Horrible experience! I was running late and the male representative called my Persia l phone. I'm er and demanded I be there by 10 am! I needed up calling the 800 number to talk to them because I was on the way and was going to be there at 10:05am. The 800 customer care was nice enough to change my reservation time to 1030am! I've been renting uhaul trailers and trucks for hours from the mechanicsville location and have never been treated so unfairly. When I arrived they didn't have an appliance dolly and I was so upset because I reserved one. The manger kept telling the male representative to please get me checked out asap but the male rep told me to go wait in my truck and he would be with me! Over an hour later I was still in my truck waiting so I had to go out to the lot and talk to the manager who was nice enough to help me finally check out! The dolly they gave me had horrible wheels and was hard to use. That make representative never followed up on me and they where helping other people as they where checking in and out while I was left in my car! Totally unfair! Never will use this location again. the truck was on empty and i was told i would get a $40 fuel credit if it was on 1/4 of a tank when i returned it. I was only given 12.50 fuel credit when I received my bill. when i called the guy (not the one when I picked it up) said he had no idea why the morning guy would have quoted me that. the morning guy also told me it was going to be reduced to .89 cents a mile as the truck was not cleaned and swept out. (it was very dirty). but I was still charged at $1 a mile. so I was told one thing but billed another. a lesson why not to go with a email invoice. I was screwed out of $40 in fuel as I may have just returned the truck empty like it was given to me. when i called back about all this the guy on the phone was no help to me.James F.

The customer service I received was less than subpar. After attempting to inform the employee on duty about pre-existing damage to the u-haul before taking possession of it I was told by the manager that â€œI if I didn't want the truck I could just leave.â€ I was really disappointed in this entire experience and intend to take my business elsewhere in the future.DAVIDLEE R.

Jessica the manager is the worst manager in existence. She's incredibly rude to everybody she talks to. And every time they charge me for gas even though I put gas in it and even take a photo to prove I returned the truck where it should be. I am a small business and rents a lot of trucks from U-Haul. I would like to speak to the strengths of the customer service at this location. They were warm, patient and friendly. They made sure that they had everything that i needed. They wanted to make sure that my moving experience was a positive one and that they did everything they could to clear the path of problems. The van had more mileage on the odometer then what was stated on the contract. I brought it to their attention before I left. They stated, nothing could be done until a manager came in. I had to make a 3rd trip to get the mileage issue resolved. The manager had an attitude, was borderline unprofessional. Will go to the next closes U-haul location. The trailer I was assigned was missing a tire so I was given a different one, which was fine. In the process of getting that one connected, the associate that was helping me asked others for help and some guy came out and yelled at me to get in my truck and move it. Incredibly unprofessional. We were waiting (along with 10-15 other people) in line for more than an hour. The store was scheduled to open at 9AM but they didn't open until after 10AM. This is very unacceptable especially for a Sunday; This was the only day out of the week I could move, but because of the delay we had to hurry and rush our work. Upon pickup, there was only one staff member present, so the process took too much time. He was great, but the location was short staffed. When I returned the van, I looked around for a staff member, and someone honked. It turned out a staff member was sitting in a pickup truck and honked at me to get my attention. He mumbled something that I couldn't understand, then finally said â€œgimme the key.â€ I won't be back.Robert M.
1-This was not location I reserved van at, but 2.5 miles away. No notice sent informing me pickup and dropoff location changed until I tried picking up. Glad I wasn't pressed for time 2 - Van had considerable body damage that was NOT reflected in the original pictures on the equipment condition verification web page. Spent 20 minutes going over the van documenting the damage and submitting to the page. Experience concerned me that I was being set up to pay for damage previously done. 3 - Charged $25 cleaning fee for dog hair in cab on return. Daughter's dog is white and sheds a lot, she had on clothes. I returned van 2.5 hours before end of reservation. Isn't light cleaning part of normal between customer maintenance? Employees at this facility did not seem above board. Person in front of me given van different than one on his online contract because shift leader couldn't find keys to that van. He returned to report discrepancy in mileage before he left and she told him not to worry. Wonder if he was overcharged. While I waited for my return inspection to be completed, overheard shift lead quietly reprimanding other employee for giving family members corporate discount and not reporting damage done to the vehicle when they accepted the return. Wonder if that's why my van had so much damage unreported. Will not rent from this facility againSteven P.
this manager at this location actually reported this U-Haul as stolen without any fair warning I understand that I overstayed my contract but it was very unprofessional to utilize U-Haul all the time I tried to make a payment to bring the contract current and she refused to take my paymentSHAYNANCY T.
There was only one person working the counter which slowed down picking up considerably. The drop off app is absolutely horrible. I am likely to not use uhaul again after spending 45 trying to make the app work. I would take a picture to show the mileage and condition then a few minutes later the app would tell me the picture is too old. I had problems using it with my iphone and my wife's android.David G.

Systems were shut down and we allowed a customer to use our truck due to her not being able to sign in. Upon returning the vehicle we were told we would not get charged for the late return and extra miles. We ended up getting charged for both and I've now had 3 separate charges to my card from uhaul even after being told it would be no charge for the extra work we had done.Shanice V.
