In addition, the main door plus the door to the building after you entered the drive-in would open sometimes without needing a card. Basically anyone could get in the building.

DERREANCO A | Overall ExperienceThere was a pole in our storage unit, so it was not the advertised size. I paid for 10'x10'...it was smaller than that AND had a pole taking up space. No employees available, ever, for any assistance for anything. The entire facility was automated. The call buttons on the keypads just rang and rang, there was no one available to help. U-Haul Corporate decided to leave the outside building doors unlocked a few weeks into our rental. This negated any security the building had. Random alarms going off for no reason, constantly. Maybe this was caused by the unlocked doors?? Unsure? The alarm would go off, then obviously be shut off remotely, no one ever came to check it out.

I personally saw people staying in/living in the facility. The facility was often dirty and littered with trash. I left completely disappointed and unsatisfied.

Then On the 19th we already had moved all of our stuff out of the unit and told them that we no longer need it and they are still trying to charge me for that too.

Cassandra C | Overall ExperienceWe needed a storage unit for temporary storage while moving. U-Haul had, by far, the best price and was recommended by a few friends. I LOVED that the only hidden fee that U-Haul adds at the end of the booking process is the insurance! I'd tried 2 other companies and everyone else hits you with as many frivolous fees as they could on the payment page (admin fees, locks, site fees, etc.). One company almost tripled the cost at the last step of booking! U-Haul did not do this! They were up-front with all costs, except the insurance (which had explanation at least). :) Initial check-in was very confusing. There were no employees on site and no one answered when we pressed the Call button. However, it was a Sunday. For some reason they have 2 separate keypads for alarm and opening the door to the storage area. There are Step 1 and Step 2 signs, but no explanation, it was not obvious what to do. We eventually figured it out. The facility was beyond clean, wow! There were carts available and all the doors, even the door to our unit, were well oiled. The facility layout is even set up well. Our unit is pretty far from the door, but the aisles are arranged in a way that you can get to it quickly. One complaint we have...there is a big support pole in our storage unit! This was not disclosed anywhere in the rental documents. Unless this is the "*bonus space" in the listing??? (how is a pole that takes up space "bonus"?) We can make it work, but our unit is not usable for the larger items (furniture) we were hoping to store there; we'll make other arrangements for those and just store boxes/totes in the unit. It would be nice if U-Haul discounted units that have reduced space due to things like support poles?? :) Another tech-related complaint. The U-Haul app doesn't work...all communications say to use it to manage your rental. However, the app doesn't show Storage rental information at all. Why are customers told to use it? Not a big deal, we'll just manage our account on the website.

Made at least 8 calls to try to resolve that I had moved out of the facility prior to new billing cycle and that my keys and pass card had been handed to an employee in the office 5 days later. My keys were "lost" and no notes put in system. 4 times I was promised a call back that never came. Very disappointing from a company I have been loyal to with all my moves; every past experience was 5 star but I cannot tolerate poor customer service.

I arrived around 9:40 to store my belongings, followed the instructions to gain access, started unloading only to find myself locked out of the storage facility. I attempted to call the GM with no success. I even sent a txt message as was suggested by the GM, to date I still have not received either a return call or a txt. I also called customer service as well as the alarm company. Neither were helpful. I would like to say that the ladies from customer support, although not helpful, were extremely professional and calming during such a chaotic event. I still have to figure out how to get my stuff from the other unit as it was locked by someone.

We had rented a U-haul and it needed to be returned or we would be charged. It took several hours to get the matter resolved, and to locate another unit. I contacted the manager 3 times to transfer ownership to the new unit. I communicated by phone, text, and email. The unit was never transferred, and every time I went to my unit, the alarm went off. Very frustrating and none professional.

The place was clean staff friendly but the assignment of space, was the issue. We unloaded to move to that space only for it to have been rented to someone else and then given something in another section not where wanted to be.

I then went back into the storage facility only to find out that the locker i rented was already in use and locked. Very inconvenient and stressful day and this facility just made it harder
