The customer service representative Tyler was very helpful and kind. The only issue was that I had to reschedule the first two times because the vehicle I reserved for 7:45AM was not ready. I understand the store is unable to control customers not bringing the vehicles in on time. It would be great if the store ensured the vehicle to be ready for the following customers reservation.STEPHANIE R.
Arrived at 6:40 pm, site was scheduled to close at 7 pm. I was told that they didn't accept drop offs after 6:30 pm. Eventually was allowed to drop trailer after showing text from one of your supervisors allowing me to drop in the town of my residence. There was a long line and only 2 people helping guests. The truck had a warning for some stability warning after I was almost to my location but I was able to continue my move. Truck was not available even though reservation was made a head of time. Alternative location was not reasonable. Had to rent larger truck and return to original location instead of returning at intended destination, incurring additional mileage and extra gas costs.JESUS S.

Checkout and return was a breeze. The staff there is excellent. On my last rental I left a negative review about the manager, Tyler. That was a big misunderstanding. She called me and cleared things up, turns out I misunderstood what she was saying. I give her major credit for reaching out to me. I see she is an awesome employee and Manager for the company. I understand with covid things move a little slower but I was literally there for 45 minutes before we got our truck and got out of there. Likewise I started off trying to reserve a 10-ft truck but it was unavailable from that location even though I made a reservation a week and a half early, so I upgraded to a 15 ft truck which they accidentally reserved for the wrong day and ended up upgrading me to a 20 ft truck which while I appreciated the effort was way too big for what I needed and kind of cumbersome to drive. It did work however so I can't complain too loudly. The gentleman that assisted me at the Merced location was a good employee however and listened to my concerns on the subject and attempted to help as best he could. So aside from me lengthy delay during checkout and getting a truck twice as big as I originally intended everything went decently in the end I suppose in the Merced location.Jason L.

Each time I've been to this location they do not have the van rental I scheduled. I'll even call ahead to confirm the reservation a week in advance but when I get there they don't have the van I ordered. The staff is usually great about fixing the problem though and I just get upgraded to a larger van. I wouldn't consider this place a reliable rental if someone needs a specific size van.MELANIE L.

Merced uhaul messed up my order 2x by not contacting me that the individual who installed the hitch was unavailable for 2 weeks and they did not have the manager contact me. then atwater messed up by saying they had no trailer within 300 miles. It's frustrating to be told 2 days prior to moving out of state that they cannot help me. Luckily I reserved another teaileen& got lucky.Ann L.

Tyler needs additional training in professionalism and respect. She was pronouncing my name wrong so I sent her a message requesting that she pronounce my name properly, along with the proper pronunciation. She apologized, but made a mockery of my request by intentionally spelling my name incorrectly with quotations around the misspelling. That is extremely disrespectful. Also, it is a very bad idea to threaten your customers with extensive fees on the first phone call attempt. Yes, I was late returning my equipment, so a phone call was in order. Unfortunately I missed the call and was a left a message from Tyler stating how another customer had a reservation 4-1/2 hours from the time of the message and that if she had to cancel their reservation because I was late then I would have to pay additional fees on top of the extra rental charge. Just because a person doesn't answer the call doesn't mean they're going dodging you. There are many reasons to miss a call, and the professional thing to do is try and find out why the return is late, when the rental will be returned, and try and work out alternative options before jumping to charging non-existent fees. If you don't want all of your customers to make U-Haul a â€œlast resort onlyâ€ type of business, then I suggest your workers are mandated to try and work with the customer before threatening them with fees. And with this coming from the manager, it makes me feel as if there is no one available to resolve issues with. I've rented here many times, and I have never returned my equipment late, prior to today. In fact I usually return early. This type of behavior makes me feel unwelcome and uneasy when doing business with your company. That will eventually lead to myself, as well as others, exhausting every other possible method before using your company for business. That includes paying extra or even altering plans altogether in order to avoid going here. No business wants to be last on a persons preferred list, and though U-Haul is at the top of the moving business chain, that can always change and your customers will remember the way they were treated and will not stay loyal to you. This store is super high volume for customers. Got there at 7.30 took me 1/2 hour to get a trailer I already pre ordered online a week ahead of time. The people behind the counter are doing there best but can't keep up with the demand of people when I returned the trailer 2 hrs later people were getting so frustrated about the wait in line herd multiple comments from people that been there before this is an on going issue. They need more help behind the counter. To get people in and out I waited 45 minutes to return the trailer. . People behind the counter were respectful and helpful. But that doesn't help the extended wait times. I would u this location again if needed.JOSEPH B.

There was a minor issue with fuel management on the U-Haul rental truck. The employees need to do a better job of checking the fuel level. In my case, they assume and automatically told me that there is 1/2 a tank of fuel. When I checked, the fuel gauge read 1/8 of a tank. I was quoted a price when I made reservations for a U-Haul truck. When I returned the U-Haul, they were going to charge me an even higher price. I was not happy and asked why? The employee helping me out explained that I did not fill up fuel before returning the U-Haul truck. Luckily for me, I kept track of the fuel gauge and mileage by taking pictures on my cell phone. Since I took pictures and was able to show proof of the fuel level before and after, the manager was very helpful and corrected the fuel issue. In the end, I was charged accordingly and am happy with their service.KUE L.

Tyler Jones at Merced UHaul was wonderful. She was able to back out the cost of the appliance dolly and did not charge me for the extra miles I had to drive from the bay area back to Merced. Tyler went beyond the call of duty. In the past we have always had excellent service from Merced UHaul. If in the future if I am directed by UHaul central to go out of area to get a truck, I won't use UHaul.Linda B.
