The man that rented me the truck was confusing about the amount of time I could keep the rental. He told me I had 24 hours. I had the truck for 10 hours when the man called me, and with a rude tone, bullied me and told me I had to have the truck back by 7 AM, an hour and a half earlier than when I was originally told. I called scheduling and none of this was true. I ended up extending my rental time over the phone in the morning with no problem. Moving is already so stressful. Thinking I needed to get the truck back early added to that stress, and he did it for no reason. However I should add, when I returned the truck, the other employees at this location were nice and professional.

The fuel level and vehicle mileage were incorrect when I got in the car, other than that, it was AJ awesome experience!

The cab smelled overwhelmingly like smoke (or smokers). We traveled much of the time for over 1,100 miles with windows down to breathe through the smoke smell. There were several empty water bottles behind the driver seat, and unopen pudding cups ready to burst from the heat. We were only given 12 blankets instead of 24, but the office closed as we drove off. Also, U-Haul folks, those trucks pay themselves, and handsomely...why on heavens do they not have GPS, nor a rear view camera. Phones and radios can only catch tunes in certain areas - cd players may be an old thing, but one on the dashboard would keep people awake!!! A 3 day trip without upbeat music while bouncing around on a noisy, smelly truck makes for a hard journey.

The only employee handled a situation where their fuel line was cut on my reservation truck and cool/collected gave me another truck with no problems. Easy drop off too.

We had to go to this site because they didn't have a truck for us as reserved at the Federal Way location. The agent had made a mistake on booked our truck for the wrong day. When we got to the Sea Tac location, the general manager didn't apologize for the inconvenience caused by the agent's error. Rather, he said "they should have called me" and wasn't very friendly. He got a little better once we agreed to buy the insurance. Maybe he gets a bonus for that??

Replace the manager. Walked in to get my van, told him I had a reservation. He asked for my name and was like oh you just reserved it. Then said “you guys” to which I asked what he meant and he said “you renters”. I felt like I was putting him out by renting a vehicle from a rental location. Completely put me off. I would absolutely tell people to go to a different location. Basically this guy was an ****hole.

To be clear, I would only recommend u-haul to people making in-town trips. If they were to ask about making trips going over 50 miles, I would not recommend u-haul, as the equipment isn't meant for, or good with, long-distance trips.

When I booked the truck I asked if he could transport two passengers with the driver with seatbelts. I was told yes. The middle seat belt was missing a female receptacle. This is in violation of DOT laws, end of state and federal laws. Not having a seatbelt for all passengers is a safety risk and could result in a ticket for the driver if not all passengers have their seatbelt secured while the vehicle is in motion. This truck should have been inspected both before and after every use. A illegal and dangerous truck without working seatbelts SHOULD NOT be on the road until after this critical safety defect has been fixed. This is very bad!

I understand the U-Haul closes at 8 and I arrived at 755 to return a rental truck. The person helping me (David) complained that be would not be getting off of work in time. I don't want to ruin anyone's day, but I really do not want to pay for exorbitant parking fees for a U-Haul truck in Seattle. David was very rude and unpleasant

I wish the employee had walked me to my van and looked inside the van with me. The little debris I found in the back of the van didn't bother me enough to go back and complain about it so I don't. Then I was charged the cleaning fee for it. I have filed a complaint!!

The man working at this SeaTac location when I picked up my rental was super friendly and polite. He made the process really fast and efficient, which I really appreciated. He was also working when I dropped it off and delivered the same service. I was about 15-20 mins late because of a meeting that ran over and he was really cool and easy going about it. I was in a hurry because I was running behind and he was super quick again. I didn't catch his name, but great service! ¡Gracias!

This pickup location was fine. Our challenge is that U-Haul did not have our reserved truck (Reserved for a month ahead) at the location just a couple minutes away from us. This location was 40 minutes drive away from us. The Uber was going to cost us $65 to pick up the truck. U-Haul didn't have an answer and basically said sorry. When we flew in to Seattle the day before the move. We picked up the truck at the airport location early to save the Uber cost. After their screw up, these idiots actually charged us for an extra day. Their reservation system is a joke. We added an additional driver and they moved the reservation name to his last name and we were unable to access any of the online check in or return. When i called they actually said that they couldn't talk to me because the reservation wasn't in my name. The other driver was told the same thing because his password didn't match the reservation. After waiting for hours we did talk to a real person and they were helpful. Pretty annoying to listen to them recommending using the online services when they screwed it up and we wasted hours of moving time sitting on the phone. They even managed to screw up the moving helpers as well. They changed the help date and time for both sides of our move. Never bothered to tell us. Thankfully we noticed the error and called the helpers direct and worked out a compromise. Overall their incompetence is staggering and it isn't the people. Everyone we actually talked to were great. Their systems are horrible. The staff at both pick up and drop off locations were very professional.

When we got to the first location, no dollies had been reserved for us even though I had prepaid for two. We ended up being able to get them from a different location but the guy at the first location by Seatac acted like he couldn't do anything about it initially. I had to hassle him to have him help us get the equipment that we absolutely needed to be able to complete our move. In the end I spent over an hour and a half driving all over town to get those dollies while my husband moved boxes alone so we could return the truck in time. It turned our moving day into something very stressful and I truly wish I had booked through another company. UHAUL is usually my go to but not after this. I'm so disappointed.

My reservation was changed without notifying me the day I was meant to receive my rental. It was frustrating being far from home and not having the vehicle we needed at our scheduled time. I spoke with customer service and made sure everything was prepared for the new time and all was well after that.

Horrible experience. How do you call your customer on the day they are picking up a one way rental two states away to say we don't have your truck. Told me I could go two and a half hours away to pick up my truck. Then charged me more for a ten ft truck. I literally had to leave furniture on the street.

The system was down and I had to wait two hours before the person working could figure out how to get me checked out. Also when the employee finally figured out how to check people out she helped other people first even though I had been waiting longer. I have been charged two times on my debit card as well so my money is tied up till it gets figured out. When I did finally get my truck the back was dirty with packing materials so I had to sweep it out.

This location is busy and only the manager was available. She even admitted she needed to hire more people to every customer in the store at that moment. Then, the manager was going to charge us the first months rent in which I told her we would be getting one month free because that's what it reservation was supposed to include. Customer service even told my husband that this location has a unit available and the first month would be free. She then tells me, "I don't participate in that. Because I'm so small here, I don't participate in that." I went back to the car to tell my husband who was watching our 5 month old who was sleeping. He goes in to talk to her and began to tell her that we were told we would get one month free of storage and that her sign in the front even says one month free rent. The manager says that she has to put that on her sign which is FALSE ADVERTISING! Then the manager finally asked if we had a certificate. My husband grabs the certificate from the car and then the manager says we can get one month free. It is my fault I wasn't prepared with the certificate but also the manager could've asked me and I would've remembered and got it myself. Horrible experience.
