I had to use the phone to pick up my truck. Most terrible experience I have ever had, told me my phone # was incorrect, could not find my contract. I called the i-800 #, on hold for 17 min. before real person, then it took operator and I an additional 87 minutes to actually make it work. Ended up cancelling and creating all over again. My phone almost died, raining, needed to go to bathroom. I will never do the phone check out again or recommend it.Mark W.

Had it not been glaringly apparent over the past year, I would not have known that there was a global respiratory pandemic going on when I stepped in to Clydesdale U-Haul and Storage in Lewiston, ID. The young man working there had no mask and there were no signs indicating that masks were required or even recommended. This is totally unacceptable and indefensible behavior not to mention irresponsible and disrespectful. I'm am 70 years old and in a high risk group for covid infection. I will never use this venue again. From now on I will call ahead when renting equipment to make sure that the employees are following the guidelines recommended by the CDC.TIM K.

Tony was awesome and very helpful. Checked in with me several times while I was resolving a related issue. Nice guy! Less a review of the Clydesdale location in Lewiston and more of the UHaul experience in general following: I have never seen a UHaul employee wear a mask at any location during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes locations in Moscow, Idaho; Lewiston, Idaho; and San Luis Obispo, California. There could be a line of customers--all masked--and one or two employees maybe behind some dumb piece of plastic. Otherwise, the same customer service I have come to know and love in my various stints lugging a UHaul. Solely due to the employees' inability to wear a mask I look for pretty much anyone else to rent from each time, but y'all appear to be the only game in town.Michael S.

I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone unless that was their only option. Tho ended up costing me much more money than anticipated and was all to the fault of U-Haul.Patrick M.

I rented a Tow Dolly, they put my car on the tow dolly incorrectly. Tow dolly was missing one safety chain, i installed an additional safety chain for the other front tire A frame for the trip. It had not been greased, grease zerk would not accept grease. One tire had 55 psi, the other tire had 45 psi, 65 psi was the correct tire pressure loaded.Robert G.

I have a dispute started waiting on a manager to call me . The truck broke down and I had to wait SIX hours for a new truck with four animals and no food . The movers who moved my stuff from the broken down truck to a new one broke two expensive dressers and I am getting the run around on filing a claim for that . The trailer needed all new tires replaced when the truck broke down so clearly neither the trailer Nor truck have been maintained well. Based off this experience I will never use u haul again. Lastly I had just filled up the entire gas tank before the truck broke down and u haul has not been willing to refund me apparently . So I had to spend double the amount on gas since the truck broke down and I had to pay to put gas in the new one .Isaac S.

The first thing they tell you when you walk in the door is they can't guarantee your item will be available for you when you come to pick it up. This is because all routings are run through Spokane, and they may make you drive to Spokane, 2 hours from Lewiston to pick it up. Lewiston/Clarkston is a town of over 50,000 people and they can't make any deciisions to please their own customers. I made my reservation three months in advance, still no guarantee of my pickup location. I called Spokane the week before my pickup date to confirm; but still no promise to have my vehicle when and where I wanted it. So I went in to talk to my location in person, my fourth or fifth visit, and as always multiple 6x12's sitting on the lot but still unable to confirm my pickup in 3 or 4 days. This is not service, this is being put through the wringer, but the guy says he has a free one on the lot now, and if I want to take it now I can have it. It didn't cost me anymore because of free days, etc which only you would understand, and now I have a trailer on my car so I don't drive my car for the 4 days leading up to my departure. The guy canceled my original order, because you refuse to confirm an order made 3 months down the road, an eternity in this business I've been told, and gives me a new order having it 10 days instead of seven at no extra cost to me, but giving me the baggage of a trailer on my car, keeping me from my daily ride for 4 days, but at least I had my trailer in hand, a guarantee you would not make and all during coronavirus, when I imagine you have not been as busy as usual. When returning my vehicle I was told the closest location was 40 miles from my destination point. On the way there we passed multiple Uhaul dealers at less than half the distance, but I had to drive 80 miles to return my trailer. All employees in the 2 locations I visited were friendly, helpful, and courteous. They saw to mounting and dismounting the trailer and did their jobs well so I would have a safe trip, which I did. Although I had a pretty good experience using your service I doubt I would reccomend it to anyone due to your refusal of supplying my order when and where I wanted it.Richard K.
Drop-off location did not exist. It was someone's house, looked up other locations for uhaul in lewiston Idaho and 2 more the same thing. Finally found a drop off location that had a koskie machine. Then I get a final bill and over charge for mileage. I call the 1 800 number and get a very rude man, he finally took the over charge off my credit card. I told him what your doing to customers is illegal. You can't charge for over mileage if it is NOT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT.Zowie H.

I picked up the Truck, which was clean, however I started it up and noticed the low tire pressure light was on. I got out and told the guy I rented it from it was on and he told me its fine and for me to just get air in the tire before I head out on my 1300+ mile trip. I had planned to leave the next day at 6am, went to gas station to fill the tire, which I had to pay for, and started to drive off, 10 mins on the freeway and the light came back on. I pulled over and the tire was low again. We waited 3 hours for Uhauls road side assistance to come out to fix it. We had to just sit in the truck and wait. It threw our whole drive off. I did call customer service when I got to our destination to complain as well. We are definitely not satisfied, the guy at the place we rented should have had the truck ready to go and instead of telling me to fix the low tire on my way out he should have taken care of the tire.Justin H.

The inside of the trailer was dirty and there were leaves everywhere. We had to clean it out before we could load it. Besides that it hauled well and we made it to our destination without incident. The employee who helped us apparently gave us the wrong trailer, so the drop off location was confused and thought we were turning in a trailer late, but it was a day early. Luckily, they were understanding and said they would handle the confusion with the pick-up location staff.Haden H.

The dolly was broken. I wouldn't have known that until I used it. When I picked up the truck it was gravel and I was not going to take the dolly out and test it on gravel. Also I purchased 2 mattress covers that were not in the truck. Truck was fine and clean. There were just a lot of little things that hindered my experience.Timothy B.

This comment is for the Pullman/Moscow location and maybe the main office also. I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance to pick up equipment at Pullman/Moscow location as I was driving 6 hours one way from out of state to move my daughter out of her sorority house and they didn't have the equipment and was told to drive to Lewiston Id a 45-1hr one way to pick up equipment upon checking in. I was very disappointed to spend another 2 extra hour to Lewiston. Very poor service.Sid M.
Everything was awesome! I even forgot my own keys in the truck and couldn't find them anywhere. I was sure I hadn't left them in there but they called me and told me before I could even call them! The gal at the pick up location that was checking out the trailer to us made my boyfriend & I push the trailer forward off the tongue of the trailer behind it because they are all stacked together without jacks & made my boyfriend lift the trailer tongue off the ground to the truck hitch, no jack, also younger kids running around the parking lot & her/us while getting trailer & leaving with it. If I had gone alone I would not have been able to push the trailer or lift it onto my hitch. She was very nice but not professional at all.Sara A.
