I initially tried to use the contactless pick up via my normal web browser (safari) and could not get it to work. I contacted customer service and was told to download the app. I tried again with the app and it again would not let me upload a photo of my driver's license. I contacted customer service again and was told to use chrome to access my account. At this point I was at the Clearwater location for an hour trying to get my rental truck. I was able to access my truck with Chrome. I would not do a contactless truck pick up again as it added a lot of frustration after an already long day. I'm pretty tech savvy, so this cannot be an isolated incident. Something that is supposed to make my experience easier and safer was anything but. Everyone I spoke with was helpful, but not really able to do anything for me made for a terrible experience.Ashley G.

I called at 5pm and was told that they would be closed before I could get there but just to drop it off in the gravel Lott so that's what I did. I am not sure why Uhaul doesn't put a young lock on there trailers so no one steals them. Must be making enough off of stupid people like me that it's very easy to just buy a new one if one gets stolenRonald H.
I want to start by saying that I have rented uhauls for quite some time now, both under my name, and my wife's, extremely often. I have had a few hiccups here and there, but over all never had a problem that wasn't solved. After this last rental, there is no chance I'm ever renting one again. Where to start, I arrive at the location, and the rank of weed hit me like a train, usually I like the smell, but it smelled like Cheech and Chong owned the place. Moving pat that, there was no one around. I sat and waited 16 mins, nothing. Got fed up, went on my phone and just made the reservation and arranged for pick up in 30 mins so I could go run another errand. Go pick trailer up, and the employee Nick was sitting behind the counter with his buddy. To be brief, he more stoned out of his mind, wouldn't focus on helping me cus his friend and him were talking about plans for the night, when I mentioned waiting there earlier he said â€œoh yeah I saw you, I was next door talking to my buddyâ€, oh okay cool. Anyways I got out of there because I was in a rush to make a 5 hour drive that night. Fast forward, I end up not going and leave following morning, time flies and I decide to stay the night in a hotel and would just keep the trailer for another day as I told Nick I might do. 8:44 in the morning I get a phone call from a girl asking if I had returned the trailer because they need it, since I was just waking up I was out of it but said, â€œno I decided to keep it another day like I had told the guy that helped meâ€, I hear some mumbling and someone aggressive saying something like no fuck that, and then she asks if I can repeat that again, so I do, at which point Nick comes on the phone barking at me about how he never said that and he needs the trailer there in the next 15 mins. In a calm, annoyed and well demeaning tone I say â€œlook man, idk what you're saying but I clearly told you I might keep it an extra day when you were hooking up the trailer. I actually said it twice because the first time, you looked lost. Then you said okay that's fine but if you decide to return it after hours just give me a call before we close so I can have it noted. But I'm 5 hours away, you're more than welcome to come grab the trailer.â€ He then said he'd allow it this time even though he â€œtold meâ€ I had to bring it back. We hang up. 10 mins later I get a call from him again saying my card declined lol. I tell him that's a mistake try it again, he says it declined. I said nope, and read him my card number again. Now he says invalid prepaid card, so 3 more times I repeat it to him, with the same response, whatever I told him I'd just pay him cash once I got there, they had a deposit on my card anyways. He goes off about how it's a new reservation he needs a card, and asks for another card. It took me 6 years to stop using and pay off all my credit cards, and thank God I haven't had to use them through this pandemic, and I wasn't about to let Nicks bruised ego change that, so I told him I'd have my brother go in and put his card on file within the next few mins. Call my brother, explain the situation, and of course right away he goes in. After he's done he calls to tell me that young girl was the receptionist, and he could tell Nick was trying to act like a â€œbossâ€ in front of her, and he even treated him poorly. Anyways, next day I drop off the uhaul after hours because I would have seen Nick, I would have put him, and his storage unit living ass in his place pretty damn quick. The guys a middle aged, receptionist/night time security guard at uhaul and he was talking to me like I'm trash. Anyways, following day I went and bought a new 6x12 enclosed trailer. I could have easily before, but it's an eye sore to have in my driveway, but I figured I'd rather pay to have it parked somewhere than to have to deal with some bullshit like this again. I made this reservation on-line while standing in the customer service line at the Spokane Valley store, and it was such a quick, efficient and smooth experience! We dropped the trailer off at the drop-off location and hardly had to do anything besides leave the trailer parked at the drop-off location!!! This could not have been better!KAY ELLEN S.

Everything went smoothly. Was a little busy during pickup but nothing too crazy. Employees were very nice, no issues and would definitely use again.NICHOLE N.
Make sure the equipment is at desired location of customer. Had to drive An hour and 45 minutes away to obtain trailer. Make sure equipment is in working order. Once trailer was loaded passenger side tire was flat had to fill up several times causing a delay of two days and added cost. When dropping off the trailer the manager was unsympathetic of the issues that occurred and would not reimburse any money the delay that occurred At no fault to myself. The first trailer that was hooked up to my truck, had blinkers and brake lights but no running lights. The salesman said I should be ok since I was staying in town. i was surprised that someone renting me equipment to use on streets and highways wasn't worried if was in good repair for use. I didn't make a big deal with the salesman, but insisted that I wanted a trailer that had full working lights. The salesman unhooked the faulty unit and brought in a second trailer, that did check out properly when checking all the lights. I had no problems with the second trailer.Wilfred T.

(1) I rented the trailer Friday, late afternoon, around 4:45 p.m. They asked if I would hook it up to my vehicle. I did but had to take the wiring pigtail from another trailer to connect it to my vehicle. (2) On Saturday at 8:30 am they called asking me when I would be returning it because it was due back Friday night at 10:30 p.m.? That did not make sense at all. (2) When I did return it after having it for 16 hours, they said another customer also wanted it was why they called and asked me to bring it in. Reserved equipment, that was not available at that location. Had to drive 50 miles to another location. The cost ended up DOUBLE, what was quoted when the reservation was made. Made a commitment, to pick up an item, so had no choice. You should honor the commitments you made as well. Feel ripped off and lied to. Will not use U-Haul again.Patrick S.

Rented a 15' truck and a car transport. The truck was clean but whatever vehicle was hauled on the transport had leaked something all over the chain's. Left my hands VERY dirty and oily. Drove from Washington to Minnesota and the truck and trailer operated fine. The truck, did not have cruise control which would have really been nice!diane J.

I called thinking I was talking to the facility. It turned out, I was talking to some central switchboard. When I arrived at the actual drop off facility nobody was there. There was a note saying that they would return in about 45 minutes, but I was under the impression that somebody would be there to process my rental. It was all good, because I actually spoke to the person on the phone,And I was able to just drop the trailer off and he would process it later. It all worked out and I'm very satisfied.STEPHEN C.

When someone makes a reservation, that item should be ready to go when the person shows up. When I arrived to pick up a car carrier, the employee didn't know where it was. Once he found it, he didn't have a key to the U-Haul truck that was blocking it in. Had to wait for his boss to show up with a key to the truck to move it out of the way. Most unprofessional experience I've ever had with U-Haul.Scott T.
On a Saturday right when the office opened the clerk had 4 customers to attend to all by himself. All of us were patient but also had to rearrange my movers due to the nearly 1 hour delay, even though I had made reservations on line it didn't help. He said the truck had been double booked for the day due to me not checking it out on time, but I was waiting in line for him to help me when it most likely got double booked. He found another truck but ended up having a tail light out so we had to switch again. The process for returning after they closed (5 minutes after closing time) ended up taking 45 minutes as well with all of the questions and pictures to submit. Understandable the company needs to make sure things are good but definitely not what I had time for with moving and how much I had to do that night. The clerk himself was great and had a good attitude with all of the stress.Tiffani R.

It was easy enough to rent the truck, and I was told that if I wanted to return the truck after hrs i was supposed to use my smart phone and go on the website. I sat in the parking lot for over an hr trying to get the truck returned talked to 2 different people from customer service, the first lady had no idea what she was doing and then I had to sit there on hold for 30 mins to talk to the next person to try to help me. You should simplify your app or give people step by step direction on what to do because having to sit there for over and hr just to try to get it returned is ridiculous and really irritating.LINDSEY P.
