When i dropped off my uhaul that i had rented someone drove off in it as i was dropping it off they could not have returned it when i did but added a bunch of miles to it then charged me for itSHANNON H.

I intended to rent a U-Haul for a day, 24 hours. Never have been able to rent for more than 17 hours at any of the locations in the area. Each time I feel like been short-changed 7 hours of the time I should have been renting it. This benefits U-Haul, and inconveniences me.KEVIN M.

you all did not habve my reservation. made me drive to ballwin- 64 min rounds trip on moving day causing me to be two hours late and therefore have no moving help whatsoever. If you made a reservation, it must be stuck to. I will never ever use uhaul for anything in the future, and will tell everyone i know to do the sameAmanda N.

Your online site is painful. I made the reservation and received confirmation to pick up at Grover MO location only to find the next morning after going to pick up the trailer that the location had been changed via an email sent late the night before. My confirmation said to call your 800 number. Tried that. No answer for over 45 mins. When I went to the Manchester location to pick up trailer they didn't have the record of the reservation an didn't have the size I wanted. They were very accommodating. No real issues with this location. Need to improve your online and reservation system. Need to answer your phones. BTW. DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO MAKE FOLLOW UP ON THIS COMPLAINT BASED ON HISTORY SO FAR.GERALD H.

We were quoted a price with a flat rate from the corporate office that did not match the location were we got the equipment. I spent a lot of time on the phone. The dash light when we first got in the van said "oil change soon". The steering pulled slightly to the right. However, the van was easy to drive and served our purposes very well.DIANA K.

Easy to set up rental. Service was quick and easy for pick up and drop off. Truck was in great condition and worked perfectly.BRIAN B.
The lack of professionalism. The poor customer service. The hostile service environment. Trying to make a purchase at the counter, straining to hear the employee interacting with me due to a group of 3+ other employees trading stories about bar fights and how they would act during a bar fight if they got into one. Yelling over each other. Like middle school kids. Empty drink containers and trash strewn across the counter. Two days after I returned my rental I received a telephone call in which the Uhaul employee accused me of not returning my rental on time, only to realize they had made a mistake and called the wrong person. The wannabe cop attitude was pathetic. "When were you planning on returning that cargo van that's two days late?" Did management train these employees to act like loan sharks? I paid nearly $150 to this office last week between a vehicle rental and packing materials and was treated with less than disrespect. I blame all of this on poor management. Employees take cues from their leaders. I will never use this Uhaul branch again, and may never interact with Uhaul as a customer again. The employees will be happy about that. We did not notice when we picked up the 12' trailer it did not have a jack. We could not unhitch the trailer from our truck.jeff D.
Location is fine never had any problems there in the past, however this time around I used the 24/7 ride share. The instructions as to where on the lot the truck was were not clear, on top of sitting on hold for 45 min to even get the process started. And local law enforcement coming numerous times under suspicion of nefarious activity on the lot. If you know that law enforcement is stopping by your lot ever 20 min you should let them know if there are late night pick ups so as to not waste their time. Also if the app is supposed to be a faster more convenient solution for renting it should be more streamlined and more accurate. Also under alternate contact you should advise customers that the contact must be available for a call at the "time of pickup". My wife had to work at 5 am and was forced to answer a phone call 1230am. Also my pickup was scheduled for 11pm and I didn't leave with the truck until 1245am. Just to give you an idea of how awful this experience was if I haven't made that clear enough already. Also the fact that the customer is required to do the job of the Uhaul employees in the app ie. Pictures of interior, inspection, fuel,odometer etc. Is ridiculous when under normal pickup circumstances I can hand them the key and be on my way. This was anything but convenient for me. I will never use this "new way to rent" again.Sean O.

Staff was great about walking me through the use of the ramp and the gate. I have never driven a large truck before. She assured me I would get the hang of it and it was actually a lot of fun. Driving the truck with my two sons with me was the best part of the move.ERIC T.

It's extremely difficult to call any of your locations and get information and/or assistance. Long hold times and frustrated employees in all locations. We leased a truck for a Saturday but got a 7 AM call saying the truck Wouldn't be available until 430 that afternoon. We had lined up people to help us move furniture into the truck that day. We spent 2 1/2 hours calling many locations and other companies trying to get another truck. We finally got someone in downtown St. Louis to help us find a truck in Ballwin. The truck was smaller than we had wanted but ended up working out OK. We had the same difficult experience a couple of years ago in Florida. My suggestion to you would be to have better customer service, more people answering the phone, and more employees to work the desk and phones.Virginia B.

Te locations were fine for the ones that were open with personnel . We had our pick up location 3 times , the last change coming the morning of our move. The customer service by phone was not good at all -seemed like a huge disconnect within the company. When they changed location on the second time the time difference was 3 hours later than the first. We had people coming to help at that earlier time so they suggested doing the pickup online. We tried to maneuver through a very user UNFRIENDLY WEB SITE. Then the morning of the move they changed our pick up site as we were sitting at the second site. We drove over there and luckily they were open and helpful. It was a pretty stressful morning trying to get on the road. I know the situation during this time of with shortage of help, but you need to really work on your website and have better coordination between locations and customer service on the phones.ROBERT G.

Your reservation system is misleading. When I expressed concerns about your customer service people were rude. You need to commit to an equipment allocation or be clear that the equipment is not available at the desired location. I may not use UHaul again, particularly due to the rudeness of the last person that I spoke to.Tracey C.

You encourage customers to do everything online. But when I was at the UHaul in Ballwin, they told me they could not install a hitch to my Audi Q7. They said they wish online wouldn't allow customers to make this appointment knowing it cannot be done.THOMAS H.
