On site help from the staff at Williston VT was great. The Williston gets a 5 star for its efforts and help. I would recommend a bit more attention to detail as my name was botched once and that caused some issues with my reservations. The only reason I gave a 4 star (for OVERALL UHaul storage experience) was the online process (verification, check in) wasn't at all smooth and required me to call UHaul several times. I was always routed to the UHaul call center and found the interactions with the call center inconsistent - once I was dropped and another time was given the wrong rental unit.David S. | Online Move In

Moving in to the storage unit was super easy, competitively priced, with great access. The luggage trolley's were a big help and there were plenty available. I didn't realize when reserving that my unit would not be accessible 24/7. For someone who works 2nd shift, it is super inconvenient for me not to be able to access my unit after 10pm. I will likely have to chance facilities. As happy as I am with the unit, especially having climate control for such a reasonable price, If I can't access it during the times that I need, it doesn't do me any good to have it.Jennifer M. | Online Move In

The staff at this particular U-Haul in Williston VT 5010 Williston Road, Williston VT 05495 were extremely wonderful! These 4 employees possesses excellent customer services, attention to detail, and infinite patience, THESE 4 GUYS ARE WHAT I WOULD CALL "ROCK STARS" The attendant brought me up to my 10 x 15 x 10 and before that showed me how to access the security system as I had purchased the 24/7 additional service and he showed me how to use the outside security system to enter and leave the system along with the lock that is used on my storage unit for maximum security of my belongings in my climate controlled unit. Too bad General Manager Greg Thompson has such a bad attitude!! He could have cared less!! When I reserved, I was looking for the smallest rental truck with a ramp due to the tight location to offload of a single large appliance. I received at least 4 emails and texts from U-Haul regarding my upcoming reservation of a 15' truck. When I arrived this U-Haul branch only had a 26' truck available. I asked for a 15' truck as stated on my reservation and noted my disappointment when they did not have one. I said it would have been nice to receive a simple CUSTOMER SERVICE call prior to my arrival that they would not have what I reserved. G.M. Greg Thompson copped an immediate attitude stating "you don't have to rent the truck" and "It's our right to upgrade the truck". I was up against a time deadline to meet a gas-line/ plumber installer for this appliance so I did not have time to go elsewhere...but could have easily obtained a smaller truck 10 min. down the street at another U-Haul location, had I received notice of reservation change!! What happened to a little customer service?? All the emails and texts from U-Haul and not a single mention of change?? Lose the attitude GREG!Richard H.

I'm making a move from NJ to VT and rented a unit last Thursday. I moved items yesterday and arrived at the unit to find my access card didn't work. I called customer service , who left a message for the manager. I also left a voicemail at the number on the access card reader. I also called the security company. I had to find a safe place for my belongings on a Sunday night, which is not easy. I still have not heard back. I called customer service again, which couldn't reach the manager either and routed me back to the 1-800 #. Please call me back! This location was wonderful, but UHaul reservations were unacceptable. I had a reservation at a different location about 1/2 mile away. My reservation was canceled with less than 24 hrs notice and I was told to go 45 minutes away to pick up a similar truck. I luckily found this nearby place completely by myself. The trailer has a 55 MPH sign on it which is confusing. The technician told me it was a recommendation however, it is impossible to go from Vermont to South Carolina at 55 MPH safely. This was concerning to me as I traveled highways with 18 wheelers and speed limits were 65 & 70 MPH. I was nervous during the trip based on the 55 MPH sign on my trailer when I HAD to travel at higher speeds. I am providing feedback to try and understand what that sign on trailer meant.GARY V.

It took over 1 hour to use "Truck Share 24/7" at this location. The website does not work well in poor reception areas, like the one where this store is located. It could not find my location even though I allowed location access. Fortunately I was able to make better progress with the Android app. The reservation was for 7am but the vehicle was not ready until about 7:20. The key was not placed in the lock box even though there were lock boxes at the location. I could not go inside due to coronavirus health concerns (I am taking care of an ill family member). The local number listed on the website gave me the call center, not the people inside the store that I needed to talk to in order to get the key. Phone support was helpful and friendly but they couldn't help me get the key. When staff eventually came outside for other duties, I asked them for the key and showed them the U-Haul app screen showing the validated Truck Share check-in. The first person didn't get help but I flagged down the visiting regional manager and he was able to get the key. Because of these experiences, I cannot recommend this location and would consider another truck rental company in the future.PAUL H.

If you allow someone to choose a location to access their UBox, let them access it at that location, or at least notify them if you have closed that facility's service! Neither were done in my case and you moved my UBox access to a store five times the driving distance from my house without warning me until the day before I loaded it. You also didn't respect my shipping reservation dates and I was told that my box could be shipped any day when I was halfway through loading it, even though online it said I had a week left to access my box in the source location. I was told I couldn't change dates online (as was initially advertised) and was told to cancel my shipping, and I wasn't allowed to make a reservation to ship in the future until my box was fully loaded (despite that being the sequence that my original shipping reservation was made). Although my box arrived on time in the end, this process made moving extremely stressful when all of these hassles were avoidable. Additionally, all UHaul staff I spoke to laid the blame on me and never once apologized in any way for what where operational failures or technical issues and limitations on the business side.Gustave S.

The facility was great and the staff were helpful, but there was only one staff member out of the three who was able to help-the general manager-as the second person I found (I walked all around the building trying to find someone to help me; three other people were also looking for help; and a line of cars went out the door) was a maintenance person and the third person was in training using the forklift. I saw one person drive away because he had been waiting for so long and no one was helping him. Once I got help, they were wonderful, but there needs to be a better system in place and communication about employees' whereabouts to customers; otherwise, U-Haul will keep losing business like the person I spoke to who was also waiting for 20+ minutes.Emily O. | First Impressions
Staff person Marco Marroccia was awesome. Our reserved 9' van was not available so he quickly moved us up to a 10' box truck. We drove only 5 miles to load the truck up but then found out the new location for the family of 5 was not ready so drove back to Uhaul with a loaded truck. He told us with a truck rental the first month of storage was free and the new facilities 2nd floor was now open. We had been told before storage units were all taken. App to pick up uhaul truck wasn't working properly. Didn't give me code for outside key. Long line inside because of only 1 very nice employee working. Finally told him I just needed the key and it wasn't on the wall so gave me key to other truck. The initial approval process should have happened prior to the time of pick up on the website because then I had to wait for 2 phone calls to alternative contacts. System should be seemless and not these extra steps to jump through.Bryan F.

The new building is impressive in layout and the Interior spaces are designed well too. The freight elevator works well and it can hold several large pieces of furniture. Absolutely horrible experience. Pods were late to arrival, were suppose to be delivered but after calling and setting that up, it wasn't actually scheduled. Called back, and no one could find that except my call record and new address for them to be dropped off at. Belongings inside were scratched and heavily shifted, told on the phone we had to give the Uhaul Delivery location in Denver 24 hours notice before accessing our Pods when this was never told to us; we were told we could access our belongings at anytime since we're renting them, lie storage units. Location in Denver is incredibly unsafe!! Every time I I call Uhaul, they transfer me at least to 4 different people and my call gets lost and goes to the automated main menu. I'm so so disappointed with Uhaul, will never work with them again and never refer them to anyone.Vanessa M.

Reserving a storage space @ this location was a nightmare. When I called them, the calls were always redirected to a national call center. The national call center said there were no space available in the entire state of VT. I called several times trying to talk to someone @ the Williston location to see if any units might be coming available but was never able talk to someone there. The calls were always redirected to the national call center. I called the national call center again & requested the Williston location call me. I never received a call back. After trying, for several days, to reach someone @ the Williston location, I decided to call a different U-Haul location in Williston and to my surprise someone picked up. She informed me a new facility had just opened up in Williston, but I needed to talk to that facility to reserve a storage unit. She gave me their phone number and as usual I could not get through to them. I was finally able to reserve a unit by connecting with someone @ the national call center. I received an email confirming I had a unit reserved. A few days later, I got an email, from U-Haul, indicating I cancelled my reservation, which I did not! I tried, again, to reach the Williston location to let them know I planned on keeping my reservation but, as always, I couldn't reach anyone there. I was redirected to the national call center. They couldn't see that I had even reserved a unit, let alone they cancelled it. Fortunately, I was able to reserve another unit. I tried to reach Williston on my trip to VT from NC because I noticed the day I was to return the U-Haul truck was a day off. Couldn't reach them. The calls were directed to the national call center several times. I was able to get the return date corrected. I asked them when Williston location closed, they said 7 pm. We got the truck unloaded @ the Williston location around 6:30 pm. When I went to give them the truck key, the office was locked. I was told they closed @ 4 pm even though the hours posted said they close @ 7 pm. There were many other problems with renting the U-Haul truck as well. Not a good experience all around. The manager is very nice and accommodating. He switched my unit to one a little closer to the door. However I am having issues with the door closing. ***Also a big problem was that there are or were PODS placed right in front of the entrance sliding door and also they were taking up value parking spaces right in front. I except to be able to park near the door and not have pods placed there. I had a really hard time trying to open the door to my unit and had to ask another customer for help. The door slide could use some DW40. Otherwise, all was good. The young gentleman who helped us out had his hands full while I and five other customers were waiting for service, as he was the only staff on site.
