The location was supposed to open at 7:00 AM and we had a 7:00 AM rental reservation. No one was there. After several calls to U-Haul Customer Service they were able to contact the franchise president who came in at 8:15. Good news, we still got a truck and a discounted rate for the delay.DAVID M.
The mechanical side of the truck was awful. Too much play in steering wheel, out of alignment, breaks squealed badly and the back door felt like it was sticking.Anita H.

No complaints with this pick up location. Very disappointed in the customer service when making reservation. Truck wasn't available at the original pick up location after I received confirmation. Very stressful to have to deal with less than 48 hrs of my pick up.Tracy E.

The two employees I dealt with were exceptionally polite, professional and friendly. I can't recall the woman's name, but I think it was Georgia. The male employee was a Mr. Read. It was an overall enjoyable experience, dur mostly to these two employees. Please pass on my best wishes to them.Carl H.

This was my first time renting a box truck from Uhaul for a move, and I gotta say the process at the Gettysburg uhaul was the smoothest part of my entire moving day. The employee (I think his name was Ryan? It began with an R - sorry if I got that wrong!) was extremely friendly and professional, was able to answer all of my questions and got me promptly on my way. I'm a seriously happy customer thanks to him and will definitely be bringing more business to my local uhaul in the future. I think he may have been the only employee in the place at the time, which makes the whole experience all the more amazing as I saw him balancing a variety of customers in my short time there. Give this guy a raise, promotion or something because he absolutely killed it this Saturday!Thomas G.

I had appointment @ 4pm. No one was in the office. I waited about 10 minutes or so before the clerk came in and went right to the computer. He didn't look at me, did not acknowledge me, nothing. He continued to work on the computer after two minutes I finally asked him if there was someone that could help me.he never looked at me,never greeted me, he hurriedly said he was helping a customer and he'd be with me after he's finished while, again, not even looking at me or even acknowledging my presence. As soon as his coworker came in from helping another outside customer, the clerk started laughing and joking with the coworker but had no decency to greet or acknowledge a customer who could potentially walk out. The other gentleman was attending to me and was very cordial. Maybe the clerk doesn't know that if it weren't for the customers , he would not have a job.BARBARA R.

Need to have more than one person working on a Saturday afternoon. Likely the busiest day of the week for U-Haul, and one employee cannot handle the amount of customers. When I returned the trailer, there were three others waiting to return equipment, and others coming in while I waited. The lone employee was busy doing a contract for a storage unit for another customer. This is no fault of that employee, he was doing all he could, but because he was there alone, there were several unhappy customers who were waiting. Other than the long wait to return the trailer, the rest of the rental was as expected from U-Haul, excellent. As a suggestion, advertise that the Self-Return can be accomplished even during normal business hours. The signs as they are, make it appear that Self-Return is only for outside of normal hours.Brian C.

At drop off (Saturday, noon), there was only one person working. He had to finish with the person in front of me then go inside to take care of another person before helping me to close out. There was the earlier drop off in front of me and another in the other return bay so I could not disconnect the trailer myself to speed the process as I had to wait for it to be moved. The guy was nice, friendly, and a pleasure to work with - he took it all in stride. But for me, what should have been a five minute drop off took much longer.Matthew F.

Not happy at all! I booked my reservation online 2 weeks prior then on the day before pick up I got a call saying my pick location changed reserved pick up location was 2 blocks from my house new pickup location was 16 miles away. Also, my drop off location changed as well had to drive 3.5 miles instead of the original .9 miles. Also, was charged $20 for 4 gallons of gas absolutely no way I was under by that amount maybe 1 gallon and that's being generous! Look for another companyJason H.

Bad uneven seal on shed door at bottom. Rat poison dispensers and mouse glue traps on floor inside my assigned shed. Employee told me unit is not as temperature regulated as website claims. Also told me there was a flood at these units the week before & renters had to be called about it. Manager of facility absolutely refused to give me even a partial refund, even though I returned less than 24 hrs later to retrieve my stored items the very next day after renting the unit! I stood in front of employee who called their manager, and she did not even hesitate to say no to my refund request. The employee was aware that I was retrieving my stuff, but they marked my move out date almost a month later as a ploy to keep my money. I've trusted u-haul my entire life. (I'm in my 50's) but am utterly appalled and disappointed in this u-haul location and their lack of decency and professionalism!!!THOMAS S. | Overall Experience

Very nice experience both with the gentlemen at U-Haul, and the moving help I booked through U-Haul. Everyone was always as helpful and thoughtful as they could be. Don't like moving, but the guys at U-Haul made this easier.Shadoe D.

The app for truck share 24/7 was frustrating to use and I ended up having to go inside and get help. They were very helpful but frustrated with the app as well. I was glad I picked up during regular hours or I'm not sure how I would have gotten my rental when needed.Dori C.

Trailer tires should be checked for proper pressure and damage such as bulges. One of Our auto transport tires blew out after 150 miles. There had been a vibration the would come and go that was completely resolved on the replacement tire. Unfortunately the replacement had to be done on the shoulder of I-95 and took almost 3 hours.Jason D.

RAT POISON TRAPS AND MOUSE GLUE TRAPS, A TOTAL OF 3 INSIDE THE UNIT I RENTED. NO SEAL AT BOTTOM OF ROLLING DOOR ON RIGHT SIDE UNDER LOCK AT DOOR LEVEL. I WAS TOLD THE UNITS AT THIS FACILITY HAD RECENTLY FLOODED. THIS STORAGE LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PROFESSIONAL AND CLEAN UNITS IN THE ONLINE VIDEO. I WAS ASKED BY THE EMPLOYEE ON DUTY FOR MY LOCK CODEWORD ON THE $15 LOCK I HAD JUST PURCHASED. WHEN I TOLD HIM I FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THAT HE SAID HE DID NOT HAVE TO HAVE IT. ALSO, I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION BY U-HAUL'S ONLINE ADVERTISEMENT THAT THESE UNITS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE CLIMATE CONTROLLED. I WAS HOWEVER TOLD THAT THESE UNITS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO EXTREMES OF BOTH HEAT AND COLD. THE STUFF I PLANNED TO STORE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT RISK. I RETURNED THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE DAY AFTER I HAD RENTED THIS UNIT, TO RETRIEVE MY ITEMS. I DID NOT FEEL THEY WERE SAFE THERE. I ASKED FOR A PARTIAL REFUND SINCE I HAD RENTED THIS UNIT FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS, AND WAS REFUSED BY THE MANAGER THAT THE PERSON ON DUTY CALLED ON THE PHONE. I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH A REFUND FOR 3 WEEKS NOT USED, SINCE MY STUFF WAS THERE OVERNIGHT.THOMAS S. | First Impressions

Be consistent with pricing and HONEST. First rep told me 79 cents a mile. I came in a second time to extend rental, rep told me 89 cents a mile. I asked why 89 cents? Because it's the weekend? He said, â€œyeah, probably.â€ Then returning truck, representative says 99 cents a mile, and 5 rental periods. I told him others said 79 cents and 89 cents and asked WHY 99 cents a mile? He said, â€œOh because somebody probably did something they weren't supposed to.â€ I told him I had it 4 periods. He charged me for 5 anyway. I had it Friday 6pm to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday, Sunday to Monday, and Monday to Tuesday at 6pm. That's 4 periods which is 96 hours. I feel they play games to overcharge you and rip you off.ANTOINETTE B.

I reserved a 20' truck and car carrier. When I went to pickup Gettysburg Uhaul had a 26" truck and no car carrier. I received a confirmation call and email the day before pickup. This was a very frustrating experience. I don't know about other dealers, but stay far away from the Gettysburg, PA Uhaul. On a positive note, the truck ran well, but it wasn't what I ordered. Plus the lack of a car carrier, made us change ALL our plans on moving day.. Gettysburg is very poorly managed.Mahlen P.
