Edward R.15' van wasn't ready at scheduled time of pickup. Staff provided 17' van three hours later. Staff was friendly but lacked a sense of urgency and appeared under staffed. Long, slow lines delayed the overall process as well. No significant issues with the van but it just rode pretty rough.

We were pleasantly surprised that we were only charged for the one day we actually needed it for. Great service even though they were short staffed.
renee S.Give more than 51 miles going from Vacaville to Sacramento. And make sure your representatives give dollies and blankets when customers have paid for them. The trucks dash brake lights & sensor kept going on. And the truck jerked as though the engine was not getting fuel. This truck needs maintenance.

linda S.I made a reservation two months in advance for a 4x8 enclosed trailer. I did not get a 4x8 when I went to pick it up. I was switched to a 5x8 which was a lot taller and caused me to use more gas then I planned for. I made the reservation that far in advance so I could get the trailer I asked for. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and willingness to get me what I reserved. I was told I could go to San Rafeal to get it at day if pickup. If it was in San Rafael why was it not moved to Vacaville so I could have it???? No accommodations were made for me it was basically take it or leave it. Very disappointed.

Harry V.I reserved a 6X12 Trailer 5 days in advance and guaranteed at the first location for pickup at 07:00am, Upon arrival the lady said that they did not have it, and that she let the manager know the day prior that they were not going to have one, no courtesy message or text was sent to me, in order to adjust my plans. I went to a second UHaul location and didn't have one either, and I Needed to move my son out of his apartment in Sacramento and move him to UC Santa Cruz location, so I reserved a Cargo Van, because of my sons Queen size bed. I also called corporate and spoke to Summer, to file a complaint, she talked with someone and said that they can offer me s $40.00 discount, but, that would not be sufficient for a compensation, the fact, I wouldI have to pay for the rental at $.79 cents per mile, would be difficult, compared the the price of the 6X12 Trailer. Summer said that they can do $.29 cents per mile, and I asked Summer is that information in the system, and will I have a problem when I go pick up my Cargo Van, she said no, and it was in the system, upon arrival at yhe 2nd UHaul location, they said that there was no notes. And the lowest would be $.39 cents per mile. 2 Agreements we're broken by UHaul, I'm still pending final charges. The Van was Dirty, the windows was dirty. And There was a Large bundled Clump of long hair in the side of the drivers door. Unsatisfactory, if I can give the worst rating for an poorly run Company. I would. I've never had this problem in my past rentals with UHaul. Why have your prior outstanding standards change, understanding, that these are private companies, they should be inspected for quality control.

Antrell B. | First ImpressionsThe facility and employees were great. I didn’t need much assistance while I was storing my belongings there but when I did staff was very helpful. My only complaint is that there isn’t much parking for the storage units. On several occasions I needed access to the loading dock area to unload or load my vehicle and there wouldn’t be any parking spots available and it seemed like the building was empty of tenants as there was no noise from people and the motion lights would be off. Wish there was more parking . That was the only downside. There was always plenty of little push carts available so that was nice.

I recently made a reservation to pick up a moving truck in Boise Idaho and drive to California to empty out a storage container that I have been renting for over 15 years, and then drive the truck back to Kansas. The original reservation had me scheduled to drop the truck off in Lincoln Nebraska. When I picked the truck up in Boise it was not clean (inside or out), an ashtray full of cigarette butts, garbage under the seats, etc., and had less than 1/4 tank of fuel. When me and my 82 year old stepfather emptied out the u haul storage unit in Vacaville California the electronic doors were broken, making it very difficult to navigate large heavy items through a single hinged door. I called the 1-800 number today to inquire about options for returning the moving truck to Salina Kansas Vs Lincoln Nebraska and the Uhaul Representative was callus and provided no friendly customer service, only comments that she would "mark my contract" to ensure I would be charged maximum penalties. When did customer service become an experience that leaves customers feeling taken advantage of and betrayed by the very business that they have been loyal to for decades ?

I strongly recommend this facility over any other u-haul. Very negative experience with 3 other u-hauls in the local area. I was very pleased to find out that they are independent of each other.

During our use of the unit, we had no problem entering, when we needed to, everything has been clean and when having contact with the staff, they have always been friendly and helpful.

Herbert A. | Overall ExperienceWe had two storage units for about 4 years. After the second year we wanted one larger unit. We supposedly were placed on a list. Despite checking several times over the next couple of years, we were told there were none available. We saw at least three units with tags on them so I asked again to be laughed at and told there was a list and they would have the manager put us on the list. That night I found a storage unit at another facility and the next day someone from uhaul called and there was a unit magically available. Issue number two, which is actually the much bigger issue, are the people hanging out in the upstairs with bikes and backpacks. We were there at night moving out of our locker and three people with bikes and backpacks left the facility at 6:45pm but when we came back in the morning, those same people were back upstairs. There were several people just hanging around the facility, I did not feel safe going there by myself. People would also wait outside and follow people in when they used their key card. Issue three is the wait time. It took a very long time to be helped
