaul could have not been cleaned with the seatbelts not being buckled and the uhaul signage in the windshield.Jaclyn W.

When I went to return my vehicle on Friday, my return time that I had set up the day prior was for 230, I arrived at 210 pm and found a closed sign up stating that the employee would return by 240 pm. I attempted to use the uhaul application but was unsuccessful so I contacted the customer service and was on the phone for about 10 minutes and they treated me poorly attemting to walk me through the app that wouldn't work and stating I returned the vehicle at 9 am after going back and forth discussing that I didn't return the vehicle at that time they finally agreed that I could leave the keys in the dropbox. I couldnt use the uhaul app since the vehicle was already "returned". I was over charged by over 350 dollars for my rental because the uhaul person checked in another rental as my rental, I was contacted within the hour of returning my uhaul and informed of the over charge. It took 3 days for the reimbursement and I was finally reimbursed as of yesterday, thankfully I had the money in my account. A very stressful way to end an already stressful moving experience.rachel N.

uHaul should be ashamed to contract Compass Self Storage to rent out uHaul equipment. The person inside was very rude. When I informed him I was there to pickup my scheduled uHaul, he said I had to do everything on my phone and that he cannot help me. He specifically said â€œI am going to just sit here and watch you failâ€ After completing the online process was not working, it was stuck on â€œAwaiting Approvalâ€ which I'm pretty sure HE HAD TO APPROVE, he said I had to wait, and sometimes it takes as long as 45 minutes. After standing there awhile, he decided to help check out the truck for me by going on his computer. He was so unwilling to help me and rude the entire time, I've never felt so frustrated in my life. I've went to other uHaul locations and it was a breeze renting a truck.Stephen M.

Uhaul My experience was unpleasant do to the carelessness of the U-hual traffic and or booking department. i had ordered a 17' for Saturday 17th 2019 and when i arrived at the pick up location, 32968 Groesbeck Hwy, Fraser, MI 48026, the truck was not present. I was very please by the staff of compass as they were able to get me a replacement truck. Unfortunately due in no part to compass we received the new truck 1 hour after my scheduled pick up time. The staff at compass put in a request with Uhaul for my 50 dollar guarantee. I have yet to receive any response from u haul regarding this matter. Please respond. The next time that I call and set a fucking appointment and the 24 hr service and digital information of how the process works in picking up the truck isn't explained to me properly, I expect that person to be fired. That was bullshit. I have no issue with taking pictures and doing things on my iphone, but you had better goddamn well let me know while I'm setting the appointment. Also, don't set an appointment for when the fucking location is going to be closed and not inform the customer. I was confused for about 10 minutes and then the additional delay completely elongated this move into a much fucking longer project than it needed to be. All I can say is get your head out of your asses, you dumb motherfuckers.Derek L.
