Checked in using the app and my phone, but still had to go inside for the keys. The app said bypass the line and go to the side of the counter and ask for keys, but I was ignored for several minutes. Air conditioning did not work on the truck and it was 87' outside. Loose floor patch in the cargo area that was a potential trip hazard.James D.

We spent a long time trying to use the app to return. The employee saw us outside, even came outside to deal with another customer, but said nothing to us. When we finally came inside, he was just sitting and told us the app never works. It would have saved us a considerable amount of time if he had told us that returning with the app often failed, and just checked us in himself, which he ended up doing anyway. The problem I had that has left a very negative impression with me had nothing to do with the location or equipment or people. The problem was I made a reservation for equipment near my house where was living for my move to new home. I recieved a call 2 hour before my closing and one day before my moving that the truck I reserved was not there. It had been leased out. I had to travel 60 miles round trip and impose on my sister because of the rental being one way in order to get the truck. Not appreciated at all. In fact for this reason I will never recommend U Haul. In fact for future needs will for certain look at the competition first. Good service would have had a truck where I reserved it. Was told we would receive an email stating equipment was received and a final receipt. Nothing indicating that the trailer was returned has been sent and upon driving by location next day the trailer was still in the return aisle. Will be extremely upset if we are charged a late fee due to negligence. In addition, there was broken glass everywhere in the return aisle.Matthew G.
Please maintain the equipment before it gets sent to the next guy. I had issues with the ratcheting mechanism on the tow dolly. I was aware of a brake light/turn signal light out on the trailer but told the person helping me that this would not be a problem since I was using magnetic lights mounted on the vehicle I was towing. Still, I fought with the ratcheting mechanisms even after using penetrating oil to free them up. This is something that should be checked before the equipment ever leaves U-Haul.James Z.

Truck with tires without acceptable tread depth. I parked over grass and the truck got stuck because the truck didn't have traction at all. I called U-Haul for roadside assistance and I was offered a $350 service. I ended up calling local towing service because the U-Haul service cost was excessive. all this could have avoided if the truck would have had tires with tread depth and tractionDarwin O.

The only shining star was the gentleman that assisted me when I actually got the truck. An improvement would be for there NOT be an option to pick up the vehicle outside of store hours. I and my daughter were left to stand in the cold for over an hour, even though my reservation clearly stated I was to pick up at 8 AM. I had called the day before to clarify details, was given wrong information. . .and couldn't get a truck at the given time the next morning. I called the 800 number and was told my only other option was to go to another location. Why would I have to go to another location and pay the extra mileage, when the truck that I RESERVED 2 days prior, set to pick up by my mobile phone. . .and the app didn't work??? And why, when I called, outside in about 15 degrees, could the person at the 800# not do anything? Just like, tough shit, deal with it. TWICE, we called the 800#. I would give UHAUL a 0 out of 100. The facility installed new locks without consulting the renters first. When the lock that they provided failed, I was told, without apology, to hire and pay for a locksmith to remove the lock I didn't want. I was ultimately forced to arrange for the lock to be removed. I understand that in most cases, storage unit rental is fully transactional. If you are storing at their facility, make sure you get a keyed lock if your unit is outdoors. The staff member who helped us was excellent: well-trained, helpful, courteous, and efficient. The only downside of this facility is that you have to pay extra to use the storage facility after hours. On one particular occasion, I used the uhaul restroom provided. At this time, I noticed a planter with artificial flowers on the floor in the corner with a clean roll of necessary toilet paper. As I reached down for the roll, the artificial flowers fell out of the planter. I saw something glossy in the bottom of the planter. It was a used crack pipe! After finishing in the bathroom, I and my fiancé showed the pipe to the uhaul rep on duty. The rep said he would throw it away. The crew allowed me time to chase down a bad ground wire. Then they suggested I check the trailering fuse of which there was not one. The manager gave me one from his personal parts. Had to sweep out the unit. Lots of leaf debris and some spider webs as would be expected for a drive up unit. Pallets and rodent trap were placed in the unit as standard, but the pallets were dirty and I was concerned about potential for bugs in them. When I moved them, spiders crawled out. My first interaction with UHAUL (after it bought out the storage company) was a threatening letter which stated that they were going to sell everything in my storage locker immediately - because my credit card number had changed and the automatic payment did not go through. More recently, when it was time to move out, I showed up at my locker one evening to find a second lock installed, with a note to go by the office to get the key for it. The office was already closed, so I could not access my things. I had not been notified that a new lock had been installed.
