Judith S.I need to help my granddaughter move so I rented a truck for 24 hours. When I got the truck at 1:00 pm I was told that I could only have the truck for 10 hours and it would need to be back at 11:18 pm but the time could be extended to 9:00 am the following day. I live on another side of town so not wanting to get up early the following morning to return the truck I had to rush to move so I could return the truck the same night. I didn't know I had to take pics of the truck's interior for cleanliness until I read the text after the truck had been returned. I called the renter the following day to tell them that I wasn't aware of the pics for the return. The wife said she would have her husband call me because he handled the renting. I never received a call but I was charged $25 for the clean-up fee. We have rented from U-haul many times and any location will verify that we have never returned a truck uncleaned. Apparently, the owner of this location figured since I didn't have pics to prove that the truck was clean when returned, they would go ahead and charge a cleaning fee because it would be my word against theirs. I'll never do business with this location again. They are dishonest and I won't recommend them to anyone. If you want to improve for the next customer let the owner at this location know that they need to abide by the rules of U-haul because the time they allotted was unfair. They put me under undue stress just so I could meet their 10-hour deadline. And they could've told me about the pics needed for the return because being in a hurry to get my moving done checking my phone for texts was the last thing on my mind.
Charles L.I rented my truck from a different location. I originally had a pick up time of 11AM. My movers that I hired through U-Haul called and said they needed to come earlier since they had another moved scheduled after lunch. I changed the time to 8AM. The movers called back and delayed the move. Since Hurricane Ian was blowing hard at 8AM and my movers were coming later I arrived at 9:12AM and my truck, Dollies and Blankets were rented to someone else. You had my credit card information and had already charged me. Why did you give away my truck.
