When I arrived the renters told me that the homeless has completely siphoned has out of the truck and that I would need to go immediately to a gas station. When checking in they would not let me inspect the car because it was parked a block away and they told me to just approve the car and the mileage, sight unseen. Once I got in the truck there looked to be dried blood all over the seat, as well as mud all over the car. I was not impressed with the situation at all and was disappointed.ELI A.

Id like to say that first of all the people where very kind and I don't think they where the problem. The location isn't a good area and there was a hole in the gas tank under the van. I couldn't get anywhere without running out of gas. I think regular checks on vehicles need to be done before sending any vehicles out in the future to ensure thus doesn't happen again.Itai P.

The online experience for rental is really challenging. This location isn't in the app. Received multiple emails and texts with different direction, chat function couldn't answer questions, had to make calls for clarity. issued invoice also unclear.JENNIFER S.
U-Haul's checkout system glitched out and confused/delayed me getting the truck I had rented. The owner of the site tried his best to accommodate, but was obviously frustrated with the process, as was I. I eventually was given the key, told how to return it afterhours, fill the tank to the same level, etc. An hour later, U-haul rep called me to verify the truck had been dispatched and tried to take my credit card info. He was surprised to hear I had already given it to the reservation rep and didn't have time (I was knee deep in heavy garden pruning) to go get my card again. He wasted about 10 minutes of my time, said he would call back the following day and then never did. Who the heck knows what's going on? Seems the U-Haul system is a tad behind the times these days. However this location was conveniently located and did the best they could to help me out.Vanessa M.

the pickup location was fine nothing wrong with the owners of the store or their service and i actually do recommend if you for some reason want to use uhaul to go here they are very kind. this has nothing to do with the pick up location. but the ubox appointment that i had made three days prior was canceled with no forewarning not a text email or call and now they have to â€œopen an investigationâ€ to return my money for the truck rental i couldn't even use so i brought it right back with the gas (i barely used) replaced. and then uhaul customer service had me on hold for 2 1/2 hours without even speaking to me until the last fifteen minutes. just running me in circles about calling the location 24 hrs before my appointment (which i wouldn't have a problem doing if i were made aware of doing that) i just want my money back so i can get my sh*t out of that ubox and never use this company's services ever again.Angelica C.

I chose Remote/Virtual Check-in / Check-out for this rental and absolutely will not use it again. Using the link sent to me by U-Haul, I got halfway through check-in when the process just stalled-out and would not advance to the next screen. A rep at the pick-up location (Linda, who is awesome) told me remote check-in had to be completed via the app, yet there was no message to this effect on the browser. So cool; I wasted five minutes uploading multiple pics of my Drivers License, a selfie, and a picture of my cat, and now I have to enter it all over again in the app. Stupid. On check-out (using the app this time) the process again stalled-out and refused to accept my pics of the fuel/mileage. No link to bypass, no chat or toll-free to call if you were having issues. Again, I was lucky that Linda was still working when I dropped-off and she completed the check-out in her vendor interface. Your local truck rentals are a fantastic product U-haul, but get your shit together because your Digital UX is not.DAVID L W.
Not a thing. Used my smartphone at drop-off. A challenge at first but I got it done. I would say take a little extra time when dropping off a vehicle after business hours. You'll be prompted to take pictures with your phone of vehicle condition inside and out. And leave the things better than you found it for the next person! I was surprised when I received my final invoice. It was almost double what I was expecting. There was almost $50 extra charges. Not very happy. Would definitely research other options next time. But the specific uhaul place was good and good customer service.shaley H.

I went to the gas station and filled up to 1/4 of a tank. Employee said it did not meet where it needed to be and was charged a $30 full up fee, and $14 for gas.. I do not feel that was correct. I will not come back here. Gracias.Jordan L.
Awful. I had a reservation confirmed for the location on 1130 NE Holladay St in Portland for 10am, the reservation was for a van for 5 hours. I waited 40 minutes, no one ever showed up at Union Market and Deli, the UHaul dealer. I could see the van parked nearby, but no one ever opened the deli. At 10:40 and with zero other information, I received a text with directions to a different location, the dealer on 4058 N Mississippi Ave Portland. I had a move to make, so I rushed there to pick up the van. Upon arrival, the dealer pulled up my information on the screen. By this time I have lost an hour I should have spent moving. She hands me the key to the van and tells me I have to return it by 2:30 at the latest. A QUARTER OF A TANK OF GAS IN THE VAN. I had to rush to move at least a few large items in the van to the new apartment, return the van and move everything else using my car. AND, I WAS CHARGED FOR GAS. Seriously people, you're UHaul not a mom and pop shop, you're not cheap, to say this sucks is an understatement. One of the worst experiences ever. Zero stars if I could.Annalisa B.

The person that was working at Clarence Walker for Flowers was very nice. I can't complain about her effort of good service. The overall experience was one of the most frustrating I've had in a long time though. First, I didn't reserve our van with this location. I reserved it somewhere else, I signed up for scan-and-go pick up and I confirmed the pick up the night before using the U-Haul app â€" which I was told I had to download in order to do scan-and-go pick up. However, the next day on the way to pick up our van I logged in to the app to go over the scan-and-go procedure and it listed an address I had never seen before. I called the number for the location and the peson said they didn't actually have vehicle pick up but that was a frequent mistake. I then checked the website and it listed my original location. So I arrived at the location and they said they didn't know anything about me. I showed them the confirmation for the pick-up on the U-Haul website and they said it didn't matter because all of their vehicles were spoken for. After some confusing and frustrating phone calls they told me that my van was in fact at the location the app was listing. I told them the peson there said they didn't even have vehicles and they said that's my pick up location and they couldn't do anything else for me. So I called the person *again* and this time she said, "Oh, we actually do have your van." I never found out why she told me they didn't have vehicles the first time. I asked the people at the location I was at how they could just not have my van at the agreed upon location and they said this is what U-Haul does. They double-book and then move people to other locations as necessary. You would think they would at least contact me and let me know they were doing this instead of letting me show up and have no idea what's going on along with the check-out staff who also have no ideas what's going on. Thank god I padded my schedule with an extra 90 minutes. So, now 30 minutes later than expected, we drove to a new location for which I did not agree on and for which the website still said was not the pick up location. Once there, I was told my contract no longer allowed scan-and-go pick up so I had to go inside to check out. I was also told there would now be additional fees. So on top of the surprise re-location, the final bill was $76 more than I was quoted on the website (some were additional fees and some were hidden fees) but that's just something I've come to expect from U-Haul so at least I was ready for that. I've always considered U-Haul to be the de facto choice for moving vehicles but I'm definitely going to be looking into alternatives now. This was atrocious and it ruined the first half of my day.Joey M.
The location was great, but the UHAUL mobile part of the experience was HORRIBLE. The extra phone call (that could have been done ahead of time) and other hurdles that took a long time at that specifically (and predictably) stressful moment when your customer least wants to deal with it...right before you set out in the rented vehicle... Also, the checkboxes on the mobile page did not work! So the person at the location ended up having to check me out anyway, and I had to waste a lot of time for nothing and pay extra because the web page didn't work. So in summary, great marks for the location, very poor marks for the UHAUL mobile process.Paul C.

There was nothing inherently wrong with the location, but rather the after hours pick up process for uhaul was pretty awful. Sending instructions on where to find the truck before arriving would help. Also uploading my license and approving my account prior to standing in a dark, cold alley late at night would also make the process better. The whole thing took a lot longer than it should have.Lindsay R.

The workers had no idea how to work computer, and kept complaining about uhaul. Along with regarding on not knowing how to type in my information. I told them which vehicle I wanted and they tried to give me the wrong one. And complained when I asked them to fix it. The truck key was broken so badly that I couldn't even lock to truck, which made me uncomfortable leaving my stuff moving in a unlocked car. The car was dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned from a long time. I was waiting for for 30 minutes watching them complain and not understand how to check me in. Overall was a terrible experience and actually thought about leaving and loosing money.Sierra L.

I attempted to use the mobile check in option. My reservation was at 7pm, after spending 30 minutes at the vehicle in a failed attempt to upload my picture onto the app due to the apps malfunction (It wouldn't upload pictures with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus but eventually it worked with my friends iPhone) I called customer service. I spent over 30 minutes on hold. So at this point I was standing outside, in an alley way, in the dark, for an hour and still haven't gotten into the vehicle yet. When I finally reached a representative I spoke with a very kind, helpful, and patient young women who's name unfortunately I can't remember but she was great and eventually got me into the rental. I had to give Uhual a number to someone who can "verify" my rental. I do not understand the purpose of this step. Anyone with 2 phones and a willingness to lie can get around this step and it serves no reasonable purpose. However when my friend who was with me received the verification call I was the one to answer his phone and I had the misfortune of speaking with James who was rude and unhelpful. When I came to drop off the vehicle the key don't physically fit in the drop box so I had to just lock the keys back in the original box I got them out of. Side note: Random homeless man threaten to kill me while I was waiting for all this. Maybe this alley way isn't the safest location for a pick up. ~Fix your app ~Improve your customer service with James Moving is stressful enough, Uhaul doesn't need to make it worse. Unfortunately our moving experience with Uhaul was horrendous. I did the 24 hour truck share and when we went to return our truck, the app shut down. We were unable to correctly return the truck after use. After fiddling with the app for 15 minutes, we were stuck on hold for customer service even longer. After waiting in the dark next to our truck on hold, the customer service representative was out right rude. The only thing she could tell us was that we weren't doing anything correctly, we didn't sign in correctly and we didn't even try to return the truck. She ended up just putting a notification on our account saying we returned the truck. I'm very disappointed because I've used and enjoyed this service 2-3 other times for my past moves. I cannot say I'll use this service again or recommend this.Morgan H.

When we went to the truck the staff did not come with us to verify that there was no damage and that the fuel tank was correctly marked on the form. We checked the vehicle and the gas was below the mark that they stated it was at (by a quarter of a tank). We were in a hurry to get to our location and the staff was already assisting the next customer so we decided to mark the form provided with the correct gas amount. When we returned the truck there was no staff to check us in. We left a note about the gas. They did not honor our note and we were charged almost $30 for not returning the gas to where they incorrectly said it was at. We had driven less than 10 miles and the gas meter had not moved from where it was when we picked up the vehicle. The staff also spoke poorly of other uhaul locations.
