The truck I rented only have 1/4 of a tank of gas which is very low. I immediately filled it up and put in $125 filling it up to 3/4 of a tank and only used 1/8 of a tank and was not reimbursed. I tried to do the online pickup and the truck I was supposed to rent was in the back and had to ask what to do next since it wasn't clear. After clicking 'my truck isnt available" I was given the first truck in the line. Then after all this I still had to go inside to get the keys and wait on an attendant. There was no person there when I walked in the store and when someone finally walked out, she looked at me, said nothing, and walked across the store. The whole point of the online pickup was to avoid having to go inside and wait on a person. This was all at 8am on a Friday morning.Meredith W.

The drop off location had over an 45 min wait, and when I explained to the representative there what I was doing he said â€œhe knew nothing about U-Boxesâ€ and told me to come back the next day. So I did, got access to a U-box and left. Then I was called saying it hasn't been paid for, which I new it was since I set it up online, and told me I had to come back in person and pay. So I changed my flights to go back over there the next morning and once I get there I wait in line again, and a different representative told me everything was was paid and that I was good to go. I never have dealt with such incompetence on a customer service level before this, it truly has boggled my mind. It just makes me glad I didn't go this route when we moved the majority of our stuff.Thomas B.

I was told I would be credited for the extra charge and I have not seen that come through and I was not given any type of confirmation # or email verifying I would be refunded. I rented a 15' truck to move residences, and I drove a total of 8 miles (not my calculation, it's what's noted on my receipt). I was given the truck at a 1/4 tank of gas and was asked to return it at a 1/4 tank. A 15' truck burns fuel at 10 miles per gallon. I got my receipt the following day and was charged a $30 fuel service fee for not returning it at a 1/4 tank, and charged an additional $18.90 for the 4 gallons of gas which were added to the truck after I returned it. Is it seriously an expectation that I stop at a gas station and add less than a gallon of gas to return it to a quarter tank? And why was I charged for 4 gallons of gas if I burned less than a gallon based on miles driven? That's stealing, there's not really another term for it. When I visited the rental service location to ask about the additional charges, the individual I spoke with was rude and blamed me for not replenishing the gas I used...for 8 miles. Won't use this U-Haul location in the future and strongly recommend against using it to anyone I know.Brian P.

When I first called the representative said they were booked for the day I needed the u haul so I called the scheduling center and she was able to book me at their location and said they were not full. When we got there the keys were locked in our truck and we had to get a new one. When we finally got our truck there was damage to the door and the front of the truck. The gas level was also not accurate with the level it stated in the agreement which was all figured out fine at the end. When returning the truck I was unable to sign in on my app or utilize the website and had to call customer support and was on hold for close to 40 mins.Elizabeth S.

Just wanted to go out of my way to say that the staff at the university location was absolutely incredible after our reservation was moved here last minute. They were so kind and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Will absolutely be renting through your location again, even though it is farther for us than other locations. The staff there were great. Knowledgeable, professional and helpful. My only minor issue is the fuel in the truck was a little below half a tank, so when we refueled before returning we had to play a guessing game as to how much we needed to add to get it back to that initial mark. I wouldn't normally split hairs, but with gas prices so high, I didn't want to overshoot too much. It's always easier to start with a full tank so you know you just need to fill it up before returning.Michael M.
