I tried to drop the truck off at a local dealership and they told me UHaul would charge me an additional $2,000 if I didn't go to another location 40 miles away. The folks at ABC were able to get me a taxi ride back home -- $200. Both sides of this transaction were unacceptable.Clayton B.

When I picked up my truck, it was full of trash and covered in syrup. I spent the first 30 minutes just wiping things down. And the truck smelled like marijuana so I had to drive with the windows down, I wish I could've gotten another vehicle but the location wasn't physically open on Sunday.Donavan H.
The gas was not as full as we were told so we had to go in and get the representative to change it. The truck had not been cleaned. The back still had items of furniture of some sort from the previous renter left inside. We unloaded the items ourselves and put them at the door of the building. Inside the truck there were empty Gatorade bottles and BBQ potato chip crumbs on the floor along with sand. when we started driving we saw the truck had service lights on. Traction Control and the Tire Light were both on. We were on a deadline and could not turn back after all of that. I would appreciate your consideration of a discount or credit back for the experience. It was hands down the worst U-Haul rental I have ever had.Kimberly M.

Make sure you let the customer know about previous damage on the truck. I took pictures of the truck just in case uhaul tries to charge me for the damage, Customer service was excellent at pick up and drop off locations. Drop off customer service said she knew about previous damage on the truck.Sharon K.

my recent experience with U-Haul was not a good experience the overall customer service was horrible and the whole process of me actually securing the vehicle that I needed to do the event that I was using the truck for was not a good experience I believe that u- haul needs to work better with their contractors who are renting out these vehicles and they need to come up with a better system because the system that they have right now at least in the area where I am it's not very goodJevona A.

The lady working the front wasn't friendly. Complained that she had too many trailers and didn't want to take ours. She did eventually take it since it was our original drop off location.Andrew M.

REPLACE THE WIPER BLADES!! I received neither my requested pickup location nor my requested truck. I requested a pickup location within walking distance to my home. This was changed to a location some 30 miles away with no explanation. Then, upon arriving at said further location, the truck was not there. I called your 800 number and was rerouted to my final pickup location. It was there that I was informed that my requested truck (10') is not available for one-way rental, and that I would have to utilize the 15' truck, which was wholly oversized for my move and a much larger vehicle than I am experienced with operating. On a positive note, the personnel at the pick-up and drop-off locations were friendly and professional.Lauralee T.

I showed 24 hours early for a â€˜vehicle inspection' as directed by the email - was told that there was no need. Then when taking the trailer, I was just told â€œit's out thereâ€, and given no further help. I checked the I indicators and drove off. When I then realized that I would need to drive the trailer at night, I went to check the running lights and they didn't work. I spent an hour reconnecting some frayed and broken wires inside the trailer hitch. When I dropped the trailer back, I received the â€œdrop it over thereâ€ treatment again - no help. I then complained about the lighting issue, and was told that they would get back to me. After 48 hours, I chased up the result of my complaint and was told to call the regional manager who refused to refund my money, instead telling me that I should have called the 800 number, and that I wasn't qualified to fix a trailer. Like they would have fixed an issue at 10pm for a 5am departure! I am still waiting for a resolution. Obviously this is not big money, but it's not the point ..: the trailer was faulty, and clearly there are no checks in place to highlight this issue. This coupled with rude customer service means I will not use again.Hugh N.

First of all, I was supposed to pick up my trailer in Hilton Head, so it was VERY frustrating to have to go all the way to Beaufort. I made my reservation a month in advance. It seems like it shouldn't be too hard to get a piece of equipment to Hilton Head. This is NOT the fault of this location, of course. When we arrived, we were told that someone else had our trailer and it wasn't expected back for hours. Again, VERY frustrating. The trailer happened to be in Hilton Head... so we arranged for that customer to drop it off at our location. I appreciate the flexibility in allowing this unorthodox method of getting our trailer. But the trailer got there 4 hours later than we wanted it.Cynthia F.
The only issue I had with the trailer was with the wiring harness being too short to plug in correctly into the built in adapter on my truck, which sits just to the left of the license plate.DOUGLAS S.
