I unfortunately did not have a great experience with UHAUL. This was my first time personally utilizing the service. Reserving the truck online was easy and the truck itself was clean and had no mechanical issues. I was however, surprised that the 10' truck I rented did not have a pull out ramp. I would expect that anything bigger than a van would have a ramp. I was moving furniture and other large items, and a ramp would have been helpful, as we were using a dolly cart. The greatest issue however, was the passive-aggressive customer service I received with one of the UHUAL employees. He seemed very nonchalant about his work. I asked whether I could add a second driver for the UHAUL (what I assume would be a common question) and he said no. His response was so flat/impersonal that I wasn't sure if he was joking (deadpan comedy) or being serious. Though a bit let down for logistical reasons, that I could not add a second driver, I proceeded with the reservation. Upon returning the truck, the same employee who had checked me in claimed that my friend had been driving when we returned, which was not true! I was most offended because we had just gone over the fact that my friend could not be added as a driver. So, to state that she was driving, insinuated that I went against UHAUL's terms. This same UHAUL worker was also making sarcastic remarks to another employee while I was present, which was very uncomfortable to watch. To wrap up, overall my service issues were due to the poor in-person costumer service and no driver flexibility on who can drive the truck. Some customers would be willing to pay more money to have that option.KEITHIA T.

When we picked up the van it only had 61.0 miles on it, returned it with 87.0, the uhaul employee logged in as 870 miles and my credit card was charged $333.40. The correct amount of $58.77 was also approved and added on my card. I was told the incorrect amount of $333.40 would be canceled, as of today it's still showing approved, no sign of a reverse charge. Please improve on accuracy when vehicles are being returned,so no one has to go through the extras to have this removed from their card. Especially after 4 days of moving.FLOYD M.

My movers said that the 20' truck we rented yesterday is the same we rented before and they had major issues with the dashboard becoming detached from the floor and extremely hot air blowing into the cab from the floor. No where in the pricing did I see I was paying for gas, there was the $19.99 for the truck, $14 for insurance and .79 per mile which was about $45 and then at the end I got charged ANOTHER $18 for gas out of no where. I was really mad I never saw anywhere that was part of the price. $18 makes a huge difference considering the truck itself was $19 and I paid the .79 a mile. What's the point then?Sarah J.
I called the U-haul 800 number to reserve a unit at a facility that had a 1st floor unit available. I had to go to a location further away but was assured by the representative that a 1st floor unit had been reserved for me at this location. When i showed up at the facility I was told that I was being given a 2nd floor unit. I explained that I had spoken with a rep through the Uhaul 800 number and had been assured I was reserving a 1st floor unit. The owner basically told me I was out of luck and she had no 1st floor units available. I was utilizing a 1 month free offer based on a 1 way truck rental so i believe this lady (I did not get her name but her shirt said "owner") didn't want to give me a 1st floor unit since i was only using it for a month. On top of that, she was rude. I have 3 kids in college at Ohio State and have been, will be for the next several years, will need to rent trucks and storage facilities in Columbus to move them in and out of apartments and store their furniture in the summer months. In the beginning I had a good experience with the uhaul staff. I caught Corona virus back in late March. I was so sick I had forgotten to pay the storage fee for April. I was feeling better and able to talk so I called to let the staff know what was going on around mid April and I paid the same day. Also this is my first missed payment. I haven't been to the storage unit since I've put my Things in there. I paid for the month of May on time. On May 29th I come to retrieve my things from storage, because I didn't need the unit anymore and my key doesn't Fit The Lock. I tell the staff no one knows why and says they can't help me. I had to pay $100 for a lock Smith to remove the lock. Im not stupid I know One of uhaul staff members changed my lock because of my late payment in April and they never changed my lock back. The Manager said he doesn't have any notes or keys for my unit. I know They didn't have any more red tags so they used a different lock to keep me out. There's no way my key shouldn't have worked. I understand being locked out for non payment but when I paid, it should've been fixed or uhaul staff should've took the lock off instead of me having to pay a lock Smith for a problem I didn't create. The staff was disrespectful the day we went to remove all of our belongings and close out our month. We ran in to an issue with them not having a utility dolly for us to use but we had been charged for one, and did not try to help us in any way to find a solution. All they did was laugh in our face and told us to figure it out. I was really disappointed and upset that I reached out to uhaul customer service while in store and they worked to help us find a dolly nearby at another location and we were able to complete our move out.
