I have rented Uhaul's 10+ times all with the app and I struggle to see why I need to be additionally vetted at the time of pick-up. If this really needs to be done, can it be done in advance so that the people I have helping me move are not left waiting?

Brent RI've had couple of issues at this location. First time I rented, the original mileage had been recorded incorrectly. Luckily I had a photo to prove what the starting mileage was. That would have been fine, except that I just rented a second time and upon return, I was told I had damaged the car, which I had not. The representative said she had personally remembered that car having no damage before I rented. I asked to see the photos before the car was rented to me, and initially she showed me a low resolution photo that was too poor in quality to see anything. After some time, she finally pulled up high resolution photos and indeed confirmed that the damage was there before I rented, but it hadn't been marked. I was very relieved, but also this was a very bad experience because I could have potentially had to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for something I had not done. The person was too quick to claim that she had personally seen the car before I had rented it and that it had been fine. I understand mistakes happen, but before assuming a customer has done damage, please check your records first at least. Now I have to take photo and video evidence every time I rent a U-Haul, something I thought I only needed to do for rental cars.

COLIN LZack and the other employees at this location are great! They are always helpful, friendly, and help answer any questions or solve any problems I have. This is how all businesses should treat their customers! I just wish other customers would stop running into the overhead doors and breaking them so Zack and his team don't have to keep fixing them. :<)

I understand that you don't know the final cost until after the truck is returned, but there's such a a large difference between the advertised $30 for the truck compared to the final price of over $100 that it leaves a bad taste in your month.
EVAN KZach Newbrough is the reason we decided to rent from this facility. He is professional, friendly and he answered all of our questions. He's very organized and detail-oriented as well. We will highly recommend this location and are glad we decided to stop by.

GEARY MEasy to get to. I would put up a sign that says "Vehicle Drop Location." It did have a sign that said "Equipment Drop Off" but I didn't consider a vehicle the same as equipment.

PAUL BThe manager of this location, Zach, is amazing. I had a horrific experience with Budget Truck Rental over Labor Day weekend, and Zach saved me. I reserved a truck online with Budget from St. Paul MN. I drove down to the Des Moines area to get my truck for a last big move of my belongings to St. Paul. Family and friends had all reserved our Labor Day weekend for this. I showed up at Budget with my reservation printed out and ready to go. They informed me that - although yes, I had reserved a truck -- they didn't have any trucks to rent all weekend. The dispute with Budget went on for entire day and a half, with them giving me a million ridiculous excuses and blaming it on me because I reserved the truck online and didn't call to confirm that they actually had trucks. In defeat, I showed up at U-Haul on Labor Day just to unload a few things from my storage unit that would fit in my car. Zach happened to be at the front desk. Zach, you are my superman. You went above and beyond the call of duty to help me secure a truck so I could empty out my storage unit. I cannot say enough about the lengths that Zach went to to ensure that I had a stellar customer experience. My advice? Forget Budget. Go directly to U-Haul (and Zach in West Des Moines!).

Had to move my kid to college so I needed the 20 foot van. I go to the place and they didn't have it. They gave it to somebody else. That I think is unprofessional and you need to have a better way to hold reservations, because what is a reservation for then?.

When I returned the vehicle I was told that they were too busy to check it in, I was to leave the keys and they would email the receipt in 30 minutes, that was 7 hours ago and I still don't have a receipt. MORE STAFF PLEASE!
Tracy PI have been very fortunate to have always had a great experience with U-Haul rentals. The equipment is clean and maintained to high standards and the individuals working at the locations I have used have always been very friendly and helpful. I have no reason to ever use any other vehicle rental service than U-Haul.

Emily FI don't understand why there's a charge for each mile and then also a charge for not filling up the tank?? Makes no sense when a rental with a base price of $20 turns into over $45 without any add-ons it's ridiculous. Plus an environmental fee of $1 at the end as if a punishment for renting a truck from Uhaul in the first place? Obviously not the location's fault but I wouldn't recommend renting from Uhaul at all.

On paper it says at the top "after-hours return of equipment will require a $20 fee if you need a person" but below it just says "$20 fee for after-hours return of equipment". Also I was unsure about if I have to sign that paper I was given up on renting the box truck? There's a place for my signature but no instructions to sign or submit the document. Also was not informed there would be a $50 hold on my account. Would have done this on a weekday if I knew about that and was able to talk to an employee and simply have them take a look and verify and remove the hold immediately. Also I rented for 4 hours but it said I needed to return earlier than that. Like 15 minutes or 30. I returned it exactly at 4 hours, but the check-in of the truck took a very long time, if I am feed for this I will be upset.

I spoke to the employee on duty and she immediately gave me another truck which was great. She took care of the problem and I was on my way.

Also, while driving there was a wind draft noise that was disturbing even though no windows were down. Driving this Vehicle wasn't a great experience. It was inconvenient. The employees were understanding and helpful but it didn't help with the challenge I had throughout my rental period.

Khompan O | Overall ExperienceThe staff parks the uhauls and equipment in the main floor bay, blocking entrance to units. During inclement weather, the staff will park their cars inside the main bay. Staff is rude and the manager is even worse. She is confrontational and condescending! The rate a high and to pay them and get that kind of customer service is not with it. I have expressed my disappointment with U-Haul on all my social media and have spread the word in person. What is even more disappointing is that I am not the only customer past and present who have expressed the same concerns I did. I have now left the facility and will not be returning!!

I am claustrophobic and don't ride elevators and my stuff was moved to a another floor (while they are "fixing something"), that is not accessible by a stairwell (against Iowa Code). I have no idea how long I wont be able to get to my stuff as "no-one knows how long there "repairs" will take" 3 times I have had to move now....
