Trailer was clean, but when I got to my destination to load the trailer I found that the trailer smelled from urine. Then found a wet puddle in the front part of the trailer. A wet sock in corner behind rollup door. The liquid , I suspect, was urine. I had to get 2 - five gallon buckets of water and a bottle of "Awsome" disinfectant and wash it out twice, and rinse it twice, then dry it with clean rags and paper towels. This put me an hour behind schedule. I don't think they noticed it, because I didn't notice it eithe; until the trailer drove and bounced around a little. Their equipment is always clean. This was only a one time event. But I had to rent a small 8' foot trailer , instead of a 6'Ã-12' trailer that I had reserved 3 weeks in advance, even stopped by the day befor6 to check that a 6Ã-12' would still be available. Then came 6 hours early to make sure on would be available . But when I showed up to pick-up my reserved trailer, they didn't have one. Then they found one close by, printed out a new reservation to go and pick-up trailer, then when on my way to New facility, I got a phone call that they did not have one either. Returned to Cicero location and rented the only thing they had . I was told on the phone by customer service that they would credit my bank card with 50 dollars in 3 to 5 days. The small trailer was NOT big enough to fit enough of the containers I needed to load. It forced me to travel 46 miles for nothing. I was late, due to washing out urine in trailer then had to drive back and unload the same containers back into storage. It cost me almost 500.00 in lost income, AND over a half tank of gasoline. I know this isn't their fault, but it all could of been avoided if my reservation was fullfilled....

The people who hook up the trailers need to be Trained properly. The person who put on the uhaul 2inch curt into the trailer hitch of our vehicle didn't put the pin in to hold it properly and while we were driving it within 10 minutes of leaving the lot the trailer came loose and it rammed into our van causing damage to back bumper and put a dent in the bottom panel

Great location. Friendly staff. My only issue was the return sign in the lot that says “wait here and a representative will come out to assist you.” No one every came out. Other than that…. Great experience.

When I arrived foe pick up the truck size I reserved was not available. The site says You get $50 off for the inconvenience and I did not the clerk didn't know how to do it and send he would leave a message for the evening clerk but she didn't credit my account either.

Very disappointed. I came as a walk-in with no prior reservations and the agent told me all the trucks were booked. I immediately tried to book online for the same truck, at the same location, and was able to do a mobile pick up 10 minutes later. The poor work ethic is evident and the agent was either too lazy to check the system thoroughly or the whole system was faulty.

The staff is nice. But the self-return process is a mess as there is no ORANGE KEY DROP-OFF BOX. So for those who want to return after hours, my suggestion is that you can drop the key in any of the three lock box to the right of the main entrance, though they were listed as "Truck Share 24/7" boxes. I tried it and called that place the next day, the staff confirmed they received my key. So confirm with the staff at the counter first when you decide to return the vehicle later!

We were told we could get a one way rental but when we got there we could only get one that needed to be returned to the same location. U-haul needs a better tracking system for their equipment

I chose to pick-up my uhaul down the block where I had lived from and was sent to 25 minutes away to pick it up instead. This eventually added charged miles to my uhaul use. I chose to use mobile pick-up where they asked me for a picture of my license front and back, fine, and then wanted two points of contacts as well as a picture of a passport, lease agreement, or work contact. I didn't have any of this with me at the time and needed to check in with someone at the desk who I had fourtante to check me out and get me on my way. When I got back to the home to start loading up I found out the padlock on the cargo lock did not match the keys I was given. Took me an hour to find a grinder to cut off the lock after I was given the okay from the store. At drop off I had $45 dollars in extra miles added to my bill. Their was not much room for error as I was driving 120 miles out of state amd had to drive about 30 of those miles out of my way for pick up. It wasn't the smoothest of moving day but that was my experience with U-haul.

I have rented a trailer and trucks from this location in the past. And with NO problems. However, this time was an eye opener. We rented a trailer. Had the hitch we purchased from Uhaul in stailled and drove off. We prepared for our trip and just before getting the interstate my husband realized that 5he trailer was moving. He pulled over to discover that the trailer was not properly hitched. That the pin was gone. I contacted the assistance number I was given in case f emergencies and was told that was our hitch and so for our problem. That they could call someone for us but because I couldn't specify what else might be wrong I would need to have it towed. And that there was no idea what the charges would be. The only certain thing was that I would be paying for it. With us stuck in the middle of the road my husband was forced to leave myself and our 3 children and go for help.. Luckily, my husband was able to walk to a Walmart to purchase a new hitch and fix the trailer. I rent this equipment 3 times a year for a private club event. With over 200 members doing the same. Trust me our late arrival was the center of many conversations. I was assured by some that because of the problem Uhaul would over some type of apology. And they are all waiting to hear. Before they make reservations for their July rentals?

When taking a reservation over the phone, let the customer know what location to pick up the rental. I went to Forest Park to pick up the rental truck, and I was bnit aware I was surprised to go to Cermak and Laramie. ,

Customer service for this location is HORRIBLE. We rented a truck to move, were given a truck that was on empty in gas and instructed that we would be getting reimbursed for the gas that was left over after we filled it/used it. Upon return, we were told by another employee that they could not refund the gas due to the system being down and told to return on another day to speak to a manager. After taking the time to come back DAYS later the manager was of no help at all and said she could do nothing for us and to contact customer service. I will not be returning to this location or recommending UHAUL overall. Continuously getting the run around by everyone from the company for this simple basic issue is exhausting and ridiculous.

I arrived at 830a to pick up the truck, with the early online self pick up option. The online verification process took much too long, in spite having provided all the same information the day before. Then when I received the lockbox code, there was no key in it. I had to knock on the door and get the key to the truck from a worker. At the end of my rental, went through the return process and was told to drop off the key in a yellow drop box. This location didn't have one. Would be a nightmare if we were returning the truck after hours.

Make sure your employees are aware of the process and charges. It is a shame when they tell you they don't know what the charges will be. I asked what the charge is for gas and the associate literally told me she didn't know. The manager was standing right next to her and allowed her to repeatedly say she didn't know. I then said you need to be able to tell me the price per gallon and how much i will be charged. She looked dumbfounded. The manager came over took a look at my account on the screen and said your charge will be $6.00. I asked if I was being billed $6.00 and she confirmed yes. She said your receipt is being sent to your email on file. Well low and behold, my receipt came to me about 10 minutes later and I was charged $25. Ridiculous considering she had already told me the charge was $6. And I was only in need of gas because I failed to fill it all the way to the exact line. It maybe needed 1 gallon at the most and it appears I was charged for 5 gallons. Ripping people off!
