Overall, my experience was good, but not excellent. The Bad: None of the supplies I had ordered in my reservation were waiting in the back of the truck, and the pick-up location was a storage location only and did not have an office for me to dispute/get the needed supplies. Instead, I forewent driving to another location to dispute/get the needed supplies (plus I'd have to put more miles on the uHaul truck) and went on with my moving task as time was of the essence. I was still charged for the supplies I had originally ordered. Thankfully I had brought some of my own moving supplies and it was just enough to get the job done. Upon starting out with the truck, I immediately noticed the steering felt looseâ€"not reassuring with such a large truck/weight. The mobile-check-in process required me to re-enter information I had previously entered days before, such as my driver license info, which when short on time on moving day is not what I wanted to do. The Good: I was impressed that I could rent a truck using just my phone and following their screen prompts. Overall, the mobile-check-in/return process was pretty good. Side Note: There may have been a virtual slider bar on phone check-in screen for how much fuel was currently in the tank before I started. I don't remember what it read on the phone, but I didn't realize I could drag my finger to adjust where the fuel level actually was. The truck had 5/16 of a tank left before I started out (not enough to get where I needed), so I had to put fuel into the truck myself. I ended up using just enough to where it was back to 5/16 of a tank when I returned, but was still charged $12 from uHaul for gas. However, that may have been my error when not understanding I could adjust the virtual fuel level on my phone, thus it may have looked like I left less fuel in the truck than before I started, but actually left the same amount. I do have pictures of fuel level before and after if uHaul is interested in looking into it for me. P.S. uHaul, I kindly suggest y'all fill up your trucks' fuel level to full so when the customer starts out they don't have to think about filling it up themselves. It would also make for less fuel level error when picking up and returning a truck for both uHaul and the customer, plus could mean a lower likelihood of damage to truck when a customer pulls a large truck into a gas station (I've seen it happen). This is one of the few 24/7 storage facilities in the area. Definitely convenient and easy to access. It's rarely backed up, at most there's only up to 3 other clients present at the busiest times I've been there. The cameras all around the facility makes it feel safe. Rented a 26' from this location and it was a newer truck. Drove nice and everything worked well. This truck cab and cargo area was not cleaned from the person before me. I was charged a cleaning fee for a mess I didn't create. I knew I should have rescheduled to another location once I realized this was a contactless pick up location. The process is annoying but it works. The real frustrating part was trying to return the truck. After it snowing almost a foot the parking lot was snowed in and that truck would've got beached if I went in the driveway. So I thought we'll you're supposed to be able to drive a uhaul cross country and drop it off wherever? I'll go around to another store. Nope. Couldn't drop it off there either. Now it's 2pm and the lot isn't plowed. I have to drive all the way back home and just kill some time and try again I guess. Called customer support and the gentleman offered to take off $10 from my bill after I had to drive an extra 30 miles that they charge me $1.29 forâ€¦because the lot wasn't plowed and they wouldn't take the truck back at another location. When I finally was able to drop off the truck I go to check out and they didn't comp me anything. Guess I'll try a Penske truck next time.Alex M.

1. The uhaul android app is unusable. It consistently ran slow, even with a 5g connection, and crashed multiple times, requiring me to re-input information. The license scanning step doesn't recognize temporary license paperwork, requiring me to contact a representative to properly upload my information. There was a 'backend communication error' on the upload picture of odometer; when I restarted the app to correct the issue, it marked my check-in as complete, requiring me to contact customer service *again* to upload the photos. 2. The lock on the key drop box was heavily corroded. The dials didn't spin, and the action to open the locking mechanism wasn't working. I had to use a multi-tool to help open it. 3. The drop-off portion of the online experience is broken on both chrome and firefox. On firefox there is no option to upload photographs whatsoever, making it impossible to complete the form. On Chrome, whenever there's a requirement to upload a photo, the webpage will refresh if you spend longer than ~15 seconds on the camera app. This clears all data, including previously uploaded photos.Joshua B.

I had reserved a 20 ft truck but was unable to unlock the combination to retrieve the key. It was a cold day and I was outside for 20 minutes before reaching customer support. Customer service offered a van replacement. Due to time constraint and cold weather I hesitatingly accepted. I am dissatisfied because I've had to make a couple trips to move items that a 20 ft truck could have completed once. The combination code should be checked regularly in cold months.Kosol S.

The truck was no dirty, but it was not clean either. There was food in the door cup holder and the steering wheel felt dirty. Dusty as well but otherwise not too bad. My unit was broken into no one told me they had to put another lock on it and I could not get into for a week and when I could it was jammed. Insurance did not pay for my items because they were told it was locked open which it was not. It was pulled open thats why it was jammed when I tried to open it. I will never in my entire life recommend or use that location. That was the worst experience I had had in my entire life. Like the self service protocol and procedures are all messed up. From the taking of my ID card to returning the vehicle is all not user friendly. In programming, there is something called interactive design. Your need to look into that. I spent a hour trying to just put in a 4 digit code on the lock. The lock is old that even after putting the code, you have to yank it before it can open. And guessed what, they don't tell you. You became to feel so dump and call. Then they will tell you like once you enter the code, you hand to yank it before it can openâ€¦ this is fustrating.MARCUS B.

Especially when discovering the key for the vehicle wasn't in the box, and trying to get a hold of someone for assistance wasn't quick, or easy, and I don't think I would try this service again. Although staff was friendly and facility was clean and well maintained I was not pleased with receiving a uhaul without an attached ramp. Also I had to return to the uhaul location an additional two times because during first visit I was not given my storage number, access card or lock. Plus reserving the truck and storage online was a bit confusing, it showed the storage I selected 5x5 as big enough for a 2 bedroom apartment for 39.95 but once i was at the facilty I had to upgrade to a 10x10 for 129.00 a month. There was also an issue with having the correct insurance amount aplied when reserved online and the manager had to correct it. Overall, the experience was good. However, I ran into an issue. When renting my uhaul in Chippewa Falls, WI the rent also booked a storage unit for me as I was looking for one in the Brooklyn Park,MN area. But when I got to MN the reps there couldn't see the unit booked for me. So, they decide to book a unit for me since they couldn't find my reservation. My truck wasn't entered in the system. They had to come over to the 24 drop site to find which drop box my key was in so I could get my truck. Possible transmission issue: couldn't disengage the towing button on the shifter when truck was empty aand seemed to take a longer time to shift out of 3rd gear while accelelerating than normal.ROBERT B.
I would choose the second location in Crystal on HWY 81 where there is an service center that can help with any issues with a mobile check out. The keys for the vehicle were not placed in the right box and customer service via phone or mobile options are horrible since nobody answers when you have urgent issue with check out. I ended up having to drive to second location to find a manager to support my check out and key release. The manager was patient and extremely helpful.Karl B.

It was wonderful to be able to go into my storage unit no matter what the weather and unload in the garage and reload my vehicle whenever I needed things. All of the staff was friendly and I had a wonderful wonderful experience throughout the whole year that I stored my stuff there. I Had a bad experience in both pickup and drop off. That app doesnt identify the location hence it diffcult for the customers to follow the process. it hangs many times. some how successfull after 45 mins for pickup. but for the drop off app was not at all responsive didnt identify the location again so after a bunch of trial again spending an hour, ended up droppping the keys in drop box. I wouldn't recommand pick up this location and drop off as it was quite difficult for the customer to follow the app which is not built right. it is the most worst thing ever i had seen.Vikram P.

We had a great experience thanks to Darrel whom helped us checked in. As a first time storage renters and in a new state, he took the fear out of us and brought us at ease. The parking outside of the storage looks worn down and unkept, but the facility looks brand new. I like its double security and garages that I could drive inside to unload safely. The complimentary flat beds provided for hauling items to and from my storage unit and the spacious, smooth elevator for traveling between floors are a plus. Employees were great however my location was turned on for my phone but it still wouldn't work. Good thing there was somebody working otherwise I literally wouldn't have been able to do anything, or would've had to sit on hold for 15 minutes while people were waiting for me to grab my key. The actual storage was great, but customer service was terrible. I was never told how I would pay when I purchased the storage. The very first month I got an email that it was due 4/26/21 tried to pay a couple days before and it wouldn't allow me to then charged a late fee of 15.00. I called customer service and they explained you can't pay early but if you set up direct billing from an acct then the 15.00 would be refunded. I set it up and no refund. I called customer service again and they said they couldn't refund only mgr at the location could. I called the mgr at the location at least 5 times and left voicemails and never got a call back or refund. It took 3 hours and travel to 3 different locations to initially rent the truck, and 1.5 hours to return it, which never was successfully completed using the u-haul app. The app did not work properly upon returning the truck - I could not take and upload photos - and I spent 15 minutes o hold trying to talk to a live representative, before being asked to leave a message by a 3rd party answering service. I will not be using this app or any u-haul location that requires it. If I can not locate a u-haul location that does not provide staffed assistance, I will not be using u-haul in the future, and I have at least 2 more moves scheduled Within 4 weeks and again in 2 years.Dougles H.

The storage space is smaller than I thought. I had a 2 bedroom apartment and reading the measurements for the storage space I thought I would have enough room. I unfortunately had to leave items behind because there isn't enough room.Christina F. | First Impressions

You can make it clear, upon confirming the rental online, that it is necessary to download the app and that it will be needed to rent the vehicle. Maybe send an email with the instructional video of how to rent at a location that doesn't have an attendant. It was a shitty thing to have to figure out while standing in an empty unattended parking lot, wishing that I was already in the vehicle on my way to my destination. A big sign at the door, telling people that the confirmation email that they received is useless because they are going to have to go through half of the rental process all over again, in the app, before they can get the keys to the vehicle, would be nice. I left that parking lot after half an hour of frustration and confusion and two conversations with two remote customer service attendants. The website was also useless in giving me the information that I needed. It kept confirming that my rental was ready with no indication that I needed to do anything else to complete the process. Now that I know, I don't suspect I'll have a problem in the future, but my experience was very stressful because I didn't give myself enough time to deal with the mystery that the situation dragged me through.Jason T.
Terrible. Intercom is timed so when I could get a hold of customer service, the intercom hung up on them. General manager never called me back, even though he was listed as the after hours number to call. Customer service took 40 minutes to get a hold of after being placed on hold. Checking out a vehicle is unnecessarily complex. Never using uHaul again nor would I recommend it to anyone.Oscar H.
We didn't get the vehicle we were guaranteed and had to settle for a cargo van which meant many trips and we ended up putting way more miles on than we would have with a larger truck. Also didn't get the blankets we requested and had to go to a different location to pick up van. I am not sure this is the fAULT OF THE DEALER OR THE RESERVATIONISTDianne B.
