I have no problem with the Purcellville location. The gentleman was very nice and accommodating. What I thought was terrible was the Uhaul online experience. I reserved a 20 foot truck in Manassas Va a week prior to needing it. I was sent a text message the day before that there where no trucks at that location. The location that was substituted was 40 miles away! To me that is ridiculous, but with that late of notification I had no other option than to pick up the truck there. Trust me, I tried different truck rental companies but it was too late. The next time I need a truck, it will not be Uhaul.

rented the truck with gas guage at 3/4 and told me it was 7/8 and i returned at 7/8 but U-haul charged me $34 to fill the tank. nothing short of amazing. i sent a refund request, but have heard nothing. I'm in a sales capacity and if i ever did this to my customers, i'd be out of a job.

More fun and games with the computer system. My contract said to return the truck and auto trailer to a given location. When I arrived on a Monday morning, I was greeted by the UHaul rep only to tell me that I have to return the equipment somewhere else. My contract was explicit on the drop-off location, but UHaul told me to return it to another location. The computer system should have never allowed the drop-off location to be where trailers weren't supported. After a call to the area manager, it was sorted out and a reasonable drop-off location was selected instead. HORRIBLE computer system, but great support folks. They worked around the problems, but it was a hassle. Good rental equipment that performed as expected.

Service staff was friendly, courteous and competent. The equipment was surprisingly clean and well-maintained. They only cheated the odometer by 1 mile...this time. It was worth the extra .99 cents. We'll be back !

When I reserved my truck I selected drop off at Charles Town WV, how could you as a company change my drop off location to VA without even asking me in the last minute? That’s not on my contract and I have the screen shots, it farther away and use more gas, cause inconvenience. And the U-haul customer wasn’t helpful at all, I won’t recommend U-Haul to anyone.

Uhaul service, I’ve never been more disappointed with customer service then I have been with you today. For a large company and as much as you charge per rental, this is unacceptable. I WAS HUNGUP ON TWICE. I have my own company and have had to start renting trucks to carry my products to customers. After todays experience with Uhaul, I will be searching for another more reliable company, one that values standards and believes in the American way of valuing people and providing quality product and service. I rented your van a week in advance, I called the Purcellville rental company six times to confirm and to make sure I understood how your app worked. I never once received a call back. The day I went to pickup my rental, I could not get the app to work, I stood out in the cold trying to retrieve my rental for two hours. This is unacceptable for an organization of your size and money. Who runs this place? He needs to be replaced. From a very disappointed consumer. Big companies taking over all the ma and pa business and destroying what used to matter most, “PEOPLE”.

The interior of this vehicle was not cleaned prior to my use. More attention to detail and cleanliness of the local fleet will get my business in the future. A little pride in what a location leases goes a loooong way in building a local reputation and preserving the image of the U-Haul brand.

The pickup procedures took over an hour. I set up an online account the night prior. I showed up to pick up the vehicle and had to set up my account multiple times again. Then it wouldn’t recognize my gps phone position to release the vehicle. I had to call and reenter everything manually...again! I finally got the vehicle 1 1/2 hours late. Beyond frustrating cuz I had a 3 hour drive with specific pickup time. Obviously missed it. Next time I’ll reserve during work hours.

I understand that this is not the typical full-service site, but parking was virtually non-existent with all of the other industrial vehicles parked in the vicinity and I was concerned about the truck being towed as a result. Returning the truck to an unstaffed drop-off location at the end of a move wasn't exactly the most confidence-inspiring end to a long day. Glad everything worked out, though.

I swept clean the cab and the truck. Pictures attached. Location is claiming the cab was muddy and had cigarette butts?? I've never smoked a cigarette in my life and there was nothing whatsoever in the cab. They either have the wrong truck or are flat out lying. After speaking with U-Haul this morning, my understanding is the $25 cleaning charge will be refunded shortly.

The truck was garbage; drove like a tank - the steering wheel was cocked to the right about 2", which made it difficult to keep the truck in a straight line on the highway. Whenever the truck hit a bump on the highway the steering would almost come out of your hands, had to have two hands on the steering wheel at all time - for a 10hr drive, it was exhausting!. Also, the radio did not lock on to any channel at anytime!
