I was annoyed that all of the arrangements I made was for the box to be placed on the street in front of our house as recommended by our construction manager. All of the notes indicated this. The delivery people, however, refused to do that and said that they had to put it in our driveway. Luckily the driver who delivered the box was very careful. Since the pick up time is known, there should be more people on site to handle the flow. Waiting for a half hour or more when they ask you when to be there at a specific time and they are not available or they don't have the people ready is very disturbing.Peter D.

First off I called to make a reservation and I spoke with a lady by the name of Paige. She was so very welcoming on the phone full of energy enthusiastic. I went to pick up the truck the next morning and graded by two of the nicest team members I've ever met they were down on people they were there by themselves they were so enthusiastic and cheerful. I was told the truck needed to be back at 2pm the next day. I get a call on day of return that it was due back at 11. I had my uncle with up the uhaul with me and he was there as a witness, the young lady said 2pm. The lady that called me on Saturday was rude and said she was charging me another day. I explained the situation, she said the lady who did all the paperwork the day before probably didn't explain correctly but she was still charging me an extra day. Her tone and delivery was so rude and disrespectful. I've had storages here always rented my uhaul from here and have never been treated with more disrespect than I did yesterday.Briana S.

They have a nice big outside area so easy for customer parking and drop off. Two big covered bays with employees really cleaning the cabs and truck beds. I did not have much of a wait for return process; it was fast and efficient. (Mid week); sure weekends get busy. Store was stocked and clean.Leanne H.
My experience started with me making a reservation a week beforehand and U-Haul canceling my order due to a call that never happened. Then I was given a second reservation thru Uhaul Customer Service that was 2 days after my original order date. Pushing my whole move behind 2 days and casing me to miss more work days than intended. AS WELL as the furniture mats I ordered and asked for not being in the rental truck I eventually gotten. Luckily I spoke to a clerk and the pads charge was removed, but the multiple lapses left a very fowl taste in my mouth with the company.Jeremy H.

So your Westland location had 2 women working when we arrived there to pick up our reserved truck. There was a long line. After waiting in the line for about a half hour, one of the women working just flipped out and walked out. The one remaining did a phenomenal job keeping things going. My Uhaul experience was rough from the start. I needed a Uhaul box truck at 8am on 8/21 as I had coordinated help moving. I booked a 10 foot box truck from a location in Plymouth that was located less than a mile from the location I was moving from. I booked the 24/7 mobile pickup so I expected no issues. I received a call a day later saying my location needed to change because there would be no box trucks at that location Sunday. Since this call happened 2 days prior I didn't understand why a truck couldn't be transferred and why I as the customer was the one who had to be inconvenienced (not to mention pay 79 cents/mile to drive OUT of my way to pick up and drop off the truck which cost me roughly $10). They originally had found a location 3 miles away with a box truck but wanted to change my reservation to 11am as that location didn't have the 24/7 mobile option. I reiterated that I needed the truck at 8am which is why I'd selected that time when reserving. My reservation was ultimately moved to the Westland location with an 8am mobile pickup. This was out of my way but at least I'd have the truck I need at the time I need it. I arrived at the location at 740am to begin the mobile pickup. When I clicked the â€œpickup my truckâ€ button a message displayed saying my reservation had been converted to hand pickup and I needed to wait until 9am when the location opened. This obviously wasn't acceptable as I'd specifically reserved 8am and had hired people to arrive at 830am to assist with the move. I called the helpline where a message said the estimated wait time for a representative was 15-20 minutes. This was obviously not ideal but I had no other choice but to wait. After waiting on the phone for 30 minutes an automated message said nobody was available but I could leave a message. To say I was furious would be a gross understatement as I'd now been waiting about 35 minutes, it was now 15 minutes PAST my pickup time, and I had people arriving to my house which was 30 minutes away that was costing me money. About 20 minutes later we saw a worker arrive for their shift and said we'd been waiting an hour for our truck and that it was supposed to be 24/7 pickup. We were told there were no trucks available the night before so no key had been left in the mobile pickup for us. So after all the jumping around I did moving locations twice to accommodate Uhaul it turns out they still didn't even have a truck set aside for me. The only positives from this experience was that the truck actually turned on when I turned the key, and the movers were understanding and me wasting 30 minutes of their time sitting outside my house waiting for me to arrive with the truck. If this is how Uhaul operates it's an absolute miracle they've survived being in business over 75 years.Scott S.

The size unit I originally asked for on a specific date was not available. I requested an 8'-10' climate control. Upon arrival I was told they only had a 5'-5" unless I wanted to go to the other facility. Were I had previously had used. A lot of my things were stolen at that location. I rented this unit and never used it one time. I put in my request to cancel the unit and paid my bill in full. I called the office and explained that the unit was never used and was empty and that I had lost the key to cut the lock. I do NOT have access to a car and am disabled. The office staff continued to bill me afer I cancelled the unit. I have made a complaint to the BBB and will be making a complaint about being discriminated against because I am disabled. I have proof that I completed the cancellation request and was paid in full. If someone can call me to fix this I will be happy to withdraw my complaint. 734-833-8603.
