Reservation: I had to physically drive to the Benner Pike location to make the reservation after trying to place a reservation over the phone. This location does not answer the phone and after being on hold for 5-10 minutes twice, the call was disconnected. This is extremely inconvenient and not the first time I've had to do this at the Benner Pike location. Pick Up: The truck was damaged when I arrived to pick it up: a busted light on the front dumper, some damage to the rear, it also faintly smelled like smoke. Return: I returned the truck after hours and after trying for ten minutes to follow the self drop off instructions without success, I had no choice but to drop off the keys and leave without properly dropping the rental off. The website kept rebooting, not accepted my attached photos of the vehicle, gas, and mileage to prove my proper use, which makes me feel very insecure about possible blame for something I did not do. For example, because the website was not working I could not legitimately show I did put gas into the tank or damage the vehicle... This is unfair. This place is the most reliably unreliable businesses I've ever worked with. Customer service, friendly-ness, and communication is so poor. They would certainly be out of business I'd they didn't have a monopoly on the market.Emily C.

If you have a driver other than yourself..be clear that this person must be the contact phone number to return the vehicle. I was not told this and was charged $20 because I was not at the location to return vehicle. Very poor communication.Lance R.

I have a walking disability. I was given wrong key so had to walk way to back yard twice. There is no pull out step for getting into cab which made getting in very hard for me. There was no truck directions for changing head lights or for emergency or double parking. A very bad truck experience but a very good move. I used a step stool to get in and my mover picked it up for me. Very embarrassing. You need to improve as some who can't walk well are experienced and good drivers. Just saying.Sharon P.

After returning a truck on a one way move from Atlanta to State College, my wife informed me that the final invoice was $70 more than what I was quoted at the time of pick-up. Tanner Dishong, the manager, and his staff were very polite and apologetic in hearing my issue of being charged the insurance fee when I didn't select the option in the on-line form. I had a print out of the on-line order form that showed that I declined the insurance option and he said that the issue occurred at the pick up location., His assistant filed an incident report to take care of the problem at that moment. I received my refund the next week. I will certainly use their services again in the future.Paul D.

Improve the situation that happens when you dont have a requested size truck and you want the customer to travel 2 hours to get it. And that we weren't notified. I called the night before and was told there isn't a truck within 2 hours of my area. Big crimp in plans for the night before.Richard F.

There were two locations to drop off the trailer. One several miles outside of town and one right outside our hotel window. We were asked to deliver the trailer to the one several miles outside of town. Not a large issue, but the one right next door would have been easier.Craig J.

Overall customer service support by phone and online prior to arrival at this store was terrible. Little communication and general confusion of who I should talk to when I called the corporate numbers to enquire of the status of my late U-Box. I got shuffled around to multiple areas and dispatch offices all with very long hold times. Drop off driver was very good in Atlanta and Tanner Dishong the GM in State College PA was fantastic. Seems to me a complete lack of U-Box tracking and automated reporting is the issue. People trying to get the work done but no system to make it easy for them or the customers. In this day and age this is really pretty ridiculous.Stephen C.

I was told to use uhaul.com to return the trailer after hours or else I'd be charged a penalty. Uhaul.com would not let me "share my location". The web site ODES NOT WORK! I spent 90 minutes in the dealer parking lot (10:30 pm - Midnight) and never got confirmation that I was cleared. I was told I had to call the dealer Saturday morning to confirm the trailer had been returned. After multiple attempts to call, the dealer never answered), I had to call customer service. I was told they couldn't get the dealer to answer wither. I spent over 2 hours Saturday trying to sort this out. I was told the dealer was instructed to call me. The dealer never called. We were never notified that our original order of a 26' truck located in Reedsville U-Haul was switched to a 20' truck in State College. This added 80+ miles to our mileage for the day. While the manager felt that moving the mileage to the weekday rate of $0.79 was a suffice credit, out overall bill was STILL over what they initially pulled from our account. $120 was the initial estimate and then we were charged $131-135. The U-Haul in Reedsville told us that the U-Haul system reported we were contacted earlier in the week about the change but we were not, we would've never agreed to driving 80 miles out of the way, as there is another U-Haul company in Lewistown PA that is about 1 mile from our new property. In the midst of this mess we had two movers waiting on the clock for an additional 1.5 hours of locating our truck in State College and picking it up there which WE HAD TO PAY FOR. So in all U-Haul cost us far over $300 more for our move yesterday than it should've cost. As most people are, we are on a budget and moving ng is expensive. We were given no choice and very little recourse other than accepting the truck in State College and paying for this inconvenience that your company caused us. When we asked why we actually had not received a phone call earlier in the week, a representative in State College said, "we've been busy, this is a busy time". Well we are also busy too and we feel absolutely robbed by U-Haul for this move. I am considering contacting the BBB as the cost we incurred were so high for someone else's mistake. Our Uboxes arrived late at every junction. The boxes were not ready when the movers arrived to pick them up at the scheduled time. Then, the correct boxes were not shipped, leaving me still, 2 weeks after moving in, without 1/3 of my belongings, included if my mattress. Getting ahold of state college uhaul to fix this issue was impossible. After 20+ hours on hold and talking to uhaul customer support, I finally had to send someone who was in State College to go to the physical store to actually get the ball moving on this. The Manager still communicates only through the person I sent, not me, dispute being given my cell number. After all of this, Uhaul has attempted to charge me several times for their mistake. To say I'm never using uhaul service again is an understatement.Emma S.

When dropping off my truck, the personnel had me start the vehicle for them in order to check to see if it runs... even though they watched me drive onto the property. Then they had me activate the turn signals, reverse lights, provide them with mileage, asked me to tell them if it was clean.... Isn't that their job? To check the vehicle upon turn in? I have dropped off a rental at this location in the past and did not have these issues.Bryan P.

Extremely satisfied. We needed the truck for a move in Jersey Shore Pa, but was disappointed when we looked and saw the Jersey Shore rental was closed on Sundays. We were so glad that this office was open and had the truck we needed. Only complaint was from my grandson as the BIG truck didn't have a kids car seat...LOLLisa E.
The gentlemen at this location went above and beyond when my daughter left her favorite mask (that she has to wear 10 hours a day at work) in the truck. She returned to the location to look through the trash (she was that desperate!), the gentlemen in the store helped her find it...it had fallen beside the seat and was still in the truck!
