Dropped off trailer on time and was supposed to get an email confirmation and didn't, they called and said I didn't drop it off. When I called to find out where to deliver my one-way rental I was told the E. Sprague location in Spokane, Wa. Unfortunately there are THREE E. Sprague locations and I had to go to ALL three before landing on the correct one. You'd think a "big" operation like U-haul could direct me to a precise location the first time!TODD W.

The first trailer (4x8) got hooked up and the running lights did not work. The Attendant got a light tester and determined it was the trailer malfunctioning, not my vehicle. The only other available trailer (4x8) had a padlock attached that the previous customer left on during an after-hours dropoff. This location didn't even have bolt cutters on site to remove the lock!!! So I waited while the Attendant arranged for me to go to an alternate location. When he had no luck with the "UHaul" line, he called his regional Supervisor. The Supervisor quickly found a trailer at a location about 5 miles away and transferred my reservation. The first trailer I hooked up to at the next location also had faulty lights. Finally, the next trailer I tried was completely operational. My problem is not with the UHaul Attendants, it is with the horrible maintenance of their trailers. Beyond the faulty lighting, all trailers had rusty door hinges, rusty padlock hasps, rusty rims, and rusty lug nuts. Rusty lug nuts usually indicate a loose rim or elongated bolt holes on the rim. So folks, be careful, and do a thorough check of the lighting and tires/rims/lug nuts... because UHaul sure isn't!!!David B.

I did not understand my final bill at all. It was $76 with a $19 rental 3 miles under my estimate, I calculated it all with the rental I paid the insurance was under mileage and a $19 rental turned into $76 RO probably never rent from u-haul againjohn M.

Please consider a means to compensate/reimburse charges when applicable. I had spoken to an agent to book our truck and trailer (as I'm slightly apprehensive to do "on line scheduling"). When I arrived at the pick up sight, they did not have either of the units I'd reserved. The owner was extremely helpful and courteous and I was patient and understanding... BUT... I needed both the units. It's Saturday morning. Not likely it was going to work out. But it did. I only had to add 16 miles round trip to my order, which of course I was charged for the mileage. My ask is, in these situations, it would be good business to NOT add the additional charges to the customer or provide a reimbursement. I was informed I could not get that reimbursement. So going forward, just a suggestion to at least not add additional costs that were not caused by the customer. Gracias.Franklin U.

The lack of communication was very frustrating. Due to a minor snow fall they kept backing up the delivery. Finally it was delayed a day and they still could not tell us when it would be delivered. I was told a supervisor would call me twice and it didn't happen either time! Will think long and hard if I ever have to use Uhaul again.Robert G.
This location needs to be shut down! I scheduled a truck pick up over the phone and when I got there no one was working in the building I had to unlock the truck virtually which is a pain only to find out that someone stole all the gas and the battery out of the truck I rented. The storage manager Matthew was a very rude individual who told us he would come help us unlock my storage unit within a 15 minute time frame And he showed up 45 minutes later. This location changed my lock on my storage so that my own key wouldn't work so that's why I had to wait for him to show up. Overall because this location is under managed you guys delayed my moving trip by three hours. This is the worst service I've ever had with U-Haul.michelle m. | Overall Experience
The delivery team for this location is great and the manager, Spencer, was super helpful in getting issues resolved! However, national scheduling is AWFUL. First, for our move-out, I completed a quote at a first price and checked out but the base price jumped 150% (I'm talking about just base price per box, I know there are a lot of different fees and taxes). Then, even though the contract showed the correct dates, I didn't get a call from local scheduling on the day I was supposed to get a call because apparently the schedule had been changed by the national organization without notifying us. If I hadn't caught that mistake we wouldn't have gotten our U-boxes in time and the U-boxes would have still been there when the next owners were supposed to take possession. Then, when we moved in, I called to set up delivery of our full U-boxes and pick-up of the empty boxes. They confirmed the dates over the phone, but then, again, the schedule that was entered into the system was three days after the day I had scheduled to have the boxes picked up and I wasn't notified of this change. Local U-Haul people are GREAT! Super helpful, super responsive, very customer focused, pleasant to deal wit, but I would NOT use or recommend U-Haul because of how terrible the communication is between national U-Haul and the local people.Yanek K.

The only complaint and it's a big one. If you have paid for the month and move out before the following month, other storage facilities give you the pro rated rate back, you don't pay for the full month if you move out. This storage facility does not offer that. You move out, no pro rated money back. That's my only complaint. I think it's not a very good way to do business.Amy B. | Overall Experience

Our experience with U-Haul was an absolute nightmare. We arrived in the morning to pickup our truck, but when ready to drive off it didn't start. The employees realized that the catalytic converter had been stolen from it overnight, and after the other trucks on site were checked, it was the same problem with them. The two women employees stated that often happens due to being in a bad area. I asked them if they knew this was a ongoing problem then why didn't they check the vehicles in the morning to make sure they were in working condition when customers were coming to rent a truck. Before they knew the catalytic converter was stolen off the truck, they had already charged me for the rental, but then reversed the charges. They gave us an address for another U-Haul store to pickup another truck, but now that the charges had already been taken out of my bank account, and the charges take approximately 3 days to go back into my account, I now didn't have enough money left in my account to rent another truck. That left me with the problem of having to find someone to borrow the money from which was somewhat humiliating and hard to do. It took awhile for the employees at the U-Haul store to find us another vehicle and gave us the choice to drive to Post Falls, Idaho, or in north Spokane, which we chose because it was closer and we already had people at our apartment waiting to help load the truck. When we arrived home with the truck we noticed that it wasn't clean inside but by that time we had no choice but to clean it ourselves before loading it. After spending hours loading the rental truck, we still had to return to the main store to pick up a rental trailer, but after being delayed so long, we had to wait until the next day to get it. When my husband returned to the main store the next day to get the trailer, the worker there asked him to turn on the windshield wipers because he was going to spray down the window to clean it. My husband turned on the wipers but discovered they weren't working. so he drove the truck and trailer home at the advise of U-Haul, and U-Haul then contacted roadside assistance to come to our location to fix the wipers. The worker spent most of that day working on the wipers but still wasn't able to get them to work. We already had hotel reservations in Boise, Idaho to spend the night there but being we were still stuck in Spokane awaiting for the wipers to get fixed, we were forced to spend $266.49 on a hotel room, but were still charged $97.63 for the Boise hotel room that we were were unable to cancel due to the late notice.. The next morning roadside assistance sent out another worker to check on the wipers, but after 3 or 4 hours, we were advised that the truck needed to be driven to a shop approximately 20 miles away so they could work on it there. With each delay, we kept being told that it would be fixed in about an hour or so. After driving the truck and our own vehicle down to their shop, we waited approximately 4-5 hours while they worked on the wipers. Finally we were told the wipers were fixed and we were able to head out of town. It was already 6:00-6:30 before we left Spokane and starting to get dark, so we were only able to drive for approximately 3 hours and find a place to spend the night. This whole process of having to delay our trip caused us to have to drive the next day for over 8 hours so we wouldn't miss our next reservation in Salt Lake City, Utah. The stress of having to drive under pressure of making our deadline to each city caused us all much stress and it wasn't the fun trip we had planned for. When we first rented the truck the person at the rental company, said the truck had a bad exhaust leak, plus my husband said that the truck was not getting very good gas millage. And when we returned the truck to the U-Haul company, the worker there started it up and commented that "this truck needed to be fixed and that they couldn't rent in out in that condition". Yet we were given that truck to drive from Spokane, WA to Las Vegas, NV. I'm just glad we all made it safely to our destination. I will NEVER do anymore business with U-Haul, as this fun trip that we had planned for a long time, turned into a nightmare with all the waiting we had to do and all the delays. And I expect to get compensated for the extra money we had to spend on hotels and other costs we hadn't planned on.JUDITH B.

WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER! When scheduling, I contacted them beforehand and was told "I don't think we install hitches on Saturdays, but I don't really know" even though the site clearly states they do. So I had reserved a time on Saturday and planned my schedule accordingly. The day before, I was called and told that I was booked over by someone at the shop and therefore would have to adjust my schedule accordingly, which was terribly unprofessional. I arrived and asked for an ETA of completion, they told me 2.5 hours was the normal amount of time and if it was going to go over, they would let me know. 4 HOURS LATER, I was called and told my vehicle was ready 1.5 HOURS OVER THEIR INITIAL ESTIMATE! To make matters worse, when I had gotten to my next destination 1.5 hours away to receive my trailer closer to home, I had come to find out that they had not put my the "MOUNT,BALL,8.62LX2"dROP 5000LB, PIN&CLIP ASSY.2'RECV, BALL,2X1X2-3/16'7500LB" products that I paid over $30.00 for and on top of all of that, MY WIRING WAS DONE INCORRECTLY! Both wires had been set to my right blinker, therefore my left blinker on any trailer I wanted to attach the wiring to was unsafe to operate. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THEM!!!Stacie K.

The General Manager, Nicole, was very rude when I explained my experience was not one I expected to have with them. She talked badly of me on Skype with a friend/customer and employee. She started to refund the month rental I was not supposed to be charged but when I tried to discuss the experience I had she pushed my receipt to the side and said she had other things to do and would get to me last. After my boxes left that store things were more pleasant and people were understanding and communication was better. I say use the other store down the road since moving is already stressful enough to be treated rudely makes it worse.TINA S.

The staff were very nice. We gave our zip code like four times and it was still inputted incorrectly. We were given a number to call to change the drop off. At first that number did not work but finally we were able to connect with a u haul person to move the drop off from 100 miles away to just a 1/2 mile. I was skeptical at first but, all worked out!
