The truck was clean. However, the passenger side mirrors would not stay in the position I set them for me to see. They kept moving in toward the truck to where I could not see if there were vehicles on that side. Thankfully, I had a vehicle following me and we talked on phone when change was needed. Very unsafe. The gas gauge was marked at 7/8. I only asked for email contract and did not notice. I saw it just under 3/4 when I got in.Jim B.

Reserved equipment was not available and was not told this until 20 minutes before I was schedule to pick up the truck ! CSR who called us at 7:40am on Friday 10/02 left a VM they could not provide us with the truck reserved, she didn't know why our order was sent to them and told me to reschedule and to â€˜have a good day'.Ann M.

Due to this location serving as a storage facility as well, I had to wait nearly 30 minutes to actually pick up the truck (even though I had already checked in online) because the attendant was dealing with a disgruntled storage facility customer. There should really be more than one employee working on a Saturday to prevent the delay in getting assistance. After all, Saturdays tend to be the busiest moving day!Kelly R.
We rented a trailer, 6X12. When we asked if there was anyone there that could help us hook it up to our truck, she just shook her head. Didn't say "no", didn't offer to help or offer to find someone to help us. Just shook her head no. My husband and I had to hook it up ourselves, it isn't a light piece of equipment. I forgot to get the blankets, I knocked on the door to let them know I needed in but she just looked at me. I waited 7 minutes for the door to open because she just realized she forgot to get the blankets. She could have asked me why I was knocking on the door! In returning the trailer, we asked for help removing if from our hitch. Again, "I don't know how to do that!" My husband just asked for her assistance. She only bent down to help because I started helping him. My husband injured himself trying to get the trailer off, two weeks he is still in pain.Richard I.
The truck was confirmed the morning of pickup. We arrived at 930 and it was not there nor were any trucks available. We waited over an hour for another renter to return with a truck. I found the Interior of the truck to be dirty, grimy and sticky even after the agent confirmed that it had been wiped down. The agent was not wearing a mask even though, according to the signage, customers are required to do so. (When questioned about this she stated it was â€œtoo hot.â€) Agent gave faulty, unclear and incomplete instructions on where and how to drop off the vehicle key, making a vague and unclear reference to a drop off point. This lead to confusion when returning the vehicle after hours. I have been a storage rental customer at the Chase Street facility in Athens for over 5 years and this is the worst I've been treated. There's simply no excuse for being lied to and for being given rushed, hurried and incomplete instructions especially when you are the only customer in the office. I'm glad to have terminated my contract with this facility.Betty Y.

I wasn't sure of where to drop off the keys at night. The drop slot didn't seem secure as keys could be reached from the floor after being dropped in the door slot.Alex B.
My only complaint is that you charged us for extra mileage over 83 miles when we had to pick up the truck, drive from Athens to Atlanta, then take the truck back. Not to mention we had to go to 2 different houses to pick up furniture, so we went over the mileage. I would've liked to be able to input how many miles I needed instead of u-haul just automatically giving me 83 miles.Carl G.

According to the contract I had until 7:00 pm to drop off the truck, at 6:30 pm when I arrived for drop off, the location was locked up and closed. Had no choice but to place the key in the drop box, even though would have like to been able to turn in truck to an actual person and get a proper checkout. Following day a charge was applied to my credit card for mileage overage (even after pickup location was changed on us and was further away) and a charge for gas even though it was left with more in the tank than when I picked up.Chris B.

We went through a call center to locate a vehicle and specifically asked for the smallest possible since we were using it only to pick up an item that was too large for our vehicle. We were given the location based on their availability of the smallest truck and also quoted a price for the truck. When we arrived, they had only the next size up and were told that it would be a higher price. We were also told however that there would be no charge for mileage since it was a one-way rental and that the price given then was what we would pay.JENNIFER B.

We ordered this truck weeks in advance and the day before we were to pick it up they changed the time and location on us. We went to pick it up at 10 took them 1 hour to figure out how to work the system. We had paid for help at 7:30AM to help us pack truck had to cancel and pay a cancellation fee. We should really get a discount since the location was only 3 miles from original location and they put us 3 hours out getting on the road for a 7 hour ride.TROY M.

The location wasn't the problem. U-haul in general was. They changed my location WITHOUT telling me. I didn't find out until the day I needed the truck because there was no text or email telling me the address for pick has been changed. Getting to the Chase Street location, they didn't have a 1-way truck which is what I ordered! And apparently ALL the trucks in Athens were taken so I couldn't get ANY truck at all the day I needed to move out. So I had to wait until the next day I was off to get another truck. Then the cost of renting the 1-way truck was way over the cost it was supposed to be when I initially ordered. Overall horrible experience and I will never use U-Haul again!!!Courtney B.
I'm upset with the customer service I received when I dropped off the rental. The lady was rude and treated me with disrespect when she said she â€œcouldn't trustâ€ me alone in the office when she went to check the truck. Then I was charged for gas even though I returned the rental with the same gas (half a tank) than when I turned it in. Offended.jochebed C.

This review has nothing to do with the location. This review is for corporate/main office. It is understandable to not have equipment in store because a different customer is late picking them up, but why have confirmations if they don't actually confirm that it is there? Seems like a business ploy to make sure you don't go someplace else. I will recommend u-haul to anyone. Because there is zero way to confirm until you actually go to pick up the items and need them.Zach B.

Truck was pretty dirty inside when I picked it upBrian H.
If you know the day before that you are going to delay someone, you should call them and let them know. I arrived to the store to find a sign from the day before saying they were going to close early on that day (Friday) and will open late, or maybe not at all the day of my pickup (Saturday). I was never contacted and informed that there would be a delay in my pickup despite the company knowing in advance that I would be delayed. So after calling the emergency number posted at the store and finally getting in touch with uhaul directly, I was told it would be 2 hours later that I could get the truck. I got a $50 credit which amounted to roughly 7% of my purchase. The employee also kept my license so I had to go back and get that, which she somehow didn't realize until I was on my way out of town about an hour and a half later. To make matters worse, the employee had no remorse throughout this entire ordeal. I will never use Uhaul again and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Burn in hell, Uhaul.ZACHARY S.

When I arrived, I had already checked in online and paid for the truck via the check in process. All that was needed was the final charge for the actual rental. For some reason, the system on uhaul end refused to accept my credit card for over 45 minutes of me and the agent swiping, changing options, clicking through screens, etc. She made 3 calls to support but didn't get anything from them about how to handle a (pretty glaring) technical issue. In the end, we cancelled my reservation and did a "walkin" appointment which went off without a problem. I like the idea of uhaul, but I don't like that I was hampered because of their system not being able to accept a swiped card at the pick up spot because (or in spite of) me already paying for much of the reservation online. In essence, the check in meant to make my life easier actually made it harder due to their systems.BENJAMIN W.
