There are those of us that aren't the best at technology. If the app doesn't work on your phone, they won't allow you a truck. There should be another way for us seniors when showing our license. I did finally get the app to work on my photo to take the pic of my license. It was a stressful moment for me.

Check in and out is a little chaotic at the gas station counter.

There was no one there from UHaul when I showed up. It took almost an hour for the gas station owner to clear everything and get me on my way because he isn’t a UHaul representative and had to do what he could on behalf of the UHaul person who was not present. The gas station personnel did a good job working with what they had, however I blame UHaul for not being present and for the delay it caused me.

I was led to believe the owner would be there until 2:00 p.m., he was not. Instead I had to complete a contract over the phone with a person I could barely understand. The worker that was there could not resolve a brake light problem on the trailer, but told me I would be fine without them. The main contact at the location was swamped with gas and store customers, which force me to wait while he tended other business. A person should be dedicated to the UHAUL business. I cleaned the trash out of the vehicle left from previous rental. 2 Bottles, 1 house slipper, Fruit rollups and miscellaneous pieces of paper. all under the seats.

The employee responsible for renting the truck was abrupt and appeared to be inconvenienced by my business. He did not give me instructions other than to refer me to the application form on the website. He did not educate me on any of the costs involved, especially the charge of $1 per mile. The truck was in the far corner of the lot, and was not pulled up for my use. Also, I was struck by a piece of the sun visor that fell off as I was driving. It was apparent that this had happened before, and was just pushed back on. The refund for my $100 deposit was not available when I returned the truck. He told me I would need to come back the next day. At that time, I was handed a receipt with my refund stapled to it. He apparently didn't want to be bothered with coins, so he rounded down, shorting me a small amount. In itself, not a huge deal. But adds to the total unprofessional experience. My largest complaint, is that I was charged for 46 miles. I only went 11!! Never again. There are other options, Lowe's, Home Depot and Menard's all rent trucks for local moves.

The entire check-in check-out process that is now done on phones instead of by people was very frustrating and inefficient in my experience. I tried to check in the truck when we returned it multiple times but it still never took and I had to wait two days to get a finalized bill. I also had to call customer service to let them know what happened so that I wouldn't be charged extra days because someone may have thought I didn't return the truck.

You need to get your whole act together. From the 1-800 number where you can order your truck to the locations. When I called the 1-800 number they scheduled the truck for Wyandotte but they did not tell me the location did not open till later than the time I made for the pick up. You need to have some way for your personnel to check on the open and closed times for any location. You demanded a credit card number for the order. But when my niece went to pick up the truck they claimed there was no credit card on file. If you are going to demand a credit card number you should have a safe reliable way of maintaining it so the person does not have to give it to you again. I do not have a cell phone and someone was to contact me beforehand about my order. I did not get an e-mail till late the night before and did not see till the next day the e-mail showing that you just went ahead and changed my pick up time. You need to find a better way of doing this so if there is any problems with you changing things on people they can work with you. Another thing is you should not let anyone who is not capable of driving a big truck of leaving with it. The truck I got was too big for my niece to drive. Then I noticed that my credit card had not been charged. I went to Wyandotte and was told that the credit card was rejected and go online to pay the bill. I felt that I should be able to pay for it at the location. I added my niece as the driver. For some reason you changed the account to her name. I think that you tried to use my credit card with her name and of course the bank would reject it. You need to keep the account in the name of the renter, the person whose credit card you demanded, and not the drivers name. If your locations cannot be more attentive to your customers maybe you should find new locations. Look I have never needed to rent a truck before and had always heard good things about u-haul so I decided to give you a try. But this has been a real pain from the beginning to the end. I have no plans of using U-haul again. There are too many other companies out there to go with. By the way my niece also said that the truck looked like it had been in an accident, was dirty, and drove badly.

Don’t call and threaten more charges when the trailer was dropped off 10 plus hours before that. Very unorganized.

I would not rent another u haul again. After loading truck it would not start. 1 and a half hour to come out so my nephew had to fix it. Bad experience

I'm satisfied with the Wyandotte location. I'm am very irate with the service of the ( where i originally reserved) Patio market and hardware in rockwood. When i arrived to claim my reservation is wasn't available and it caused huge delays on a stressful day for myself. I would've at least appreciated a heads up before driving there. that may help the next customer

Call center needs to be more in sync with scheduling/availability times I turned the truck back in with a full tank of gas and clean To avoid having my favorite U-Haul pick up/drop off location end up with an upset customer I returned the truck 4 hours before I technically should have Another customer had a reservation for 8 am and my reservation expired at 11 am So I corrected the problem for you Have a great day!
