David LTypical U-Haul I booked way ahead to have a truck in Grande Prairie to move and they didn't. Made me miss a day of work to drive to Whitecourt to pick one up 2 1/2 hours both ways. Ended up having to add a car hauler to get both vehicles back to Grande Prairie and decided to keep it for the move to save on fuel since I had to already drive to Whitecourt and back. The lady at the location was very nice. No debit or credit card machine on site. Little experience on trailer hook up just handed me the paper with instructions.
KLYE MReserved a 15 foot moving truck, day before move was contacted that no trucks were available? Was advised there was a 20 foot truck 300 kms away but I would have to get it myself. Was told for my inconvenience I was given an extra 300 kms and an extra day. Which only covered the extra mileage I had to drive the truck 300 kms to the city I actually had a reservation for and the extra day was required to pick it up so I could get it there to use. Compensating someone for not having a truck available that was reserved and having to pick up the truck in a different location was disappointing . The persons I had dealt with were polite but I felt this wasn’t the first time as they’re answered were well scripted. The truck had 700000 miles and a smashed driver side mirror.
Garry LYou need to improve your truck head light its hard to drive during night time. You need to change bright white head light. Or LED head light for safety reason.

TANNER SI arrived late so much of this is on me. Anyhoo, I was given a different serial number for the truck … I found the truck on the contract but it was obviously not ready. The one that was had a different number. Called the help line who was exceptionally helpful. She walked me through unlocking the vehicle and start up. The outside of the truck was very dirty ((it is winter) but the inside was fine. So off I went. Truck is fine … gas millage is poor but whatever…. So I returned the truck yesterday and to my surprise was charged $75 for extra millage. When I changed the truck from the original van in GP (only had a 24 footer … not my original 15…) I was promised an extra day and extended millage coverage …. Approx return from GP. Plus 200 kms … it’s not a huge deal all costs considered but was a bit of a surprise. The fact I got the truck I needed at the time I needed speaks volumes in itself

Kelly JI had a reservation for a week for pick up in Edson…I got a call the day before that there was not one available. I had to drive to Whitecourt to pick one up as I had no other option. $60 extra in fuel and the time I will not get back.

Ken MMy departure location was Edmonton and I found out less than 24 hrs prior to my pickup time that there weee no 6x12 in Edmonton . I had to drive to Whitecourt to pick it up which was very stressful and expensive. The service on Edmonton was terrible, the service in Whitecourt was friendly and professional.

Robert BTrailer had a broken light. I asked the attendant and she didn't care. Told me to put it in report. Trailer didn't match with the app checkout. Attendant didn't care. I did not like the fact I had to pay with credit card. I would have preferred to pay cash. Back door of trailer didn't seal. It aloud alot of snow in. I was pretty mad cause I was hauling a motorcycle and it got covered in snow. It seems that about 50% of the time we rent from U-Haul there are issues.

Blair KNo staff there when dropping off on a Sat. Husband had to lift the 6x12 trailer off the truck by himself, there were no wheel blocks or dollies anywhere, thankfully he wasn’t injured. Someone older or with mobility issues could be seriously Injured and may even lay there until someone comes on Monday, would not be survivable in a significant winter condition. Very Unimpressed with this!

Eric AHad less than 1/4 fuel, was extremely dirty inside cab, outside truck, and inside cargo space. It was 30 below and snowing and I had to drive 120 miles to pick up truck from location of the reservation. The front tires were worn bald on the outside edge of the tread, no chains available.

Raphael BWe had to double book this trailer rental because we know about the Uhaul shuffle. The original booking was made in High Level Alberta two weeks before the move date. A Last minute booked and took the trailer the day before our date. Fortunately we were able to get this one. We had to drive it 8 hours empty to make the move. Always double book to Play the Uhaul shuffle…
Robert MOverall the experience is great. The site has a gate to the left that clearly said "Uhaul Returns" and had arrows pointing to the gate. I pulled up to this gate, and the main gate opened instead. So I had to back up awkwardly and pull into the main gate. This site is completely gated off, and it is just not clear how you enter, or drop off the uhaul trailer. I have been here twice and same experience both times. Worker was great and very helpful, just confusing site.

Sasha SMy uhaul had no AC, turned off when coming to a full stop. Keys didn't operate in the door. I had to crawl through the passenger side to unlock the drivers door. And check engine light was on. No pre inspection was done by the worker.
Shan f*INTEREST SCAM?* for debit card users!! Be warned that you may not get your deposit back the day of retuning. After being told at rental that my deposit would be returned to me when I returned the unit, we had to prove that it was the same card that the deposit was taken from by matching to the paperwork provided at rental (no big deal we were advised to keep paperwork on us but were then informed that they couldn’t process the refund as their machine wouldn’t “recognize the debit card as the one being used for initial rental” and that we now have to wait 5-7 weeks for a cheque to come in the mail - NOT HAPPY! The people that we dealt with at both locations were GREAT!! Uhauls system however IS NOT!!

Christina MI had originally booked for Edson AB; and due to a death in my family had to bump my reservation by a week. Unfortunately, U-Haul was not able to bring the trailer to the Edson location for me; to make it convenient for the grieving customer. Instead; the morning of pick up; I had to drive an hour away to Whitecourt AB to pick up the trailer. That was not convenient; pleasant, or customer service.

Allen BThis was the only drop off in Whitecourt. Closed on Sundays, tried calling the number on the board on fence, no answer. Used the internet to submit pictures and drop off info. This didn't work well either, it took several attempts to complete.

ray pThe doors on the unit would not allow for certain items to fit even though they would fit once inside. The roof leaked. The old style crank ball lock backed off. 1982 model should be retired, I booked over a month ahead and not at that location, uhaul doesn’t care if you book early, they won’t hold anything for you.
