We were told to drop the truck off since it was a one way rental but when we arrived there was no one there. It was about 4, not outside of service hours. We tried to call not only this location but the help center for uhaul and they were unsure why no one was there. I took pictures of the truck at this location, the key number, and the key slipped into the drop box just incase there was any issue and then a few days later I received a call saying that we were not supposed to that and they would just “figure it out.” I am glad I'm not moving again anytime soon because this uhaul experience was a nightmare because of pick up and drop off, besides the people at Power Zone.

I went in a whole day ahead to reserve a truck at your lumbardy store. When I went to pick it up the next morning that store wasn't open yet so I sat and waited from 7am to 8am before calling to report the issue. I was then told to go to your broad street store and that my rate would be drop down to $19.95. But I was still fine with the change until I got the truck and went to drive off and had to go right back because the truck would pick up speed to make it to the stop light. The rep put me in another truck I had to put gas in this one just to make to my home right away. Then when I received the email about my rental it stated that the truck had to be returned by 7 the same night when I set it up to return it the following morning. So now I'm being rushed and I'm upset. But I got all my heavy things out with the truck and returned it. The next morning I get the invoice showing I was charged 29.95 . So I called and your rep just laughed about it. I normally don't say anything but I was push around to much just to rent a truck. And I would like to get my money that's all. I reserved a uhaul and showed up the lady didn't have one but had my reservation. She was to busy trying to bum a cigarette from us than fixing the issue . She finally sent us to another location. The individuals got us in a uhaul fast. Which was awesome. But the truck was a piece of crap. It drove rough, but we was already late. After having it a couple hours the driver side mirror flew off while we were driving on the interstate at night. We had to buy a mirror from cvs and try and use a hand held mirror to try and see to make it. Never again will I rent from them.

Although the rental truck was in fine shape, the equipment used to check customers in and out was not. iPhones were not charged and ready for use, and the cash register / card reader was broken. This delayed our pickup.

Customer Service was Excellent. Very friendly and Professional. However, short handed staff turned our 1:00 appointment made us wait until 5:30 until they could take our SUV in to install a trailer hitch. We did not leave until 8:30. There was only one person there and he was the one answering phones, waiting on walk-in customers and installing our hitch. I really felt bad for the worker. He did a great job. I think the New General Manager should have stayed and not left him alone; to help him with phones and customers while he was doing jobs. So overall bad experience due to lack of staff. Not lack of Professionalism and kindness of the worker that helped us, I would give him a 5 star rating and a rave review. Gracias.

I had an appointment for 9am on 11/1 at the Henrico location that I made thru corporate on 10/11/21. When I arrived at 9am, I was told they didn't have me on the schedule, and had nobody to install my hitch. I drove over an hour to get there from my home. I thought I'd take a shot and see if the Broad st. location could fit me in. They did, and I was very appreciative. Jimmy was awesome!! The Henrico location I would NEVER use again!! Regards, Steve

You guys helped me in a jam. Budget truck rental screwed me over on a reservation I made weeks ago. I go to their location and they were like "we have no trucks" 20 minutes before my movers arrived. Went down the street and walked in to Uhaul. He had a truck for me and I made it in time for my movers.

The truck was very dirty and nasty smelled like someone had been smoking in the truck right before I got it . I would not recommend a friend to rent a truck at this location.

No customer service! Hitch restricts exhaust! I ordered hitch online, set an installation date over a week in the future, and paid with my credit card. I live over 100 miles away so I called the day prior to confirm the appointment. No hitch - on backorder. After two weeks of calling, I got a call stating they had located a hitch. I thought I had set up an appointment but when I arrived, three employees, doing nothing, could not install my hitch as my appointment was the next day. I had traveled two hours to the appointment and had to get home. I received credit on the labor and took the hitch (manufactured in 2018) home and installed it myself. The exhaust pipe is blocked by the hitch crossbar. I called the hitch pro and was told to drop the exhaust below the crossbar. By dropping the exhaust pipe it leaves the pipe 7 to 8" above the ground. There had to be a better way to resolve the problem. I requested to speak to the manager. I am still waiting for the call. I added an exhaust tip to resolve the problem. It looks like the crossbar could be bent to avoid this problem.

The truck I ordered was not available- apparrantly the battery was dead. No replacement of that size available. It would've been preferable to be notified ahead of time to possibly direct me elsewhere in town. The nxet size up was availabole, but someone had the key off premises. Finally i got the larger size, for same price as i had pre-registered. The staff member did that with apologies and i was able to get on my way with the larger truck.

If I could rate this location with a negative rating, I would. I tried again to go to this location and once again I was disappointed. I truly learned my lesson this time. I will be filing a formal complaint. I was quote one price before them installing my trailer hitch and told another price when I came to pick it up. The GM never returned my call. Instead of them honoring the price they gave me, they offered to uninstall the hitch. I contacted the GM and have yet to receive a call. I will be escalating this.

I had a terrible experience with this U-Haul location. I prepaid for this Hitch to be installed, and then had to almost almost two months, for it to be installed on 9/24/21. I took my car in before 9 am and got a call from installer that he could not install hitch because it was "dinged" by FED-EX in delivery. Said he would go get another one, here, locally, and install, because I needed my car back. He called at 5;30 pm and said he had not been able to leave and pick-up the replacement hitch, so had to keep my car overnight. I told him I did NOT want my car broken into. He said he would lock it up inside. When I went to pick up my car at 1 noon on 9/25/21, Demar wanted me to "pay for it". Told him I had already PREPAID for it. and where is my car. He offered NO RECEIPT and NEVER went over ANY WARRANTY nor HOW to hook-up the lights on trailer. Once I got in my car, my car said, "No phone connection", as my cell phone had been STOLEN, from U-Haul. It was apparent that U-Haul installer had gone through everything in my car and also STOLEN two boxes of mini-blinds. He dumped liquid soap, all over the carpet, in the back of my SUV. I got manager "Isiah" and he did NOTHING to help. He went inside, as I waited for him, but he failed to return. I came home and called U-Haul to report this, and told a 42-minute hold. You hire the LAZIEST, most DISHONEST people, and I will NEVER do business with U-HAUL again. You hire THIEVES. I fully believe that they kept my car, on purpose, in order to go through it and STEAL what they wanted, out of it. They put a very CHEAP-looking hitch on my car. I feel duped by U-HAUL. I expect disciplinary action to be taken on this. I told Isiah that "You people are THIEVES.".
