The drop off was somewhat disappointing in that the staff did not have any record of my arrival which was clearly documented in the contract. The staff person was concerned that he did not have any parking for my van. He was not very friendly. Anyway he took the key.Jouni K.

Wasn't able to confirm the odometer reading because the sign for "Service Air Bag" obscured it. The side view mirrors on this vehicle were confusing with them cut in half for different views.James M.

They did not have the dolly in stock that I'd selected online. Then the mileage on the contract was off by 1000km (compared to what was in the truck). They said it wouldn't affect me, but when I dropped the truck off they charged me the extra $300 for it. Had to call and complain to get it corrected and they never apologized.Wyatt T.

This is my favorite UHaul rental place in Ottawa. They are always easy to deal with, pleasant and fast. I highly recommend them. Thank YouWendy V.
when reserved on web link, the contract mile was 407KM, when discussed the contract in pick up location, we both orally agreed 407 KM, However, In the contract , this became 228 mile, which is about 366.9 KM , it is cheating! And in this location, the gasoline in the truck is half tank, when returning truck, it has to be half tank. it is really and very difficult for the people who are not very familiar with truck. Finally, I over fueled almost 40 litters in the truck. it is very bad experience with Uhaul .I definitely would not recommend Uhaul to friends.Fei X.

The equipment and the convenience of the location were great although the physical location itself was a bit run down. The service was prompt and efficient. Our concern during this experience was that the employee serving us did not follow COVID protocol despite seeing that both my husband and myself were wearing masks and maintaining the recommended social distancing of 6 ft+. The employee did not put on a mask even after we mentioned our concerns nor did he put one on when he served me the second time upon returning the vehicle.joel J.

This review is not about the location, my poor experience is because of UHAUL itself. So, things to improve... Maybe not change the agreement less than a few hours in advance? How about that? Suddenly requiring a internet enabled smartphone less than two hours in advance meant I had to skip work meetings to pick up the truck one hour earlier. Also threatening a $20 fee for after-hours return if one does not have a smartphone without internet? Come on! Luckily I was able to do this from home... Thank you for reminding me why I go to great lengths to avoid Uhaul. Sometimes there is unfortunately no alternative...Jarno V.

The return time was given as 11:00 am even though the pick up time was 12:00 noon. This made it very difficult and stressful when moving in and the truck needed to be returned an hour earlier then expected. Anyone renting should be aware of these times and be told when renting.JANICE C.

I dislike the self check in service - too much of my personal information required. Also , verification photos were taken at night making it impossible to see any damage for later comparison. But it all went smoothly.Susan S.
The service representative was not friendly whatsoever and just generally had a bad attitude. The van I rented had garbage in it with other people's paperwork so it wasn't cleaned at all. The back was also dirty and I had to sweep it out myself. Lastly, I was overcharged and I'm really hoping that gets resolved.Steven L.

I was supposed to get a 15ft truck. I booked it and travel from toronto to Ottawa on bus, that's 450km away. Even though I booked it for 12pm, and got there around 145pm. They gave away my truck, of which I had to take it due to not much available and I have nothing to travel around nor able to go to another U-Haul. What made me so mad was, they gave the truck away without asking or giving me a call to warn me ahead of time. I was late yes, however I booked it and either way I would pay for it. It was very inconvenient for me because now I have to go back to Ottawa on another day to finish moving everything that I needed. I took an Uber from where that bud drop me off to the U-Haul. If they called me to let me know, I would have book or look for 15ft truck in another place. Bad experience, yes, but I need the service. If I had to recommend to another person, No I do not think I would. Uhaul isn't considered for me, then I why should I be.nhut T.

I signed up for truck share 24/7 which was supposed to let me grab the truck before the office opened. The site didn't work and I lost 40 minutes of my reserved time.Margaret R.

I did not receive the dolly I ordered with the truck, and no one answered the phone despite multiple calls, and voicemail message left was not returned the day of or following day. When we returned in person hoping to pick up the dolly, the office was closed despite advertised hours that it would be open for another hour. This Uhaul location over charged my rental by 300Miles, when I only used the 10' truck for 58.1km. My bill was $500.00 when it should have been under $100.00. I'm filing a complaint and fighting for my money back - this is a huge scam. The time of return is even incorrect. We picked up the vehicle at 10am and dropped off the vehicle at 3pm. Once again U-Haul has proven to be a shady operation. Though I had no issue with the booking agent he checked the gas level saying it was full - it was not, it was at 7/8 which I had him change and sign on my receipt. My booking clearly shows .89/km. The final receipt shows I was charged $1.43 for 46km. I would like a correction or at least an explanation as to why this is.Mike P.

Your app wouldn't work for me (Samsung Galaxy S9) so I had to call the help centre to get the truck. I ordered two Dolly's and 20 blankets and I got a total of 5 blankets, no Dolly's. Now after all the stress of moving I'll have to deal with your customer service to get the dolly and blanket money refunded. Why would you offer those options if you can't provide them? Why would I ever use Uhaul again after this?James N.

The location was fine, the information and instruction was not. At pickup I was told to drop the vehicle off and put the key in the mail slot. I was not told that I would need to log in while on-site to verify I was at the correct location. As I was moving, I did not have my phone with me and only saw the text message telling me this several hours later. I was then charged more despite not being told this was a requirement. I've rented trucks in the past and never had to do a check in like that. I'm very disappointed with the overall service and lack of explanation.Jennifer J.
