I was returning a rental truck. I waited in the truck for someone to check me in, as indicated on the sign. I sat there for several minutes and decided that I would go inside since it was freezing cold outside. The employee inside the store told me to go wait outside, and I declined. She even came over and opened the door. I told her I would wait inside in the heat, and insisted my fiancÃ© do the same. I wasn't acting impatient, just wanted the warmth after a long day of moving. So I have rented frequently at this location, I was a bit upset upon returning the truck, on my check out document when i PU the truck, stated gas full, it appeared the gas was full on the dash, I drove a total of 24 miles but when I topped it off the gas it took 5 gallons. I mentioned this to the attendant, and he was very much snarky and indifferent blaming me for not checking or taking pictures, quite frankly, he was rude and a bit demeaning. I tried to show him the receipt, nope, didn't want to have anything to do with it. I suggested then there must be something wrong because I got 4 miles to the gallon and didn't have a lot in the truck. Not a good experience, I believe the gage is broken. Ashley was wonderful to work with and provided excellent customer service. I would recommend this store to everyone I know. I will be renting again soon. It would be nice if you renter stools for us older people didn't have such a hard time getting into the trucks. I experienced that in Texas too so perhaps it has something to do with insurance. The app and link texted to me wouldn't work. So, I went to the counter and did the paper version. I was told to do my own walk around then pull up front and the employee would come out and sign me off. I pulled in front and clear view of the counter inside. 3 employees walked back and forth, talking to one another. 10 min later I went in to get someone and one person said â€œI'm so sorry, I just got off the phone.â€ She wasn't on the phone, I could see them the whole time. They had to transfer my reservation to this location due to the first location not having what I needed and nobody updated my drop off location. the girl who called me from this location was extremely rude and made me cry. I called the day prior due to communicate their mistake and she wouldn't let me finish a sentence to even tell her that. Extremely poor customer service. There are many ways to get things done and it is not to be a bully and make people feel bad without hearing what happened. She should not be in customer service. I get the situation may have been frustrating but I did everything I could on my end to communicate everything to you guys. You just really don't know what people are going through in their daily life that added stress when it's literally your job you get paid to do is so unnecessary. Just be nice and kind. First truck I got had check engine light on and low tire warning. Second truck had low tire warning. When I returned truck to location I indicated on my reservation they said the system said it was the wrong dropoff location and it had a charge of 292.00 due to â€œwrong dropoff locationâ€. They did straighten it out eventually but all told I chewed up over 30 minutes dealing with all of these accumulated complications. Additionally when I tried to adjust the fuel level and mileage on the online inspection for the second truck it wouldn't let me.Shane C.

Online reservation is disfunctional. I was timed out several times during the process and was unable to self checkin. In the end the associate had to create completely new reservation and delete the ones I tried to process online. This disfunctionality of the online reservation can be a great turnoff for many people.Sergey K.

the best thing u haul could do to improve is go back to having the fuel tanks full or over half full when a truck is returned the truck I got I was told had a 1/4 of a tank and I had only gone about 15 miles when the low fuel light and 50 mile warning light came on. When I left on a Friday evening around 5:30-5:45 two techs performed equipment check on my 5x8 trailer. They said the running lights weren't working. I had been renting with my CX5 from there once a week for the last few weeks with no issues. They checked my lights, blinkers and breaks worked but no running lights. They got two different cords to try to fix it but it still didn't work. It was getting closed to sundown and they said that I could just go, as long as I don't drive at night. I am not familiar with trailers, I had no idea how serious this was and dangerous. I couldn't avoid driving at night, it was dark by the time I got home. Taillights also did not work. Representatives at U-Haul when I returned the trailer we're rude and unapologetic however stated that they should not have let me leave with the trailer at that time.Mary G.

The drop off process after hours is convenient but confusing and somewhat complicated for new users. I think the process should be explained or gone over by an associate when picking up, if picking up during business hours. Like in my case, I locked the padlock on the rear of the truck not knowing I was going to be asked to take and submit a pic of the interior of the back. With no key to unlock the padlock I just hope I'm not charged any extra for the mistake; it was already almost $90 for the 2.5 hours I had the truck.Kristina A.

I was rented unit 025. I wasn't told there would be continuous dirt falling from the ceiling crevices all over my belongings. First noticed this about 1/2 year in. Was suggested that I could relocate to another unit, but at my own expense of a rental truck and manpower. So all I took them up on was a plastic cover for my Ikea mattress, which was already soiled by the dirt falling. Also there was one spot on it indicating something wet dripping from the ceiling, onto something else, before landing on the Ikea mattress. When moving everything out, there was evidence of a moisture issue toward the back of the unit, on boxes in that area. And I brought a hand broom in hopes of brushing off all the dirt from the boxes & bins. That proved to be too time-consuming to continue throughout the move, if we wanted to complete it in a timely manner, so as I organize all of it in it's new location, I'll have to wipe down the bins & box tops. Moved from Southern California with a fully loaded 26 footer. Was not sure if the size unit I chose was going to work - it didn't. It was obvious that I was going to need a bigger space. They were able to shift me to a larger space with no problem. Plus once I get settled and have time to go through what is in my storage and eliminating excess, I can downsize with no issues should I decide to do so. The facility is great as well as the customer service there.. I am just not happy on how you make a reservation on line for a unit expecting to get that one when you get there with that price and you get something completely different for more money. The gal that checked me in stated they didn't have that one available. So why did I reserve it in the 1st place ? It was significantly more expensive than the one I reserved. This is the reason I only kept it for a couple months before moving my stuff out. I must say, I honestly feel so very satisfied with the experience I had at this facility. The people working were friendly, helpful, but I was very impressed while standing in line with 10 people in front of me, the manager Brittany was keeping things moving smoothly by controlling everything and everyone with knowledge of what was happening, and all the while, smiling! And it was so good with all the waiting customers, if you were not wearing a mask, she stated it was needed, and of course if you didn't have one, she offered one. UHaul was excellent to work with. No trucks were available when I went to rent one out but I was added to a call list to be called if a truck became available in the local area. I received a call within an hour and was able to rent a truck immediately. I only learned about the storage option at that time and that was such a convenience because we needed storage for the itmes that I was renting the truck to pick up. U-Haul is a broken system and takes advantage of customers by not fixing a broken computer system that is down as much as it is up. They charge fees because their computers systems fail thus they feel they are entitled to keep them. So far I have not been very impressed by this company. I made a reservation for a storage unit almost a month in advance. On moving day when I went in to get my unit number they had no reservation on file and then told me that they were fully booked. After some searching they ended up finding me a unit but it was very stressful having a 20ft Uhaul in the parking lot and wondering if I have a unit to store my belongings in. Then a few days after I moved everything in they called because apparently there is a bolt missing from the lock mechanism of my unit so now I have to make time to go back down there so they can repair that. I made an appointment but then received a call to see if it can be done sooner but any time I call the facility I am on hold for a long period of time. Hugh was very patient and professional. I definitely appreciate his demeanor considering my stressed out and completely exhausted mental state. Moving from state to state is hard work. I was short on sleep and short on patience which isn't normal for me so my capacity to think clearly wasn't real great. Fortunately Hugh was in charge so things went as smoothly as they could have. The only thing worse than having to conduct business in my current condition was hearing that when I walked out of the U-Haul facility to get fresh air, my step son said Missy said, I was a sore thumb. My frustrations were valid and although I expressed them, I don't believe I was abusive or blaming to anyone in the process. Missy would do well learning to keep her personal opinion to herself and focus on customer satisfaction. I've always used U-Haul for moving and have never had a horrible experience; and, even though the truck got a flat tire and my storage wasn't secured online like I had thought, the worst part was hearing I was insulted behind my back but in front of one of my children. With that being mentioned I just want to note, "Thank you for your tolerance Hugh! I can totally see why they leave you in charge" and "F#€k off Missy! After renting storage facility for over 10 years. I was sadden to see that when I went to empty my storage room, my key no longer opened my lock. when i had the locked drilled, which I paid $50 to have done, when I opened the storage door my space had been ransacked, my Texaco collectibles where stolen, my grandsons electric train set had been stolen. This was heartbroken, that I had paid every month for my items to securely stored. They have cameras all over the facility which leads me to believe that this was your personnel that broke into my storage unit and stole my items, and replaced the lock, hoping that no one would find out. I will let everyone know on social media to BEWARE and not use your storage or any uhaul storage facility.DONNA R. | Overall Experience

The UHaul facility was slammed when I got there. I had to wait in line for about 20 minutes, but the part that really impressed me was the attitude and kindness of each one of the employees as they worked with many types of customers under high stress.
