At this location, staff extorts renters into buying insurance. They say you must pay for all of the damage when you return the vehicle, and it usually is thousands of dollars. I have rented here many times and I hear it every time. I don’t know if they get a cut for convincing us to buy it, but I already have insurance as a professional business. They repeat it several times each visit. I believe extortion is illegal, and the Florida Department of Consumer Services has been contacted. What kind of business extorts money? If you are unable to perform a service using the systems and institutions in place, i.e. my insurance, then I will take my business elsewhere and make sure everyone knows about the extortion of $10.

Get your input program fixed so that it works like something from the 21st century. They could not input info because there was a blank space when every program out there would ignore the issue. The birth day input is a joke too. Hire a better programmer. Other then that, it could not have gone smoother. Very quick check out was great.

The vehicle was in good working condition, but was not clean. The previous user had obviously spilled some sticky liquid all over the dash that was never cleaned up. The inside of the windshield had also had a suction device attached to it, and there were multiple rings all across the middle. These were minor inconveniences, but it made the experience of driving the vehicle much more inconvenient. Had I been driving further, I would have come back to ask for a different van or to have that one cleaned properly.

My experience was overall just OK. The cargo van hadn't been wiped clean on the interior (the dashboard area was all dusty) and bug spatter was all over the exterior glass. I knew that I was renting a cargo van and not a luxury car, but I drive a cargo van of my own and it is always spotless on the outside. I take pride in my work and tools and expect that the tools I rent, be it a floor stripper or a work vehicle, are clean and in proper working order. This van worked fine but was dirty.

Not showroom clean but certainly good enough fir what I was using it for.....my overall opinion is that I like the store and the staff was courteous and friendly and the trucks are ok. I have rented a couple times from here and had great luck with vehicles, but this last time I was very disappointed. The 15’ box truck was terrible and had bad pulsation and pulling on highway. I would highly recommend a front end alignment for this truck. The only other complaint would be the drivers side door which was difficult to open and made very loud noises opening & closing!!!!

Wow! I've been using Uhaul for many, many years now. The past 3 or 4 times however, they did not have my "reserved" vehicle available, & it upset me so much, I was NEVER going to use Uhaul again. (However, The Corporate office took knowledge of my concerns & did what was needed to "make things right")!! Today, I picked up a "reserved" vehicle & was VERY pleased to see that it was available & waiting for me! The Agent was wonderful as well! Last time I had issues, a lot of them were due to the Managers poor attitude towards myself & other customers. He's no longer there, & an amazing group of agents were truly outstanding! It's nice to know, if a customer complains about service provided, that the Corporate office actually takes the time to not only listen to the customer, but also makes the appropriate changes, to provide the customer service we all want & expect. Thank You!!!

I have a U-haul 2 blocks from my home. The idiots spelled my name wrong so the e-mail notification was a "zippo". I stopped by to check my wiring hookup and was told the trailer was at another location 6 miles away. All my logistics was going up in smoke. I stopped by there and was told that that was incorrect and the pick up time was 12 noon not 7 am as I ordered. That pick up location was 12 miles south of the city! Your scheduling system is third world!!!! BY CHANCE I DISCOVERED THE MISTAKE. Otherwise, my helpers would have been waiting at the wrong location and I would have been clueless. I live in venice 34293. And having to drive 17 miles to pick up a truck to do an in city move is crazy and to pay for tose miles when you were originally set to pick up at another location. Thsre should be some sort of compensation twoards the extra mileage.

I didn't want to review until I tried resolved an over charge but because this location has not answered the phone or responded to an email I'm moving forward with the review. I rented a truck for one day. Drove it nine miles. Returned it with no problems and was charged $30.80. Two days later I received an invoice via email for an additional days rental $20.57.. My credit card on file had been charged without my authorization! I called the location but no one would answer. I then responded to the email with the invoice as directed. No response there either. I had to call the 800 number to get a response. They issued a dispute for the charges. I am very uncomfortable that they took it upon themselves to charge my card at will. Now I have to wait for a decision to credit my funds? I would not recommend using this facility. Over charging at will and not answering the phone or email is questionable & incredibly bad customer service.

I’m not trying to be rude or negative in anyway but not one of those 1500 size GMC trucks have been clean not what I would say really clean and all of them stink of cigarettes. That’s not any of the employees fault it’s just one of those things. I’m not sure what’s going on with everyone of those trucks that I’ve rented but all of them kind of shutter what I mean is the engines don’t idle very well when you’re sitting at a light it’s almost like they’ve got bad gas in them ? I’ve been popping them off with premium 93 and it seems to help. I don’t think the GMC trucks are really that hot. And I have to believe you can get a much better deal on Dodge Rams 1500 s

I was impressed by the location’s appearance and the availability of vehicles. I could not recommend it to a friend however. The problem was the picking up of the vehicle. I was told over the phone during the reservation that I would need to use the U-Haul app to unlock the vehicle since it wouldn’t be available until 8:15pm. No problem, I use apps all day. I was assured the truck would be really available at 8:15 since my use was time sensitive. I arrived at the location at 8:10, having already downloaded the app and ready to follow instructions. My first attempt to do this resulted in the app giving me a message that I couldn’t pick the truck up through the app and would need a “counter pickup”. The next attempt resulted in the app telling me I’d need to go to a different location in Sarasota 5 miles away to pick up my vehicle. WHAT? I called customer service and spoke to Keela, who was FANTASTIC! But even with her much appreciated assistance, it took OVER ONE HOUR for us to get the vehicle unlocked and me on my way an hour late. And I had a real reservation with a real confirmation number! I don’t understand how this could happen, with me needing to log out and re-log into both the app and the U-Haul website. Luckily my phone had enough charge to get through this but it really turned what should have been a simple transaction into an event that caused my mood to go from a 9.5 to a 2. My rating of this rental and U-Haul in general declined similarly. Oh, and the truck had less than 1/2 a tank of gas when I picked it up too.

I talked to a young man Sat and he gave me quotes for a truck and car hauler for mid June. He was nice and jovial. I picked up the motorcycle trailer Sunday and no problems. Upon return the man that came out to unhook was not very nice. He unhooked and dropped on the ground and walked away talking. I said I can't hear you . He turned and said your all done. I think it was Jose. Not all sure tho.

At time of return I was told that since all my information was in the system I could just leave and the final charges would be e-mailed to me. I just checked my e-mailed receipt and see that I returned the pick-up truck after driving 22 miles. I put three gallons of gas in the truck and returned it and was charged an additional $28.12 for EZ Fuel Sales!! Am I misunderstanding something here?? I will be calling today to get this straightened out!

I was told I had a free month s storage but didn't get it because it was on the second floor check before you book a storage unit . If it is on the second floor you have to haul it on your own .

Access to storage rooms is limited, must open large garage door, if trucks are not in the way. The only alternative is to go through the main store with cart. Not user friendly at all.
