The "automated" check in process was a joke. It took me 25 minutes of waiting. It would have been quicker to go to the front desk. And when I talked to the front desk about speeding it up, they said they couldn't do it. Someone had to call a reference (my son, who was with me) and that could have been done when I set up the reservation. Frustrating that your technology slowed things down...high user friction.Scott J.

I pulled into the Arcadia location to rent a trailer and my battery died. The Uhaul personal refused to help me stating they had no jumper cables and would not use their battery charger to jump my truck. I would say that customer service is lacking and in a day when we can all use a hand, this is not a good example of trying to help a customer. This was a very disappointing experience.JOE D.

Went to the location on 24th st and McDowell in Phoenix followed by the location near 26th st and Indian school in the same day of this rental where they were unhelpful and unpleasant. One guy at the 26th st location said he couldn't check inventory at nearby stores until I questioned it. He had to get his manager who was busy eating cake behind the computer before getting me an answer and referral to the Camelback location. The gentleman at the Camelback location was helpful.RODNEY S.

I'm 52 &a grandma, during my rental I tested positive for covid 19 in the hospital for 2 + weeks. Someone reported the truck stolen since it was parked with all my belonging in it the whole time. I've already paid $180. which was hard now uhaul wants 1400 or all my grandsons, mine, my sons stuff is sold and being charged for 300 for they say a free storage unit. Several times I attempted to contact explaining and no reply. I just want my stuff back . Kammelakammie G.

Staff is rude. I asked for a dolly rental. The staff member told me he was out of all dollies. As I drove by the ship, seen about fifteen sitting there. My reservation was given to someone else because I didn't show up â€œon timeâ€. I already put my credit card info to reserve the truck for 8 hours. Terrible service all around!Richard C.

The original cargo van I booked at a different location closer to me ended up having a dead battery when I went to pick it up. Although I was promptly accommodated with a larger vehicle at a different location, it was frustrating and stressful as I booked the cargo van two weeks in advance and had a set moving schedule that was slightly delayed.MACKENZIEANN K.

I had made a reservation for this specific location for a 20 inch truck. Unfortunately I live 50 minutes away but it was the only location that had this size available. I arrived 15 minutes early for pickup for them to tell me after I arrived that I would not be able take the 20 footer since the previous renter returned it with a flat. They accommodated me with a 17 footer and 10 dollars off. I asked if I could drop it off a different location but they did not offer that service for these trucks i was told. Although the 50 minute drive would have been worth it for the 20ft it was not worth it for the 17. We had a lot of big furniture pieces and appliances to move and to tetris it all in there was incredibly annoying and time consuming. Not to mention the e tra miles fir a smaller truck. It was just a disappointing experience.Guadalupe C.

I had a horrible experience with Uhaul. They charged me multiple times for storage and delivery. They lost one of my boxes and only delivered 4 of the 5 Uboxes I had. It took them a week to find the missing Ubox and that was after I called multiple times to follow up even though when I confirmed twice for the drop off they said there was 5 boxes. They also tried to charge me for the 5th box that they lost when they went to ship it to me. The 5th box is scheduled a month after the boxes came.Nicole A.

Had truck for less than an hour before learning my moving help cancelled on me. Called the uhaul location and was told I could reschedule without being charged again. Returned truck and finalized bill before being told I will have to pay everything twice. Truck was in terrible condition, engine stalled every time it down shifted.Richard C.
I'm not sure if my grief is with this location as much as with U-Haulâ€˜s system of reservations. After I made reservations for this location somehow the system changed it to a different location so when I went to pick it up at first they couldn't give me the truck that I was served without having me call customer service. I have tried to physically come to this location a week before to make sure they had it right and at that point they did not help me like they should've. I knew there was going to be a problem so I tried to fix it ahead of time and they wouldn't let me and then when I showed up to pick up the truck., I was right there was a problem. I did eventually get the truck but it took about 45 minutes To fix it. What I would do different next time is to not make a reservation and to just show up at the location I want and try to get a truck. Not a very good system for U-HaulDavid W.
