RITA GTrain your installers how to make proper electrical connections(butt splice fell apart after one week). After looking under the car the wire he added at the battery was hanging to the ground under half the car. I am not impressed.
Richard DMentioned to the person I turned my truck in to that I only had 6 furniture pads instead of 12 and exploded the situation. He told me that he would completely remove the charge for the pads. Excellent service and friendly people!

WILLIAM HThe auto transport brake system was smoking after eight hours of hauling. It was a heavy diesel SUV that I was transporting, but I would check the passenger side brake system on the auto transport.
MICHAEL FThe truck needs work, I felt unsafe using it during my trip as it would hesitate to shift in lower gears and would take a long time to shift to get up to speed after slowing down. Being at 160k miles it is expected however it should be fixed due to being a rented vehicle and someone life could be at risk especially going on the highway

SCOTT PAgain picked up a truck with only a 1/4 tank of gas- the counter guy said it's a uhaul policy that as long as there is at least 1/4 tank- uhaul doesn't top it off. I think uhaul should only distribute trucks with at least 3/4 of a tank! Plus it would be nice if there was a garbage can outside so when we return vehicles can throw trash away

MATTHEW GThe pick up was amazing, very nice, got a larger truck and he was awesome. The return not so much, was no room in the return line so parked in a different area. The guy said way did you not park it in the return line. I told him if I parked in the one line I would be blocking the entrance. The other line I would be blocking the only entrance to the parking area. He was getting irritated and snappy so I said I will move it after looking at the computer he said he would take car me of it. Maybe if they would actually check the trucks back in there would be room for the 26 foot truck. Again the guy in the morning was awesome. The guy in the afternoon needs to learn some customer service and look at things before he speaks.

JOHN SJust a comment on the vehicle: Though a newer vehicle, loved it but the running boards are so narrow we were very careful how we positioned our feet to climb in and out. dangerous. Also, would be more comfortable if seats had an inner arm rest. TY

Dennis TPicked up a 15' Truck from this site to move a piece of furniture from Ashley's to my home. The guy there looked like he was dying from heat or over working. I knew I was going to drive 30 miles or less. Uhaul hands you a truck with an empty tank. It was less than a quarter. When I picked the furniture up, I put in 3 gallons of gas from Sams club gas station near Ashley's. After I dropped the furniture, I returned the truck. When I went inside, I saw the same guy. He was in a worse shape than when I picked the truck up. I usually stay there to check out and get the receipt. But this time, I wanted to give this guy some slack and I did not want to rush him because there were other customers in the store. So, I left. When I went home, I received the receipt. He charged me more than $48 dollars for gas ($30 service fee + $18 for 4 gallons of gas). I tried to call but no one picked up. So, I went back to the store, the guy was rude and pretty much told me that you are lying. I showed him pictures of the dashboard from when I picked the truck up. He stormed out of the store like a crazy maniac to get a picture of the gas gauge and came back saying, yes, you did not return it as how it was when you picked it up. He said he cannot change anything and I'll have to come back the next day to see the manager. So, it is their fault and he wants me to keep driving back and forth to the store to fix their mistake. On the top of that, he added more miles than what I used. I drove 28 miles and he charged me for 34. Uhaul is scamming their customers by charging "fuel service fee" even though they do not fill up the gas tank after you return the vehicle. When I went back, the vehicle was parked ready for another customer. No cleaning and no fueling! I should mention that the vehicle was not safe to drive. The steering wheel was very loose.
OMAR AI did the return myself so I can't really share my experience. There was a lot of photo requirement so just be ready to take lots of pics when doing a self return.

Kenny CMy ordeal with Uhaul started when I reserved a trailer in Erie PA. I live in Hamilton Ohio. After that I got an email saying I needed to get a hitch inspection. I spent 2 days trying to get an inspection before my 5 hour trip to Erie PA. Every place I called said I could just get it done up in Erie when I pick it up. I had to explain to each person that I needed the inspection BEFORE I made a 5 hour trip to get the rental . This seemed absolutely mindless that they were saying this. I went to Hamilton erie rd location and they said they could not do it, then they said I could check Northgate location. I then asked if they could call and check for me. They were on the phone about 10 minutes trying to get a person because the phone menu system was an impediment. When I went to Northgate they said they only checked with a wiring checker and the day of my trip the running lights were not working. I had to get the wiring on my vehicle fixed the same day as my trip due to this delay which was very stressful. When picking up the trailer in Erie PA my pickup time was scheduled at 1pm but I wanted to get there earlier as I found out the banks were closing. When I went there at 10:30 they said there was no trailer person there and I couldn't get it then I had to wait an hour in a half which inconvenienced myself and a person I was buying a vehicle from. I did not see anywhere on website or my emails that said that trailer pickup was only available at certain times during the store hours!!
alan cThis has happened several times to me - so I finally wanted to say something about this. I understand that we have to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as when we got it - but I REALLY wish we would get vehicles with AT LEAST a 3/4 tank of gas. Many times when I pick up the vehicle it's down to about 1/4 of a tank or less - so the first thing we have to do is go get gas - and it's always hard to estimate how much to put in the vehicle so you end at that low amount (don't want to just give Uhaul extra gas they don't pay for obviously!) PLEASE - top off the trucks before you send them out - or at least 3/4 of a tank! ¡Gracias!

Robert GThe pickup location was fine, but I originally tried to rent from a MUCH closer location, where the truck I wanted was still sitting there when I drove to the further location... I wouldn't mind so much if this was told to me up front, but after putting in the online request for the close location (where there was only one truck--I guess this should have been a red flag), the location was changed by U-Haul cooperate--this feels a bit like like false advertising... Other than that, everything went well and I was pleased with my experience.
Hans HA few things to note. We did not get the size of the truck we reserved. Second, the truck had 120,000+ miles on it, which in and of itself is not a big deal, but the transmission was jerky and unresponsive, making the truck a little more difficult to drive. Lastly, and this is my biggest pet peeve - the dolly strapped to the wall in the rear right of the box is utterly ridiculous. It wastes space and it is a shameless way to get additional revenue. If you remove it to get more pallet and hauling space, it will cost you $7.00. We literally could have made one trip with our stuff, but that infernal dolly placement cost us a second trip. The professional thing to do is to ask your patrons whether they need a dolly when renting the truck rather than store one in the truck and charging if you break the zip tie that holds it in. That bit of lunacy almost makes me NOT want to rent from U-Haul again.
Scott LReserved an early pick-up. Truck was not located where described - took 15 minutes to locate. Key left in key box was for different truck. Had to wait 1.5 hours for store to open to get right key. wasted most of morning because of this and was not able to finish what we needed truck for. Was waste of time and money.

I realized as soon as I got the trailer to my place to load, I'd picked up the wrong type of trailer. It was returned within 2 hours of pick-up, and I rented a different trailer from a new location. I dropped the trailer off, the rep never asked what happened, mind you it was the same person who hooked it up less than 2 hours earlier, and with a flick of the hand sent me on my way and walked off. That I can deal with, but what can not abide is the same location not checking the trailer in until Monday morning, 2 days later, in order to charge me for the extra day, that I didn't have the trailer. Dishonest, at best. U-Haul should do better.

Anjannet GI was given a Uhaul that broke down on the way to drop it off. Had to call for roadside service and wait. Much of my time was wasted. Missed an appointment I needed to get to. And no discount was tendered for all my inconvenience. We are charged for the time we use their equipment...but zero concern for our time and stress of being stranded

My brother in law was receiving money from his mother (my mother in law) to pay the bill. He pocketed and we were unaware. Once we found out and went there with cash to pay it and remove all her items that day they wouldn't even work with us. Her important paperwork was in there. Pictures of her family. I can't imagine that container sold for very much and it was probably less than what we try to pay. I think your employees should remember that the people who rent those are human just like them. Things happen in life that we have no control over. I know the person in charge could of worked with us but instead chose to embarrass us in front of their staff and other customers when we came in. For that reason I will never use or recommend UHaul ever again in my life. If anyone ever wants to try and make right of this please call me 814-853-6230

The main facility was told aug 3 we were clear of the units. Yet they continue to charge me I have been charged 750.00+ dollars even after addressing the issue. Lazy people and don't want to take care of anything. I'm accused of having a lock on the unit it wasn't there when we left yet no one knows where it came from I've told them continuously I have both locks and sets of keys yet they still accuse me. I have been clear since Aug 3. The facility is aware I will go to everything and everyone to get this taken care of. This is getting ridiculous. It's Christmas nothing has been done in all the time I contacted them (which I have all the names, times,dates and run down of conversations when I talk to uhaul about this. It's 750.00 dollars!!!! SOMEONE NEEDA TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF YESTERDAY. ILL NEVER RENT HERE AGAIN
