This was the first time in many, many years of renting a U-Haul truck and we were so very pleased. We stopped at the location to check on the process and were told to go online to reserve our choice and were told that our choice of vehicle would be back the next day. The online reservation was easy to complete, and the truck was there as promised. The in-person process was also simple. Our 10-foot truck worked out perfectly for our needs. Returning our truck was also simple. I had questions about the upcharge for the insurance coverage and asked my insurance agent about the cost. they were of the opinion that the charge was a pretty good deal. Gracias.Paul B.

I know the area which it is at is small and the town itself is small as well, but I wish each U-Haul rental place was the same meaning ample parking a store to buy boxes and such. not a tiny closet to walk into. I also the town is small it's not his only income either. Too bad the U-Haul company doesn't help out more at this location to make it more appealing to the eye and want to go in.Nicholas D.

In town, No personal interaction. Luckily, I noticed poster on door/window about drop off/check-in. Might be better if that is bigger or more noticeable or perhaps a text message sent on day needing to return with link or directions of how to drop off when nobody is at facility.Jonathan R.

Very easy pick up and drop off. Only problem was insurance was added back to the bill at pick up, that I had declined during online reservation. Time being an issue, I did not contest it. But that seems to happen every time I use u haul. A bit frustrating.Todd N.
I reserved a smaller truck from a location in Albert Lea MN weeks before I arrived. I flew in from Canada only to be called by UHaul 2 days before I was to pick up the truck and told there were NO trucks for me at my desired location. Not only did I have to travel to another city to pick up a larger truck that I didn't need, I was charged the extra even though the mistake was not mine, but UHaul's. The pick up location I ended up going to was fine though.Victoria N.

My problem was with the app. It was toxic. The reason I did a pre-check-in was to speed things up. A week later I'm still waiting for the promised call back. (At this point don't bother.) After uploading my license 4 times. Then again on the phone... All with bad cell service and an app telling me I have to travel to where there is good cell service to perform all of the things I did in the pre-check-in. The in the new location the app will not allow me to proceed because I'm not at the U-Haul store. (What a joke!)JAMES G.

No cruise control was awful...in 2022, I found it unacceptable! Was also a pain that I wanted to rent in Albert Lea, MN but had to drive the extra miles to Austin, MN (AND had to pay the additional miles). No reason the two sites couldn't get the size truck I needed to Albert Lea! I got the move done with no issues with the truck. It was just very outdated...the most tech the truck had was FM radio and a seek and scan button. The U-Haul app also did not work when I was asked to snap a picture of my driver's license or when turning in the truck and they wanted me to upload a picture of the odometer and fuel level. Changed pick up location and said they would give us extra miles but did not. Did not tell us it was self-checkin so when we arrived the store was closed and we had to call the national number to be told it was self check in.Michael V.
Let the location gas it up. Busy enough moving and having to guess how much gas too put in seems ridiculous. Especially when I did not drive it that much only 8 or 9 miles and i was being safe and put 20 or 25 for estimated miles that i would drive it and still got charged for that. I already more then paid for that gas by driving less but still had to put gas in it and saw no money back in my pocket for driving it less miles...Tyler N.

This place stunk like an ashtray. The smell was so strong, it triggered my asthma and made it hard to breathe.. Also, they told me the tank was 1/4 fall when it was actually 1/8.JEREMY C.

Don't give them the wrong information. I was very upset because we had to drive 53 miles to pick up this trailer when I was told it was only a half hour drive and didn't tell me the miles otherwise I would never have agreed to it. I made reservations a week ahead of time for the trailer and was given a Rochester address to pick it up and then 3 days before I was to pick it up I get a call the location changed. Was not happy at all!mary M.

My experience with this location was a bit tainted by being informed the day before that my reservation for a truck in Rochester, MN that I made 4 months in advance didn't actually have an available truck and I had to drive 40 miles to Austin to pick one up. When I called this location to verify they had the truck, the phone was answered with just "Hello?" I asked if it was Westside Auto Repair, and he said only "Yes". What business answers a phone like they do at home? I explained I had a reservation for their 10' truck the next morning and he says "I don't have a truck". Ummmm, you don't? Then he explains that a customer had the truck. Ok, is it going to be available by 10am the next morning when I pick it up? He says "Well I told the customer she needed to have it back by then, but I can't control if/when they bring it back on time". In person, the guy was nice, but this interaction really made me anxious, and it's not like moving isn't already stressful.Jill S.
Not this locations fault but we reserved the trailer for Faribault, but had to drive 1 hr one way to pick up the trailer. We should not have to drive 2 hours to get a trailer when our local U-Haul is 5 mins up the road.Trevor B.

Rick was helpful, transaction was quick. Truck had a huge crack in the windshield and windshield was filthy. Aside from the safety issue with the windshield and the dirty windshield everything else was fine.Robert B.
There was no gas in the truck so we had to fill it twice PLUS pay mileage, and it's not my fault there's no uhaul closer so I had to take it back to where I moved from, instead of where I moved TO. I rented a dolly, there was no dolly. Your online check in still doesn't work, and you overcharged me.KERRI D.

This was a smaller location, but the staff was very helpful and kept it very simple. I came in, they acknowledged me right away, helped us unhook and we were on our way. I wish the pick up from the other location would have gone this smoothly.Catherine J.
For the U-Haul team, could you provide more visibility into network outages for the U-Haul app and uhaul.com websites? Downdetector seems to keep track of the outages at uhaul.com, but it's hard to tell if my phone is failing, or if the backend for the app isn't working. It seems to happen more often when I'm picking up a truck than returning it?Paul F.

The business was closed when we got there. Waited an hour before he showed up. Didnt help or inspect trailer's working order. Just looked at hook up. No customer service at all. Another location had helped us find a trailer and booked it for me. Cole was very helpful all the way around. Even by taking the time to answer messages that we had made it home safe.Above and beyond for Cole. The Austin MN contractor booked the trailer for 6days when I told him that I only needed 4days.SUSAN C.

They tried to give me a trailer that was filthy and had one bad bald tire. I told him that this was unacceptable for long haul trip. He then brought me to another location with other trailers and found one that was acceptable. They were not following Covid masking requirement either.BRIAN S.
