Your policy of giving a customer a truck that only has 1/8 tank of gas to start the rental is a very customer unfriendly approach, especially for a local rental. We had to fill the truck's tank not knowing the gas mileage we would get driving in the mountainous areas between Westcliffe and Canon City Colorado. We returned the vehicle with about $50 of extra gas than when we picked it up. This was in addition to the .79 a mile fee. It would be better to have the vehicle fuel tank full in order to allow the customer to only replace what fuel they have used.

Truck was junk it wouldn't stay running. Steering was all over the road. Second worst experience with U-Haul I've had out of the dozens of times using U-Haul.

First off the actual employees were great. It was fast in and out and they were polite and helpful. However this location is literally UP A MOUNTAIN in the middle of nowhere. We almost turned around halfway up thinking there was no way on earth there was a Uhaul location renting trailers up there. After 1.5 hours we finally made it though 🙌. The personnel were helpful and soon we were on our way with our filthy ice covered trailer. Again I can't really blame the personnel as it was a snow storm the previous day, but the trailer was far from clean. The drive was beautiful, but not when you are trying to get a car hauler and get back down again. Would never recommend as a place to get a trailer , unless you live up that mountain but judging by the town size...you probably dont.

I'm not sure who messed up, but I asked for 7 days and the contract was written for 6, but I received a confirmation for 7. When I didn't return the truck after 6 days, even though I called Westcliffe Petro and told them I needed the truck until Tuesday, U-Haul called and accused me of stealing their truck and threatened legal action. I spent about 3 hours trying to straighten it out, instead of unloading. Then, when I returned the truck, Westcliffe Petro called U-Haul abut the changes and they wouldn't back up what I had been told and confirmed by email. The result was, I got charged for 2 extra days, 2days insurance, plus taxes, instead of one day. Overall, I find the dealers very reputable, but U-Haul company as a very poor company to rent from, thus I will not bother to rent from them again and will pass along the word to others.

Was forced to change plans due to unforeseen circumstances. Change in drop off location resulted in a penalty of over $600. Not specific to this location but U-Haul in general. Here’s what I learned: when a customer gets stuck, U-Haul also sticks it to you. Loyal U-Haul customer for years- why should I continue my loyalty?

And when we returned the trailer, again the return location had the wrong information because the pick up location was unable to complete the transaction due to UHaul web site issues. Fortunately, again, the drop off location was able to clear everything up and take care of it, but caused everyone time and trouble. Extremely frustrating.

The Sange de Christo mountains are very pretty. Consider moving them them closer to your facility to provide a more scenic view.

The owner initially told me to “hook up the trailer and check the lights” then another employee actually came and connected the trailer. The owner is self centered and lacks customer service skills! Usual should consider moving their assets to the local lumber company or another service provider.

We had to drop the truck off on a holiday, so the store was closed, but that was expected. Unfortunately, we turned in the keys before we completed the online turn-in process on my smartphone! PLEASE tell customers to complete the drop off questions online BEFORE they lock the vehicle to turn in. We had to estimate mileage and such, so it was difficult.

Straps that tied down my car to the car carrier were not secured properly and I almost lost my vehicle. Damage was done to the vehicle. This after we were overcharged almost $1500 more than the quote we were quoted. 2 tires were under filled. Unable to print the online reciept. NOT HAPPY with UHaul - Unable to contact anyone.

I was not able to get a itemization for what I was being charged and total was quite a bit more than when I reserved the trailer. When I got back to Canon I found the right tire was super low. Other than checking the lights nothing else was done. Trailer was parked in high grass so was not able to see tire was low at that time. The trailer itself was clean, pulled well. Drop off was quick and easy. But I still want a ITEMIZED BILL so I can see what I paid for.

The service was excellent, but somehow the wrong truck number was entered into the paperwork and caused multiple problems, getting billed for other people's rentals over the next couple of weeks. I was also set up to pick up the truck in Colo Spgs, and was very unpleasantly surprised to learn I had to drive to Westcliffe 2/3 days earlier than planned to pick up the only truck available for my weekend move. But the Westcliffe location and staff were excellent - none of the above was their fault - they were very helpful. So, warnings to everyone - before driving away from any u-haul location, or when dropping off, check the truck number on the truck against the paperwork printed out from the computer, and also take a photo of the truck number on the dashboard and on the back of the truck - it will help clear things up if the same thing happens to you.

No issues from either location. I feel as a company though paying $257 for a four day rental is fair. However, after returning it after only 24 hours it is a shame I could not get money back. Being military, money is tight and it makes me second guess using uhaul when I spend that much for 24 hours.

This pickup location was doomed to be problematic...as we had to drive 3 hours to get to it...over mountain passes, through hairpin curves, etc... The possibility/probability that there would be no local one-way trailers should have been communicated when we made the reservation (8-9 days in advance) or when we changed the pickup date.

Have the truck pick up in the location requested instead of 300 miles away. I reserved a truck a month prior to pick up and was told the day before that I had to drive 300 miles to get it.
