Location was fine, but I am VERY disappointed with UHAUL as a company, I will never use them again, and I will actively deter anyone I know from using UHAUL.James R.
Rental van was covered in 3â€ of snow, and had all season tires that where close to replacement. Service from staff was efficient but not personable. I don't require people to bend over backwards with customer service, but I do expect that, if you are working at a job, you make eye contact, smile and thank your customer for their business. On a positive, the person I met when dropping off rental, at the same location was very good.FONTAS K.
Using the app was a failed experiment. The app said I should "pick up my truck from the account dashboard", but there was no such option. If I arranged for a time before staff were on site, I would have been unable to get the vehicle! Good thing the staff on site quickly got me going, but the app left a real bad impression on me. A day before I left, they said they didn't have 10 footers and told me I could drive to Prince Albert and pick up a 10'. They gave me a 26 footer instead, but the tires were basically bald. Basically no tread/grip, and expected me to drive in icy/snowy conditions. I had to drive 800k and we slipped slided the whole way almost hitting the ditch and dying every 30 minutes. Change your tires unless you want people dying using your equipment in the winter. These vehicles would not even pass inspection.Caleb B.

This Millar location was able to salvage what was going to be a terrible day. I had made a U-Haul reservation online at a different location, AJ's Salvage, for 9am Monday morning counter pickup. AJ's website says they open at 8am. I show at 8:45am, no one there. 9am and still no one to open the office. There are now a half dozen other people waiting, all in various degrees of frustration and confusion. By 9:20am I could wait no longer. I had a very small window of time to do things that day and his ineptitude was eating into it. I phone the Millar U-Haul location and the gentleman 8n the phone was very helpful and reserved me truck for when I arrived. I managed to get the move done but not without extra costs and headaches. I used way more mileage than I would have, plus instead of being 2 blocks from my daughters school to pick her up at 3pm, I'm stranded way out in the north industrial area and had to take a $20 uber to pick her up, an hour late, thanks to AJ's. Millar location did a good job, but it wasn't enough to change an overall horrible expierence. U-Haul should take note of who is the face of their company. I won't be renting from any Uhaul location after this and will share this bad expierence with whoever I can.Andrew C.
fuel on the gas gauge was incorrect. I spoke to your employee and he pretty much didn't care . claimed it was at half I indicated it was below half . i took pictures he said it was close enough .... your fuel system is terrible. have the truck full when I pick it up and I will return it full cant use a gas gauge as have been a small variation could be up to 30 dollars in fuel.... i am sure this is not the first time this has come through.... its easy for me because I wont be backwilliam K.

The first gentleman i dealt with was difficult and not very good with customer service. I had my credit card on file and i thought i could just tap to confirm payment with my phone. Sadly i could not. He expected me to drive back 45 minutes to get my card. I was lucky my buddy had a card on him. There was no mention anywhere i saw to ensure my card was with me due to no tap. The gentleman in the evening was much easier to deal with. He explained things so much better to me. His customer service was amazing. Moving is stressful enough nevermind having to deal with someone who seemed to be bothered that he was working on a Saturday and would rather be anywhere but there. The evening gentleman was happy to be at work, treated me like a valuable customer. He deserves all the praise.Tammy B.

The manager isn't very pleasant when I talked with him over the phone I don't understand why a government SGI issue temporary drivers license wasn't adequate for a rental of the truck we needed a piece of paper with other I'd wasn't good enough without a picture ? It's what the government protocol is til the new one comes how about you folks get on the reality train and go by the rule of that provinces guidelines dummy up also the staff aren't very nice to deal with kinda snobby and act like robots otherwise it was ok..James J.

Have the truck cleaned and disinfected.. I foundation open diaper rash cream container, used. I also found food behind the seats, dirt and debris in the box of the truck and the truck was only 3/4 filled with fuelJohn Y.

The original truck I was assigned did not have an up to date commercial inspection done on it. The gentleman I was dealing with kept pushing me to take it â€œand just make sure to drive nicely and no one will stop youâ€, â€œchances are you won't get stoppedâ€. I hold a commercial drivers license and if I would have been stopped, it would have been my fine and my demerit points, never mind the repercussions I would face at work. It was a very unprofessional experience. However, after further pushing, the gentleman â€œwould see if they have a different truck available but there are no â€œguaranteesâ€ â€œ, and it turned out there was another available truck they switched me to. When I returned the truck, the unit that was missing the commercial truck inspection was being returned at the same time by someone else, so they still sent the truck out without the proper, updated, inspection. Commercial inspection requirements exist for a reason.Justine Y.

When I booked my uhaul I thought I would get the specific uhaul I selected, but instead was informed 48 hours prior to pickup that my trailer was not available. I had to downgrade to a smaller trailer. When I arrived to pick up this trailer, it wasn't available until 45 minutes after my selected pick up time. The experience was frustrating and made my move significantly more complicated and inconvenient, namely because I couldn't fit all my stuff into the smaller trailer. After reaching the destination the storage that was allotted to us, the front access was apparently under construction and they only gave us one way from the back which was way too small that no item could go through. Needed a space for a time, moving location was not ready. Offered an 8'x10' space (I rented a 26' truck for a reason). Nothing larger available. Worker was rude, not accommodating. Front line staff were unfriendly and dismissive. Witnessed customers being kept on hold for 10 min plus. Very rude phone edicate. Unhelpful, unformative and absent. Front couter is obstructed with items for sale which forces you into tight "stalls" Didn't feel valued at all. Would not recommend this location to anyone with better options. When you arrange a call back, call the customer back. When you say that the "Hitch Pro" is in on a date and will contact the customer, do that. When a customer comes in physically to inquire why they were not called after being promised that contact would be made and arranging multiple dates for contact, do not leave them waiting for a week and then try to avoid them when they call back. And when you have left the customer on hold for 47 minutes, do not try to make up stories shifting blame to a "employee who just quit the day before". Yeah? Funny, I talked to the person in question TODAY, so unless you are in the habit of letting walk outs work just one more shift, that is very obviously a lie and shows how little you respect good faith business, the time and intelligence of your customer. It is unconscionable and ludicrous to claim it has been a five minute hold when your customer, having driven across the city while on hold and is now showing you the timer of the call on hold STILL IN PROGRESS. Do not try to gaslight customers because you have failed to communicate internally and have created a steadily worsening situation. I rated you average but after the UHaul in Prince George scammed us for an extra $40 dollars on top of the $60 for paying in cash (we had to have related parties persue the return of the skimmed monies), I have to say this kind of poor service, lack of professionality and unethical dishonest dodging of responsibility is precisely what I have to expect of Uhaul in recent years. In 2017 I rented a truck in Saskatoon to move my Mother's estate. I returned the truck afterward, and took a picture of the full tank and odometer. I was assessed all sorts of extra charges, and had to fight it all the way up to the regional. I have noticed that your regionals have a very high turn over rate. Can't imagine why. Actually, I can. Your quality control of your franchise holders is obviously incredibly lax or focuses entirely on product display but does little to nothing to regulate the behaviour of those who represent you in the field. Seek to do better please. Luckily, I now have a hitch a trailer so I am very unlikely to require your questionable services in the future. Good luck fixing your brand.Ryan G.

Had to rent a car to get to Saskatoon then pick up available equipment, with the extra distance we had to drive with rental we had an extra $337 charge. We rented a 10 ft truck. When we arrived for pickup, we were given a 20 ft which cost significantly more and we did not need. No one called or mentioned it when I was picking up. Woman at counter advised that the difference would be fixed at drop off. It was not. We were charged full price. Cost twice as much for gas and was still charged extra. Called customer service to discuss and was told that nothing would be done or adjusted as the confirmation email only had the 20 ft truck on it even though the workers at the location readily admitted that it was not what we ordered but what we were stuck with. Very unhappy and will be looking elsewhere going forward. Have used uhaul for everything for the last few years and won't be coming back after thisRobert W.

I was the director of Human Resources in a large corporation, John and his assistants were incredible. They are an asset to the company and what keeps this location operating at peak efficiency. Uhaul main office should support them so they can continue their high standard of operation. I noticed that they could use additional staff on a number of occasions that I was attending to my storage lockers, renting trucks or trailers. They we're all very busy with customers and yet they continued pushing to the extreme to assist everyone in an a timely and friendly manner. John's work ethic and the staff's were top notch and demonstrated that they would do anything to help customers above and beyond most companies standards. If our employees did as much as these individuals do on a daily basis It would have made my job much easier and I could attend to more significant issues. It was a pleasure to do business with this group and would recommend this location to my friends an associates. I would tell them this group no matter who the customer is will always get the best care possible even it's their first time coming to Uhaul on Miller Ave in Saskatoon. Saskatchewan. Despite checking in online and setting up an alternate account access for my son, they had trouble finding the account and said I had to be there as he was not registered. In the end they phoned to confirm with me but the process was lengthy and frustrating given we followed their directions. Did not know the storage was not accessed from outside. An apartment's worth of items had to be moved down two long hallways - they did provide a dolly. i reserved a 10*14 unit about a month ahead and called few times later to confirm it as I was bringing stuff from a small town 2 hours away and didn't want any disappointment. each time I called staff confirmed my reservation. even on the date of move I called the facility and the lady on staff confirmed the reservation and didn't mention anything about it being not available. few hours later when i reached the facility they said unit was not available, I had to cram my stuff into a smaller unit of 10*10 and ultimately had to buy another unit 10*5 additionally paying 80$. Also staff didn't' offer any insurance despite asking multiple times. now some of my cushions are permanently damaged and I request U-HAUL to pay my damages and reduce the the rental fee.
