The contract showed almost a half tank of gas and there was actually a tiny bit over a quarter of a tank in the truck. The lazy guy behind the counter told me to take a picture of the gas gage so I could prove that I was right. I took the picture and I still have it on my phone yet the idiot still charged me over $38 for gas because he used what the contract had and not my picture of the gas gage.

The manager "DON" was as rude as anyone i have ever dealt with. He yelled at me and other customer how he could only deal with one at time, and walked out to calm down, came back and continued his rude attitude. I could go on but I will NEVER use this establishment again. I'll buy my own trailer and sell it when done to avoid that business. The trailer was almost embarrassing to be see with that worn out piece, The door was hard to get up and down, the right hand turn signal didn't work because the wiring harness was interfering with the door going up and down and unplugged the light, I could go on and on but I will NEVER go in there again, or probably any uhaul.

To start, my ubox location was changed last minute to Santa Rosa from San Rafael. This added 2 hours of travel time to my move x 2 ubox loadings. This was extremely inconvenient and distressing. I worked with two employees on my first visit to load my ubox in Santa Rosa. They were kind. There was a miscommunication on how much notice I needed to give to access my ubox again. Initial employees verbally told me I could call the morning of (not 24 hours in advance). Called Santa Rosa Uhaul Thursday 3/24 at 0730 and talked to Don Sheldon. When I told him the time I would like to come in, he was harsh in saying no. He sounded angry over the phone and started to make me feel bad for not knowing the policy and expressed his frustration with the other coworkers. I have never had a more uncomfortable customer service experience. I was clearly on the verge of tears on the phone. When I went to the uhaul later that day Don was there and had terrible customer service with the long line that was forming - he said "Many of you can confirm your reservations online!" I raised my hand to say I was accessing the ubox, he grunted and then provided assistance. I hope you listen to the phone call from that date and fix the management issue at this location.

The DIY online rental option has a few too many steps, and some of them could be completed before going to the site. A coded key pick up box would be nice so it's truly contactless. But overall, pretty painless and convenient.

There was just one person working there, I was about 4th in line and she wasnt very helpful. We asked for a printed bill for my insurance but she wouldnt print one and said she would e-mail we have not received one yet. I called yesterday and no one answered the phone, terrible service. jI have rented many U-Haul trucks over the years and this one was the Worst ever. If an e-mail of the bill could be sent to us that would be great.

Your software and IT infrastructure is terrible. The poor associates spent an hour trying to get the software to function as the line grew longer and longer at the store. They handled it really well considering how bad it was. I would recommend a redundant or back cell internet to the standard Comcast one if you're having issues with your isp to figure out if it's an isp or software backend. If multiple branches were having this problem then your software development team and dev ops should be pulled in. It sounded like the branch/corporate interface is tenuous at best., especially given the technology issues. Also the reason those ratings are good above is that the people at this branch did a really good job making me a happier customer. Most of the structure seemed to fail them. If you fixed that you'd have much happier customers.

Wait time was very long once I got there (45min) and when I had to call to say I was running late, I was put on hold for over 15 min which made me even later. When I returned the vehicle I again had to wait 15 min as there was no one at the return station even though there was no truck ahead of me.

It was very busy this morning. The man who seemed to be the franchise owner shouted to the line that was almost wrapping around the store nearly to the door, “You don't have to wait in line! You can check-in online!” So we got out of line, and lo and behold we could not complete our check-in online. So we had to get back in line which cost us 30 minutes because the store was so busy. Then when we got to the counter, the same man started arguing with us about whether or not their system had charged us yet. We knew it had; I forget if we got an invoice or if we checked our banking app but we knew we had been charged. The guy argued with us. It turned out the system had already charged us and he was wrong. I'm sure this man is reading this review because reviews go back to the franchise owner or manager or whomever. So if you're reading this, please know it was out of line to argue with us about both of those things and it added to the frustration of the morning. I'm glad your location had some kind of truck available albeit not the size we wanted. But no one - not you or the customer - needs to be met with that attitude especially at 8am on a busy Saturday morning.

This location lost my U-Box for a month. The General Manager (Don) was good about giving me a weekly update but it was still very annoying. It contained my tax information and I got it back on 4/15 so I still got to file on time but it was a rush. I'm a huge fan of U-Haul. I like your easy truck and trailer drop of and your free use of recycled moving boxes. I rate this location as below average - but your average is still the best in the industry. My observation after many trips to this location: 1. Hire more staff. There is a line every time I've gone with a long wait. Forget calling between 4-7pm as no one answers the phone 2. Encourage better communication between team members - especially for Wes and Rob (the U-Box guys). Messages left with the front desk don't get to them and they don't seem to communicate the other direction either 3. Hire or promote another U-Box person. Most U-Box issues are only handled by Wes. If he is off that day, customers, like me, must wait for his return to get info on my U-Box

Keep up the good work. I have rented trailers here 4 or 5 times and this time was best experience. Helpful staff, available staff with no waiting. Clear instructions on where to pick up and drop off. One minor issue, staff evidently forgot to Checkin the trailer at end of rental and got a call asking I if everything was alright or did I need to extend. Before I could call back, they found trailer and checked it in, so all good.

I tried to reserve a motorcycle trailer online, but there were no options for this, so I reserved a 6x9 trailer instead. When I went outside to pick up the trailer there were several motorcycle trailers available, which again were not indicated online. The staff was accommodating and switched the rental agreement for me (though he didn't discount the difference of the less expensive motorcycle trailer). Please make it easier to find motorcycle trailers on your website.

The online check in process needs to be streamlined. If the goal is to avoid more people coming inside, then more direct instructions for online check in need to be provided. I ended up having to go into the building anyway because my truck rental was not in the place the website said it would be. I had also ordered a dolly and was told it would be in the truck and when I got to my house, it was not included. It got the job done, however, I am uncertain if I will be using U-haul again for my moving needs.

I couldn't even use my key card to access the storage unit because the swiping door lock doesn't work I would always have to walk inside and wait for some one to come and open it with a different key. I let them know I didn't want the storage unit anymore and emptied it out before the month was over and they were still trying to charge me for the next month with late fees

Uhaul staff were rude and short. When I needed some assistance with my storage or any assistance In general, I felt like it seemed an inconvenience for them to step out of their chairs to come help. I understand that they have been overwhelmingly busy (they say) and they all showed on their faces and expressed their frustrations/annoyance. I felt like I wasn't treated as a valued customer, instead I felt I was just another "annoying person getting in their way" I felt like my monthly contributions to the storage were a waste and not valued. Wished I went somewhere else after this experience. Will Be sharing my experience with friends and family.

The storage facility is atrocious. The building isn't secured with a security system that can be accessed by renters. The facility is secured by broken locks and door hardware is faulty. The stairs leading to the storage units on the right side of the building are inadequate and broken. I have photos of everything. The top stair is broken, not secured, and is a hazard that should be reported. The apparatus securing the broken stair is also broken and not securing anything. Inside the storage unit, the unit initially rented to me was locked and actually rented to another person. Then, the other units finally rented to me were storage for the facility and had to be unlocked and checked to ensure there wasn't anything in them. Access to the storage units is limited and not accessible for the hours stated on the website. When asked about this there east any explanation. Then, when I went to the units I understood why. The lack of security made it impossible. I have another unit in San Diego and the Uhaul facility is secure, clean and well managed. Working with staff was ok. Except for Christian. Working with him was a chore - for him. It was as if I was putting him out. His flat affect and indignant attitude were horrible. It felt as if I was bothering him, he could care less about customer service. He was robotic and put off by me as a customer and the others he waited on. He appeared to be the most knowledgeable employee and often had to support other staff. Even with staff, he was unkind and frustrated by having to support others. I thought he was initially having a bad day during my first interaction with him. However, upon returning and dealing with him again. That isn't the case. I truly had hoped that upon my return things would be better. Some things were - more staff, facility was cleaned up and appeared to be much more organized. Yet, Christian was the same. It was a chore to deal with customers and staff. Uhaul should - parent company, should send a rep out to review this facility.

The storage facility turned out to be 2 hours from my house (customer service said it was in Ukiah twice and it was not.) It was on the second story with no elevator (not ADA accessable). That was not mentioned. My girlfriend has back problems and no one offered to help move furniture up stairs. The unit itself was dirty and the walls were covered in graffiti and holes. They gave us an access card that didn't work, so we could only access it during office hours. Lastly, they tried to charge me for the month after I moved out. I told them, in person, multiple times on the day I was moving out as well as over the phone. Someone even inspected the unit afterwards. The only good thing I can say about this location is that they eventually dropped the charges for that last month.

The U-Haul onsite storage unit was both NOT as described (was 2nd floor with NO elevator), and storage area closed at least 25 minutes before advertised closing time (7PM), so storage unit was unavailable when we arrived at 6:35 PM after . Clerk at front desk didn't explain properly that he had no keys to unlock door, but twice gave me a mag-stripe entry card that subsequently didn't work, while my hired worker cost me an additional $25 for extra time spent unloading, taking things up stairs to porch landing outside locked door, then moving things back down and reloading. I immediately cancelled the unit, but even that was not handled correctly. I never even saw the unit because of the above.

15+ minute waits every time I wanted to do anything in the store. The self entry door has a dead bolt on it and it is rarely unlocked and you need to walk up to the store to get someone to open it. My one month was free due to truck rental which is the only reason I used the space. Good to have the experience as I will never consider using this facility for storage if I have to pay. This experience was night and day different from my U-Haul experience in Minnesota.

Staffing almost nonexistent. Manager has to be the rudest one of the entire staff not helpful at all in assisting us with problems resulting from the fire on July 3,2018!! Calls ignored!!!!
