Was not told about the stairs. I thought I would have access to an elevator…..but NO. I am 64 and I could not even attempt the stairs. Online it indicated that you would have an elevator. Well the app wouldn't allow me to check out the vehicle or work properly. I had to go next door and speak with a team member to get my reservation going. He was super helpful and I showed him the app not working while I was with him. Returning the vehicle everything went fine. The storage facility was very clean even thou there are NO trash cans any where … BUT there was a MAJOR ROACH problem in the surrounding areas & you could see them crawling into my unit!! Your cleaning/worker lady was very very nice but unfortunately getting rid of the roaches while I'm leaving is difficult & expensive for US! We had to spray bomb the Uhaul & my trailer & once boxes were in garage & furniture in house we've had to spray bomb the whole house 3 times …. Praying that works!! There needs to be a better means of y'all getting access/fines/evictions to "neighbors" who are storing food items that are attracting ROACHES & creating this problem. It should cost them, not their Goodwill neighbors!! Unfortunately they, once again, are the problem, and the reason for this bad review. Roaches 🪳 paid for dumpster to be unlocked and it wasn’t ever and never was reimbursed at all I was charged for a month rent when I closed the account out and took my lock off I was never contacted at all back about reimbursement for the roaches that came in another’s unit and was so bad they where crawling all over the walls and floor when the tenants open there locker do not use this place u will be upset when u have to throw your stuff away due to poor conditions due to pest that u have no control over at all avoid at all cost seek other arrangementsandre j. | Overall Experience

This is the 2nd weekend in a row we have used the self-serve option at this location. The first weekend-cannot check in on the app to retrieve the van. Go to the office and the office has not been trained on self-serve procedures and they cannot help us or get a rental. Literally, wasted well over an hour and got nothing. This weekend we again were told we had to do the self-serve option-same scenario. The office staff was finally able to help us by calling the other Uhaul down the street and have someone walk her through the renting of the van via her office computer. Once again another hour wasted. Finally get the van and climb in only to find that the miles on our electronic print out rental agreement don't match the odometer (and this matters since you charge 80 cents a mile)-so back to the office we go. We do not fault your office staff at all for these issues. She was friendly and helpful but clearly was not trained on the procedure. But the staff clearly needs more training of what to do when your self-service options do not work. We truly wasted more time both weeks messing around with the rental problems then the amount of time we needed to rent the van.joseph D.

This location is mobile app only. The van that was scheduled to be used, per the contract, was not available. The van that was available had different mileage and fuel level, which made it impossible to check in. The only assistance was to call the 800# and wait extended time, >30-45 minutes and then they had no clue. Thank goodness a human was in the office of whom gave me the key and instructed me to take the van. Multiple attempts were made to reach the posted cell phones of the owner and manager. After 20+ minutes, the owner texted that someone from traffic dept would contact me. Traffic called about 30 minutes later and I was placed on hold another 30 minutes. It was very chaotic, unproductive and a frustrating process. When returning the vehicle, it was pouring rain, once again the mobile app wasn't working and thank goodness the lady that wasn't supposed to be there to check people in or out was there to assist and witness the disaster. My adviceâ€¦rent from a staffed location as this was a horrible experience. I should have believed the reviews online.Christine T.

I booked this storage in Jan 2022 online. The confirmation email said I had to pay in person. I did not live near this facility and called to confirm. Upon arriving in May, I was informed that my unit was not available because I didn't not leave a deposit. I was told I could've left the deposit when I called. Why wasn't I informed of that option? I was stuck renting a larger unit for more money. Finding the unit was not easy and there was no one at the actual location to help. I never received an invoice online, but did receive one after my payment was overdue. When we went to empty the unit, there was a lock on it because it was "unpaid" after my husband settled the bill, the only person working stated he couldn't leave the office to remove the lock. I rented this unit to store my daughters dorm stuff and encountered issues from day 1. I cannot imagine the runaround my daughter would've gotten had she been there alone. The unit itself was clean and had more room then we required but I will be looking into another location/ facility when her semester ends. I have used Uhaul services frequently at other locations with no issues but this one was unpleasant and unprofessional from start to finish.Zoraida N. | Overall Experience

This morning I spoke with the manager of your US1 store in Melbourne, Fl in regards of a pending debit of $137.00 shown on my PNC bank statement. My account had previously been debited by Uhaul in the amount of 212.00, which I understood. After going back and forth for what seemed like forever - with your manager talking over me while I was attempting to speak - he finally told me that the charge would be erased from my account within a 4 day period. That's all I needed to hear, but what I got was about 10 minutes of pedantic, confrontational nonsense from an individual who clearly was more interested in hearing himself talk than actually LISTENING TO THE CUSTOMER. This was the same guy who on Wednesday was doing everything BUT waiting on customers who were lined up 6 deep waiting to pick up their vehicles. This guy is hopelessly miscast working in a customer focused, service business.Paul P.

We specifically paid more for a climate controlled facility because we had valuable items and due to medical issues we knew the storage would be for an extensive period of time. We were finally able to move our things yesterday which is we discovered mold on just about every single surface. And it wasn't just a little mold, some furniture pieces had to be discarded. I used a temperature controlled unit for 1.5 years, always clean, always smelled nice whenever I would visit, never any rodents, they even built a shade awning between units for loading/unloading. Pickup location was confusing, with 2 locations within a mile of each other. Mobile pickup did not work. I had to wait for someone to come from the other location to let me into the locked area where the vehicle was. I had no choice, I was FORCED to use the mobile app and it proved to be horrible horrible horrible! The gal at the front desk should have had the option of checking me in, getting me to the vehicle to use and helping me be on my way. She couldn't help me and frankly she SHOULD have been able to do this, isn't that why I am paying U-Haul? I am the customer and I felt like I was doing ALL of the customer service for myself through this very cumbersome and messy phone app that I had to download on the fly. I had to cycle through many many pages to complete it, including taking pictures of my license and adding a 3rd phone number to move forward. Isn't 2 phone numbers enough? The check-in was just as bad as I was forced to fill out many more pages again, including taking more pictures of all sides of the vehicle, entering the odometer reading and then forced to take a picture of it, and fuel gage to prove it. (You don't believe the number I entered?) Yet again, someone at the front desk should have been doing all of this anyways! And returning the key was impossible as the app told me to use the same code for the key box I used to retrieve the key when I was picking up the vehicle, but I did not have this number any longer! It was given to me through the app when I was picking up the vehicle! I didn't know I needed to memorize this number to return it! So I was forced to return the key to the front desk, where, he told me I should have returned it through the key box. I was not happy about telling him it didn't work. If I need to rent a truck again I will use a service where I will actually receive customer service from someone at the front desk, led out to the vehicle and be handed the key like a regular human being.Seth G.

It would have been a much better experience if it were advertised that UHAUL provides a secure place to leave your car if you need it. I couldn't find that answer anywhere and when I called, I wasn't able to speak to a local agent. The national Uhaul customer service line had no idea and they couldn't pick up a call and ask the local company either. All they could do is send and email and email me back (which they never did get back to me because, I'm assuming nobody responded to their emails. I ended up driving down to ask in person a day ahead because I really needed to know. I actually drove to the 2nd location (about 1/8 mile north of the p/u place I needed to deal with). They told me at that location that there was on site parking; however, they didn't offer to tell me they weren't my location. I found out the next day when I showed up. The two young men at this location (not the one I dealt with were very apathetic and not helpful). The older gentleman at the correct location was great & that's why I give this a good rating - but offering simple important information (like the fact that you can leave your vehicle) is HUGELY helpful when trying to plan something like a UHAUL rental. ¡Gracias!Linda T.

My storage unit rental and experience was fine while I was a paying customer. I always paid on time (Auto Pay) and never had any issues or reason to contact the office. Move out day: I swept out my unit, took my lock with me, went into the office to turn the unit back in and talked to "Mikey". I didn't have a balance as I was always up to date so he printed my move out receipt and I thought I was done & everything is good (I'm like the perfect tenant)... ohhh no, don't assume you will be done after like I did. I have received many calls from "Mikey" after my move out. A few days after I moved out I got a call from him angrily exclaiming that I left the lock on my unit and he couldn't rent it out to someone else. Hmm that seemed odd to me but I couldn't find my lock as I literally just moved and my belongings were in mostly boxes. I drove over there (30 Minutes each way out of the goodness of my heart) to find out there indeed is lock on my old unit. It was not my lock, my key didn't work and I ended up finding my lock at my house a few days later as I expected. I'm guessing either they rented it out to someone else and didn't keep record or someone is squatting. Neither of those issues are mine to take care of, prove to them, or investigate for them. Mikey wasn't done there after that huge mess up. He keeps calling and harassing me. I don't want to assume and be wrong again, but I have a feeling the office folk are bad at maintaining records. I waited for way to long for the staff to tell me that I could go to the other facility to get the keys to our unit. Then when I dropped the truck of I again waited longer then 10 minutes to be told to wait outside I will be right there. It then took another few minutes for the guy to come outside. No long term retention program been there for 10 years. Staff always seems bothered when asking for assistance. Gate changed to card and never noticed and inconvenienced. Then randomly card stoped working. Staff never in office. Finally done and day of moving to another storage that is cheaper the elevator was out on 3/7 and staff offered no assistance and seemed bothered and told me I can always use the stairs. When I went back midday the staff said they can't reach anyone so won't be fixed today. Also I paid for help to move that and was unable to move that day. I was promised a 7.5×10×10 only unit be offered was smaller than a tiny bathroom. I had a full 26ft truck to get as much in as possible into a unit. So after an hour wait in phone twice actually trying to get in touch with the uhaul who made thre reservation for us they found one in another city. It was a 10×10 which was perfect. The wait unfortunately was over an hour. With that said I lost over 4 hours dealing with that. I wasted 30 miles on the truck rental which cost new another 30 dollars when I returned it today. Then the manager at the returning store wad rude and very agitated. She should not be worrying with any customers directly she was very rude and non professional. That's another issue I will be contacting the President if Uhaul about her and thre entire worst experience I have ever had with Uhual. I rent trucks locally to pick up donations and distribute to families in need and all on my expense to help others. Lori was simply amazing. Extremely helpful in getting our unit selected, then amazing when we knew we were going to miss office hour by 90 min during our drive to Fla. Mickey was kind and quick on our check out. The General manage, Tony is terrible. My invoice came in the name of the additional driver( I need to be on my name) they said after the contract is closed there was no way to modify it. The only good experience I had was with the customer service; good girl from Arizona, very helpful. That being sad, I will not rent from you guys anymore and do not recommend.DOROTHY C.

I had to change my unit multiple times even up to the move in day. I ran into the office and the gentleman got me into a bigger unit within a few minutes, added my lock to my first bill and I was on my way. It was so easy to get what I needed. My family has used U_HAUL for several years and never had any issues. This time, upon closing our storage Unit, that was NOT the case. No receipt of closure was provided to our student, we had to call and ask for an emailed receipt. When calling, was placed on hold for 20 minutes and had to call back to get service. When we finally reached someone that would help us, then we found out, we had not been informed of non-prorated early closure. When booking my reservation online due to COVID-19 there were multiple problems with not only my contract for the day but the people waiting in line before me and the people waiting in line after me. My one way out of town rental was somehow scheduled as an in town rental, same issue with the people in line before me. I was charged an insane amount to correct uHauls mistake. The space that I had reserved for rental ended up being too small which they did swap out for another unit with no problems. I laid a pair of $200 Oakleys on the counter while doing my paper work, and somehow my sunglasses that I've worn everyday for 5 years and never misplaced decided to come up missing. This is Florida, you don't just lose your sunglasses. They are a necessity. Due to the lack of customer service skills from not only my renting office in Fort Lauderdale and given my experience that I had reaching my storage facility and having to return the truck I will be doing a charge back on my credit card. If I had known I was going to be charged almost $800 to move 150 miles I would have used my own truck. Due to "coronavirus" and "social distances" I didn't have a normal "talk to a person about my actual needs" issue. This experience has made me rethink using Uhaul for any future moving or storage needs.LEE B. | First Impressions

It was 95 degrees out and the first unit C198 had no number on it. Come to find out 10 minutes later it was out of order. Had to go back to office to find a ground unit. There was no ground unit or the size I wanted so had to get a second floor unit plus bigger then I wanted. 2 hours later I on second floor with bigger unit and paying more money. I whole trip with u-haul was messed up. From the hitch being put on to getting the trailer to the storage unit. The only good was the drop off of the trailer.Connie D. | First Impressions

I am extremely upset. I ordered a 10x30x10 climate controlled unit verified by email to arrive to find out that unit was not climate controlled and the only other available unit was 10x20x10 so I had to purchase an additional unit which is now going to cost me over a hundred extra dollars a month for 10-months While I wait for my home to be built. I don't have this extra money to be putting out and am extremely disappointed and will have to find some other arrangements at some point to store at least one units worth of stuffmitzi c. | First Impressions
