Vehicle was old, noisy, seat was torn and ripped. Outside of vehicle was covered in salt, windshield spotty and hard to see through. Interior of vehicle was dirty. Location required backing out into busy local road while vision impaired by large u haul vehicle parked next to me. Customer parking not identified; no where to park near rental office.

BRIAN BIXLERReserved a 20' truck and was quoted a price for 1 day over the phone. When I arrived, I was asked when would I be returning the truck. I said maybe at night, but I'm not sure. Was told if you return the truck after hours, there's a drop box for the key. I also inquired the cost for each mile driven. I was quoted $39.95 for 24 hours, was charged for 2 days at $79.90, because the agent put an 8:30 pm return time for the day I rented the truck, based on an estimate time of I don't know and maybe tonight. He quoted me 80 cents per mile and I was charged $1.09/mile. When I returned the vehicle, so unprofessional the 3 employees are all eating subs at the front counter during business. On top of that, UHAUL charges these bogus fees...environmental fee and safe trip fee. SERIOUSLY, what's that all about!!!

The vehicle was old but fully functional, but the previous customer must have taken it down muddy roads because the tires were completely covered in mud and there was mud all over the floorboards. That doesn't really matter, but it explains my response to the "clean and maintained" question. That said, the cost to rent the truck is very reasonable, so I will definitely rent from them again.

Perhaps the lock box should be In the vestibule area or better protected from elements.

When I tried to book the store it was closed for a few hours with a sign on the door. i understand staffing issues but thats terrible when you expect to start the process of moving and have to wait 30 minutes outside the strore.

Janette HughesEverything was fine at the location. I did call the 800 number for support 2 times. The first time was poor and the second was better all though not good. The call was about the texting issues. The person made me feel trapped and offered no real solution for me at the time. U-Haul changed their check-in and check-out procedures since 2 months earlier. I was not given instructions to watch for that from the person at the counter when I arrived. It was in a text message and I don't do business with companies through texting. The person was unwilling to figure out what else could be done. I get aggravated when company personnel say there is no other way than what happened. To me that is not help. That is arrogance and complete disregard to the customer. Not even an I'm sorry you weren't aware. I just need to take the time to ask every possible question about the whole process before I sign any contract with U-Haul again. Notice the first 3 questions before this comments section. It's all about their equipment and location. Nothing about customer experience with their staff.

I had a schedule to pick up the truck at 8:30 am but he didn't arrive until 8:45 am which made my schedule for pickup on a 25 minute delay because of the lateness and paperwork. Also during the time of rental the windowshield was hit by a softball, so I called the owner which as if I had insurance through the rental which I did so he said a claim would be submit for the windshield. Un be knows to me I look at my receipt on Monday and I'm charged $150.00 for the crack windshield so I call the office, the lady couldn't help me or tell me why I was charge the $150.00 because she was there when I completed the contract, and she wasn't sure so she gave me customer service number. It has been a frustrating experience because know I have to submit the claim with the insurance and follow up with them so that I don't get charge this fee that should have never been on my receipt .

Bruce PilatoWebsite said the location opened at 8:30 am, but location was not open even at 8:45. There was an employee outside who said she was new and did not have the key. I returned the truck and key to her. I later received an email to self return the truck. I had to make several calls to correct this and explain I had already returned the truck.
