Declined CDW multiple times, got charged CDW. Was told it was a temporary charge and it would be removed when returned

Sherri MWhen we arrived, even though I had selected mobile pickup, it said there was no equipment assigned to my reservation. I waited on hold to speak to someone for 20 mins before finally going into the store. When I asked what was going on, the store associate just told me oh that truck was put out of service this morning. I didn't receive an email or anything. Thankfully we were able to rent a different truck, but this would have been nice to know ahead of time since typically there are people lined up to do certain things when someone rents a uhaul for the day.
Farrah MWhen I called to confirm there would be a truck available on Sunday 27th I was guaranteed on the phone and via email that there would be. When I got to the location the truck was not there and there was none available.

kevin pThe office was closed. Used online drop off at this location, simple process. Thought the drop off box could easily be broken into.
Glenn WMy booking was completely screwed up. Incorrect destination. Number of blankets reserved was incorrect. Received a text message changing my drop off location after I took possession of the truck which resulted in me going over my approved mileage. Which I was charged for. Overall, this rental was a complete shit show.
Don KOverall the rental truck was good - but I had rented a 10ft truck and not a 15 and for the distance the cost for the fuel was unbearable. I don't understand when I reserved the truck over three weeks in advance that this would be an issue. Very disappointed in the end result and the extra costs I had to put forward.

Lorna MGet this location a lock for their trucks. I arrived at 6 am, 2 hours before pickup after being alerted the truck would be ready for me. It was not ready because there was no lock to put on the back of the truck. I was put off schedule by well over 2 hours because of this and lost the equivalent of what I was charged for the rental because I could not pick up one of my stops in that 2 hour window. I will not use this service again if there is not the ability to pickup early morning.

Marion MFirst....Very good Customer Service from the IRVING U-Haul Location in Windsor.. That was a surprise. 2) I thought the overall U-Haul rental charge for 7 hours for a small truck was a high...I was very surprised that the cost was higher than Enterprise.
David Bthe location is difficult without GPS if you are not familiar with the area. Overall NS has poor signage for most locations outside of cities.

Neil MThe cab floor was dirty. The cargo floor was dirtier with an odor of manure. The wiper blades were in need of replacement long ago as they barely functioned and were very noisy. The gentleman who was at the pickup location however was very nice and professional to speak with.
Wilfred MGentleman that assisted was aggressive especially when the pricing i paid was over $40 more than anticipated as he said the cost of insurance rental went up from 30 to 40...he was rude and a bit creepy towards me, a female... but was perfectly fine with my brother beside me.

Melody Rthe trailer lifTbjack handle was loosely secured so as I was rotating the handle my hand would constantly get jammed against the frame work. The employee that dealt with the rental stated that the service technician was told of this defect but the response was that it was ok like that because it worked well enough to be able to use it. I was annoyed that the unit was not in top condition for use. I was able to use the trailer and was happy with the overall experience.
darryl mWe're non smokers. Strong smoke smell in cab. We'd suggest the cleaning include air freshener or deodorant. The exhaust a little loud. Not sure if that's the way it should sound. Also would appreciate KM's instead of Mileage. Would help to work expenses out a little better. Otherwise the Truck worked well.
LLOYD Ethe employees working at this location try there absolute best but Uhauls required use of the very outdated ipad that freezes and takes 45 minutes to load is just completely disrepectful to both your customer and your employees; uhaul had a much better renting system 2-3 years ago; 2 minutes worth of questions and you were out the door UHAUL GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, I WILL LEAVE A BAD REVIEW EACH AND EVERY TIME BECAUSE OF THIS; THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE; YOU HAVE PLACES SUCH AS HOOD HARDWARE AND AUTOMOTIVE (A GOOD COMPANY) WHO GAVE UP ON RENTALS FOR THIS VERY REASON. I REPEAT GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER

Ralph TThe truck was very dirty. The inside of the truck cab has not been cleaned in a very long time. I had to wash the seat before I sat on it. The inside of the truck cab smelled of cigarette smoke. The back of the truck was dirty. I have rented from U-Haul numerous times in the past, but this is the first time I have used the location in Windsor. I won't be renting from this location in the future, as the equipment is not maintained there.
Marion MPrevious renter must have been in a muddy location as the box floor was muddy. Had to sweep it out before I was able to use it. I even asked the person at the rental place if the box was clean as I had a previous rental a couple of years ago that was the same.

Melody RThey did not have 2 of the 3 utility dollys we had reserved and we not made aware of it until we arrived to pick up the truck, and it was too late in the day to find replacements. The lady who served us was great to deal with however, and I would rent from there again
John TOur pickup location was supposed to be in Halifax on Robie street. Only downside I would say to this whole experience was that we received a call the day before we were to pickup our trailer saying we'd have to go to Windsor. Woman on the phone was not at all helpful and flippant with me. We got $100 off our rental. Had to pickup the trailer a day early which they said was free. Truly this wasn't free. If we hadn't changed plans and rushed to Windsor there was no guarantee our trailer would be there. $100 didn't even cover the cost of our gas to and from Windsor as well as parking at an outdoor lot which was $22 each day for an extra two days.

CLAUDE Mbooked vehicle to pick up in Saint John, NB. no vehicle, had to go to Sussex NB to get it. thought there should have been more of a concession from uHaul not having a vehicle WHERE i booked it for, over a month in advance. UHaul rep was a gem
Peter MTechnology issues slowed the return process. But convenient to refill gas tank.Fully loaded truck only averaged 8 mpg not 18 as advertised.
Dan FThe lady, Cristal was very helpful. However this is the second time we've rented from this location and both times the truck was not available at the pick up time. The first time we need to be rerouted to Truro to pick up a truck we needed, the second time we had to wait three hours for it to arrive. Not impressive.
Robyn CThe agent we dealt with seemed to be frazzled. Even though I booked the truck well in advance things should have gone smoother. Then when we were leaving he tried to tell us we could only have it til 1pm. I told him we'd booked it til 6pm! He didn't even come out to walk around the truck with us to confirm and and all marks on it til my husband went in to get him. Again he seemed frazzled. There was also very large scratches along the back end near the top of the box which he never mentioned. I'm guessing he would have charged us for it. We won't go to him ever again! Chris Williamson

FRED EMore choice of vehicles. It did work out nicely that a smaller truck was available for part of the day, but initially we had to reserve a larger truck than we needed for the job. Service was very friendly!

BROOKLYN VI was advised that I would have to return the vehicle with a minimum of 1/2 tank of gas but discovered that the vehicle had less than 1/2 tank of gas when rented. In addition I discovered after rental that there was a discount if I cleaned the vehicle before returning it. I was not advised of this before picking it up and I cleaned it before I returned it but I still paid the full rental price.
