Very unprofessional and charged me incorrectly while i showed him the odometer mile out is incorrect and didnt bother to help just direct me to call uhaul.

uhaul only had half a tank of gas, and a bad battery, it died twice on the way through bc. we had to buy 80+$ jumper cables just to get it started and the uhaul was completely filthy on the inside. very disappointed as usually uhaul is very good with there vehicles.

I recently encountered a disappointing experience with a service provider. I had made a reservation for a Uhaul truck and arrived at the designated location to pick it up. Unfortunately, during the process, the owner of the establishment faced difficulties in properly maneuvering the trucks, resulting in a collision and noticeable damage, including burnt rubber. To protect myself from any potential liability, I responsibly documented the incident by capturing videos and taking pictures. It appeared that the owner noticed my actions and questioned the purpose of my documentation. I calmly explained that my intention was to ensure that I would not be held accountable for the damage caused. However, instead of addressing my concerns professionally, the owner refused to provide me with the keys to the Uhaul I had previously paid for and resorted to using disrespectful language towards me. In order to resolve the situation, I reached out to the Uhaul customer service. They promptly intervened and instructed the owner to fulfill his obligation by providing me with the keys. Nonetheless, the process took an extended period of about 45 minutes due to the owner's obstructive behavior. In order to ensure that appropriate action is taken and to express my dissatisfaction, I forwarded the videos and pictures, along with a formal complaint, to the Uhaul head office for their review and consideration and compensation for such a horrible experience.

Truck was dropped off at a location in south Calgary, the truck was dropped off on Saturday and on Tuesday I got calls asking where the truck had been dropped and if we still had it. The drop off location hadn’t checked it in for a few days. Otherwise, service/experience was great and was as expected.

The equipment ran well just wasn't super clean. The process of the truck share was good all except for the person in the store not really understanding English too well and made the process and bit difficult. The return process was ok but he had to come out and check again before I could go.

Agents know nothing about my rental experience. No explanation to why I’m getting charge or solving it in the spot. Charged my credit card without my knowledge. I’m very disappointed with my experience with uhaul.

Our drop off was at 9am. We showed up at 8:30 with no key box on sight. Had to wait for over an hour to get help. The people on the phone were amazing, but they were unable to reach management for assistance with the key box, even after calling multiple times. We were told to check behind the building for the box and were met with used needles, drug kits, etc. I have never had such a poor experience with a location before. This place needs some major TLC.

when you reserve a vehicle at your desired location, you expect it to be there, instead I received a call the day of telling me the vehicle wasn't available and I would have to drive 60km out of my way to pick one up! only to pick it up and discover the check engine light was on.. whole experience was absolute garbage!!!!

Terrible experience. The U-Haul was extremely dirty inside and out. When I mentioned the condition of the truck, the representative told me they don't clean the trucks in between rentals. This truck had mud and grease all over the place to the point where I had to use pads over the whole thing to load my furniture. I also mentioned how loud it was when they pulled it out for me but was told the truck was fine and ran great. Only after getting on the highway after loading did I really experience how loud it was. When I pulled over to see what was wrong did I notice it was missing the catalytic converter. The U-Haul representative seemed to know that this truck was in terrible shape and missing important parts but rented it too me anyways. If I wasn't on such a time crunch, as most people are when moving, I would have cancelled and rented from an alternate location. No I do not recommend this location to anyone and they should not be renting if they are unable or unwilling to provide the level of service and quality standard that the customer needs.

This process was terrible. The store staff were nice people but could not efficiently get me a truck. Another family member had to drive to the store to check me in. I did not enjoy this experience. Again the People were very kind but process needs a lot of work.

Explain to them that the location is a tiny shop in the corner of a strip mall and that only the husband deals woth uhaul, and he wasn't there. The parking lot was not big enough to park the unit we needed so it was parked in an alley, we were not told this and spent almost 35 minutes trying to figure out where the heck ours was. After speaking to the woman working in the shop, she said nothing and just called her husband who then had to come down to find the keys and explain the vehicle is in the back alley that isn't even attached to this strip mall. The woman I contacted from uhaul was about as helpful as the chat option you have on your website. We will not be using uhaul in the future. I would rather spend a couple extra bucks for a moving company than go through the nightmare that is uhauls support and their suppliers.

I scheduled the drop-off of my rental at this location. Upon arrival, I was told I could not drop the vehicle off as they have no space. I was told to go to another location. I'm not sure why this happened as it was booked about a week or more out but it was frustrating to say the least. After a day of moving and completing the online drop off procedure ( taking pictures ot the parked vehicle etc) and then told "no" and to just take it elsewhere I was a little annoyed especially when I'm concerned that I could be billed for improper drop-off or some other potential issue. In the end it was dropped off at Meridian without issue but why not just direct me there beforehand?

The pick up location was a tiny little corner store. There was a substantial language barrier between the shopkeeper and I, so I was very confused by the pick up process as he was not very clear with what he was doing. He handed me his personal cellphone to speak to someone else who then checked us in, which I do not think was very professional or appropriate. Overall, pick up took much longer than previous times I have rented a U-haul truck and was confusing. The only upside was that the truck and dolly were ready to go and in good working order.

Totally incorrect billing and poor communication

I had originally rented the van from a nearby location with 24 hour drop-off, however U-Haul re-assigned my rental to another location that was 14 kilometers away and did not have 24-hour drop-off. The staff at that U-Haul location were friendly and well-organized during the check-in process, but there was no U-Haul van in sight. We were then sent to a parking lot the next block over to retrieve the van from in front of another store. While I was completing the online condition report for the van and taking photos, a man came out from the store that the van was parked in front of and started yelling at us that it "wasn't our van" and that it was his van. I had the keys and showed him the key and told him that I rented it. He advised me that he was a representative of the U-Haul location and demanded to take my picture, which I refused. He took the picture anyways, and told me that it was his responsibility "to verify the renters". I had already provided my operators license at the first location. He then went and took a picture of my employee, whom was dropping me off. I was furious. I finished the check-out process and drove away. I asked the employees at the U-Haul location who the male was, and they told me that it was their landlord, and they had told him to erase the pictures. Three days later, we returned the van and completed the drop-off process. About an hour later, the employee from the U-Haul location called and told me to come back to the location and switch the digital odometer back to miles instead of kilometers (this is done simply by pushing a button on the dashboard, and I had switched it so that I could keep track of our mileage in kilometers as we were being billed in kilometers) otherwise I would be billed for 60,000 kilometers (???). I had to drive back to the location and show the employee how to switch the units back to miles. What a waste of my time. Overall, I'm frustrated but it is what it is.

I was told the fuel was full it was just a bit less than full and I was given the wrong mileage by 18km. It was not as smooth transaction. I rented one last week and it was way easier and accurate.

The gentleman in the shop was great, However Uhaul was not. Due to the Uhaul computer system I had to wait an hour to sign out the vehicle, I originally booked the truck without the $15 insurance but it was then added on and I was told it was $0.99 a km when I booked but when collecting the vehicle it had risen to $1.56km. I will be sure to not use your services again.
