The staff, which is usually one person regardless of the time of day or day of the week, is clearly over worked. I would guess that Uhaul is taking advantage of workers. The staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable….. but I feel bad when I go in and there is one person doing propane, handling sales inside the building and dealing with rental equipment. It is clearly too much work for one person. Makes me ponder the values of Uhaul and if I should continue to do business with a company that obviously exploits their employees good will.

I returned after hours and the guy working security was super helpful. Overall the spot was not very inviting but it was closed. There was not enough room for multiple trucks in the return area and I ended up having to get help to know where to park.

Employees were excellent. They deserve a massive raise. It was pouring rain, and I imagine that organizing the trucks was just about as enjoyable as moving was for me and my wife. The two employees at the St Johns UHAUL were skilled, quick, and efficient. Please, do whatever you can to increase their wages, as well as the wages of all UHAUL employees, apart from upper management. Stick together, stay safe, an be good to each other:)

Uhaul wasn't clean when I received it and I was charged a $25 cleaning fee upon returning it.

Customer service was poor during pick up and return. Blonde woman ignored me when I was trying to purchase goods during pickup while on her phone, directing me to go to her co-worker instead. At drop-off she wouldn't offer any assistance when I was struggling trying to check the van back in online. When I told her that the location feature on the UHaul app wouldn't seem to work (even with location services on), she said I would need to scan the location outside somewhere since they were closing. Yes, I did arrive 5 minutes before closing, but it seemed rude that they would leave me hanging that way. As soon as I walked out they locked the door and left. I called UHaul for assistance and the automated system told me the hold time would be over an hour. My phone was dying and I didn't know what to do. In desperation I changed from using Chrome to Safari and that resolved the issue. It was not a good experience.

Love the automated equipment checkin! Helpful hints for how much replacement gas to get but don't tell you what side the gas tank is on. No big deal, right? Just a minor irritant on a day filled with stress. You'll be happier if you check when you first get in the truck.

I've rented here several times in last 5 years and when I went to pick up the trailer I reserved nobody had done a walk around check after previous renter to note that the license plate was missing so I had to drive to another UHaul location - staff was nice however I was just inconvenienced is all and would still go back

I was very happy with on-the-ground staff at both Columbia and St. Johns locations, despite the cluster I had picking up "contactless" reservation. This is a company policy complaint ... despite having made a contactless pickup reservation, I received a mssg saying equipment wasn't loaded and I had to see a service agent inside. After a nearly 30 minute wait I was told there were no trucks available at the size I ordered (20'), only 10 footers. My frustration was compounded when informed that a reservation doesn't "guarantee" a vehicle will be available. So why make a reservation and why select contactless pickup? I had a crew waiting for me and no promised vehicle. The staff found a vehicle at another location, to which I was sent to pickup. I finally received a vehicle two hours after my arranged contactless pickup time. Staff at both locations were very helpful. But because of this company policy I will be using your competitors' service from now on.

Scheduled a pick up for a 15 foot u-haul truck. Pick up was quick and easy. Equipment was clean and in decent condition. Drop off was via the U-Haul app took the longest, but was simple to follow. May want to inform clients if they drop off a haul after hours not to drop the key in the drop box until completely done with the drop off check list while using the app.

Good experience overall. There was a long line at pick up. The manager seemed disappointed when we confirmed we needed the full two day reservation, which was a little confusing. Also, the gas station down the street hesitated to put fuel in the truck because he said people have been cutting the fuel neck at that uhaul location. Our truck was fine but thought you should know... Thanks for the service.

The person at the UHaul location was completely alone and incredibly frustrated and angry because the headquarters kept sending him people. This was no the location that I was scheduled to pick-up my truck from. When we arrived the truck was in the "central maintenace" key location because there was a check engine light on. The attendant had no idea why it was there and basically threw the key at us and told us good luck. We were driving the truck one way over 125 miles so we wanted to make sure that we weren't going to break down on the way after loading everything into the 15' truck! He checked the code and it was related to the catalytic converter but this was not something that should have happened. I received a notification a few days prior that my truck would be available to pick up at the location i chose and then was notified the night before that the location had changed. Why even notify me if that it's confirmed if the location could change anyways?! Frustrating. The online check-in didn't work for us because the truck was parked in by other trucks and then the mileage AND the reported gas were wrong but the attendant was SO busy that we just had to by pass everything in order to get going because he couldn't help us fix anything. Not the best situation for making sure you don't get charged any additional money.

The location was fine and the people there were very helpful. However, Uhauld self check and return are not user friendly. The company needs to rethink its customer experience and the internal staff and automated check and return need to work in tandem.

This place was an alternative found by U-Haul as truck not avail at the reservation location booked. Caused me to incur 40 to travel there and back as was 5 miles from where I was. Also caused me to be 1 hour late to start move causing me 50 extra charge by helpers plus added 10 miles to truck charges â€" U-Haul should adjust overall bill to adddress these expenses incurred due to U-Haul failure to provide reserved truck at reserved location and time
